- If the Pink Palace Limbo is real, why did the Other Mother need to scare Coraline "up" there? Why didn't the Beldam just leave her there after the 1st night? I want to expand and re-explain that idea!

I have a question, that you might have a theory to. I just watched Coraline again, and realized that Ms. Jones knew exactly what key could open the little door. She went into the kitchen and dug through the key drawer, immediately finding the button key. Is it a skeleton key? Or does Ms. Jones know what key it is since she's opened it before?
@@skunkyclouds i think she saw coralines doll saw the buttons and then looked at the key and chose the most out of place key for the most out of place door and she maby thought that the weird doll weird key and weird door where connected
All the other keys must have been theirs so she didn’t know if it worked or not,But it did.

I always thought that the scare tactics were kind of an "absence makes the heart grow fonder" kind of thing. So, scaring Coraline that much made her actually appreciate her parents more, increasing her love I guess? Great theories!! I love your channel!

The reason the tunnel changes to that cobwebbed tunnel is because the other mother is trying to make the tunnel look scary so Coraline or any other children would be to scared to go through the messed up tunnel.
Eh, it was scariest when she made it dark in there. The cob webs had toys and stuff in it too - I can't not believe that something's up with that.

@@TheFangirlWatches I think the reason why they go back in fourth from the lair to the limbo world, which is also the explanation for the purpose of the limbo world, its because the beldam is trying to get coraline to love her, enough to the point where she wants to stay there with her forever. But that's not going to happen over night, so in the meantime, the child is going to want to go home, but the beldam can't really let the child go home, and visibly forcing the child to stay there against there will is not not a smart move in getting the child to love her. So what better way than to give the illusion of thinking they go home when they dont, That's where the limbo world comes in.

If Coraline is trapped in beldams lair, what are her parents doing? Surely they'd be worried, I mean yeah they never really paid much attention to her, but surely they'd notice her not being there.

I have a great idea for another Coraline theory video! What are the chances of a Coraline 2? At the end of the first one we see the black cat go back into the other world not the limbo since he was already in the limbo world. Is he going back to the beldam to ask her for his next mission? I have a feeling shortly after Coraline went missing into the limbo world her real parents in the real world moved house. Coraline finds out she is not in the real world anymore but in the limbo one. She manages to escape somehow but she’s quite a bit older. And if there were to be a third movie another victim could move into the house and Coraline goes back into the door to stop the other mother from taking anyone again once and for all

I think of the beldam as a being whom can feed of coralines energy as long as she is near coraline so the beldam could have possibly changed her plans and completely forgot about sewing buttons into coraline's eyes and by creating the limbo pink palace she is surely gonna get what she wants.

Honestly, thank you for all of these theory videos. I always thought that Coraline got back to the real world, I mean when I was younger. I was so *shook* because she basically just locked herself into the limbo pink palace. :^)

I have a few things to go with your theory The pink palace seems to resemble the beldam, the colour of the pink palace at the start is so dim compared to the end and coralline said to the other father my father doesn’t sing and when she’s “home” he sings of my twitchy witchy girl I bring you bowls of porridge and I bring you bowls of ice... cream

Hey fangirl, I don't know if you or anyone else had the same thought but in the scene where coraline is jumping on the rug to squish the bubble (fold, crease whatever you call it) she stomps on it which creates a second bubble, then she squishes that bubble which creates another two bubbles. After that, she leaves and comes back after being in the bathroom and she stomps on the bubble in the rug again which finally flattens it.
I feel like that was hinting at the the previous beldam victims, pioneer girl (first bubble), Huck Finn junior (second bubble), the twin girls (third and fourth bubble) and the final bubble coraline stomps on is herself.
I dunno, I felt like I was over-reading it as what would it really signify anyway if it did?

Hi, I wanna give my own mini theory. Coraline wants to go back to the other world so the other mother uses the rats to get coraline back to the normal world. The other mother knows that coraline wants to go back to the other world so she lets coraline go back. But when the other mother sees that coraline doesn't want to come back, THAT'S when she keeps coraline there and steals her parents. That's my theory but I didn't do any research or anything so it might not be right. Keep your great theories coming though.

I honestly thought the whole thing was pretty clear before. What I took from your previous videos on the matter (of why scare her after being so appealing) was that it was all a way of confusing her. Keeping her scared made it harder for her to think straight and therefore didn't make her realise that she didn't go back home.
This new video is actually kind of confusing. According to your earlier videos Coraline stays in the same place as when she went to sleep, the world just altering around her to make her think she's returned, and only goes to the "upper level" after going through the tunnel again. And then left the "upper level" and went merely to the "lower level" when running away at the end and thus trapped herself on the first level.
This new one makes it seem like the tunnel only worked once and she somehow went an inception level deeper while asleep?? It makes less sense to me than her just altering the surrounding to confuse Coraline and trap her unknowingly.
I saw this post on Facebook talking about the dinner scene where the other mother presents to Coraline the cake with the frosting with words that say “welcome home.” According to graphology, the double loop in the letter o in “home” means the person is lying. In the word “welcome” there is a single loop. Basically says that Coraline is welcome, but not home. I was like WOAH!

You have said in past videos that after that (because of the pink palace limbo theory) that the mother may have gone through the door before coraline, but the door is sealed (wallpaper still intact) when coraline first finds it.
I know you posted this like 2 years ago and I am just coming back and re watching this but I was thinking what if some of the people in the limbo pink I palace are old victims of the beldam that she trapped there and they can’t find their way out either??? Maybe maybe not

I really like how your theories explain Coraline, but I found something that I'm not really sure how it fits with the theory. At a point in the movie, the Other Wybie brings Coraline into the Beldam's lair, and she escapes through what I'm assuming is the real portal to the real world. I noticed that the portal is grey and covered in spider webs instead of being lit up and colourful like every other time. Also, that moment is when she goes home and notices her parents missing, and the rotten groceries, etc. It's also when she gets the seeing stone. I'm aware this doesn't really have much to do with the content of this particular video, but I thought it was something I'd point out, since I didn't really know what to make of it.

I was watching Coraline again and I noticed that a doll is in one place in the real world, then in a different place in the other world, when Coraline wakes up in the "real" world the doll is in the same position as in the other world. I'm not sure if you've noticed that before or if I'm just forgetting it being mentioned in a previous video

I think the biggest clue that she goes into limbo pink palace is when coraline escapes from the mirror and tries to leave the with wybie, the other mother almost calmly says "how dare you disobey your mother" walking, not running, walking down the stairs. Compared to in the final fight she literally chases her on her web and fights to keep her inside the other world.

When coraline chucks the key in the well the hand goes up as if to say dont drop it. She also cant see the hand so she is not tricking her
