Caterpillar 252b leaking joystick plunger repair

Save $100s of dollars.
Caterpillar wants 200 bucks for a plunger repair kit that includes all the parts enough to repair two plungers each joystick has four plungers.
It would cost you 800 bucks to repair all eight plungers if needed.

I just bought new plungers off eBay for my 287b. They were pretty cheap, Chinese, but they look quality Had trouble trying to get pipe wrench around universal joint but now thanks to your video I’ll unscrew the joystick handle to get better access. Cheers.

You can take off the handle by just loosening the nut under it. Then just use an 8mm hex to remove the universal joint.

I replaced mine also, it only carries the spring in the forward/backward controls as I discovered also

It work on mine although it fix the leak in joysticks and not the dropping on my buckets and arms
Unfortunately it fixes well but
I bought joystick new 1100$ and
It wasnt that
It was the main hydraulic valve i didnt knew it has that 😔

Hey buddy I have a question. I'm doing the right hand side and cannot get a pipe wrench or vice grips to actually grip to it and remove the metal handle. It won't dig the teeth into that metal. Any suggestions ,
