I found this on complete accident but I'm glad I did! This is very well made from start to finish! Its good to see Castlevania games are still being made... even if they are fanmade. Fantastic work! :)
Thank you very much for your praise, it's my pleasure, I'm not a fan of this series of games, since I started going through them for the first time without having played them before, but I liked them so much that I'll probably catch up.
The fact that this fangame has voice acting caught me off guard. But are the voices A.I. or did they find people who just happen to sound like the actors from the Netflix series?
It's a small fan project not “AAA” so it seems to me that the voiceover is done with AI, though.... There are not so many characters in the game, unlike Chronicles 2, and so if there is a team, they could do the voices themselves. And does it really matter? If the voice acting is done more or less well and allows you to enjoy the game without reading subtitles.
As far as I know Castlevania 4 doesn't exist, where would Chronicles 4 come from then? But there's a lot more games in the franchise and one day I'll get through most of them, but not now. I need to alternate genres, playing the same game over and over again is very exhausting.
There is no official soundtrack from the developers in the network, all I know is that the title of the track "Cross Your Heart" and that it is a remix, but who the artist is unfortunately a mystery to me.
No, I probably didn't understand you right away, “Cross Your Heart” is the name of the track at the beginning of the battle on level 19, but the name of the track during the final battle with the boss under the red sky, I unfortunately did not find it.
The opening sounds like AI mixed final fantasy tactics and dracula's curse together. Not a bad thing, sounds amazing! By the way, is there a way to download and play?
Of course, I'm not quite sure if I have the right to post links and if I won't get scolded by youtube for it, because I'm not very familiar with all the rules and subtleties, but.... you can search for “Castlevania Chronicles III: Dracula's Curse war machines” and it will find you a trailer of the game on youtube, there will be a link from the developers in the description. If you have never played any game from these developers, then below, I made a description of the game with a short review, where I pointed out a few terrible problems of the game, which can spoil your impression, you can read, but if it does not scare you, I think you might like it. Yes, and also, if you search for “Castlevania Chronicles III: Dracula's Curse Fan Remake”, you will find another re-release, I didn't like it very much, but someone praises it, so see for yourself what version of the game you want to play.
@@GoodGamesLab I believe you can share links as long as the link doesn't lead to sketchy websites with malware for example. I've shared links to romhacks and fan-games in the past and so far TH-cam hasn't come knocking on my channels door to demanding removal of those links.
For games that don't have dubbing I do dubbing myself, but in the case of Castlevania Chronicles III - Dracula's Curse, it was already here originally.
Search for “Castlevania Chronicles III - Dracula's Curse release trailer”, this is the official channel of the developers of this re-release, there in the description of the video will be a link to the latest build of the game. There is another variant of the game, if you type in the search “Castlevania Chronicles III - Dracula's Curse fan remake” you will easily find it. Both versions of the re-release are very different, so choose what you like best, personally I liked the warmachine version the most. Enjoy the game.
Yes, in the description under the video there is a link to boosty, go there and there I published a post with links to two different versions of remasters from different developers.
I'll be honest, I have no idea. Probably you, as well as most of my viewers, understand this issue much better than I do, because I first discovered the castlevania series of games.
In the description under the video is boosty, go to it and you will find links to two versions of the remaster from different developers, choose which one you like better.
I don't think I got hit by any axe during this fight at all, maybe it's a bug, or maybe this particular hit didn't count for some reason, I have no idea. It would be weird if a fan game was polished perfectly and didn't have any bugs.
Yeah, I've noticed that too. Fan studios try to keep the spirit of the original as much as possible when creating such remakes, but they still emphasize the modern audience, so the choice falls on this musical style, it's not the first time and quite a common practice in remasters or remakes of old games. As it seems to me, the franchise is now in a very suspended state and is not forgotten only at the expense of fan games, because new official games from the developers have long been gone, so let at least so than no way.
@GoodGamesLab the later Castlevania games got more and more weird and distant from the earlier games anyway, with the exception of Castlevania adventure rebirth which is very good
I know what you mean. But probably just such fan remakes can show the developers of the franchise that it is still interesting to the players and somehow shake them up, although I think they don't follow these fan remakes and even forgot that they still have this franchise, because since the release of the last game “Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls” it's been about 5 years and silence.... No statements, no announcements, nothing...

Can you explain why? Do remasters copy the original games? No, they change them, especially if those games are more than 20 years old. The plot is the same, the locations are the same, the bosses and enemies are the same, the mechanics are already slightly changed, which is typical for remaster versions. Well and the title as if says that this is not the original game “Castlevania Chronicles 3” while the original game was called “Castlevania 3”. Then what's wrong?
@@GoodGamesLab Then this is a revision, not a remaster if he changed key elements. Also this would be a remake given it's not made on the same hardware, remasters just come with improved visuals. Remakes are a game being remade on new tech or platform with the possibility of additions to the original. This was always understood to be the definitions until modern AAA games started bending it to alter content because of DEI involvement. Do games age out when people still play them? Liberties where taken with a certain character that goes against lore. The last two games were perfectly fine in that regard.
I meant that this is a fan re-release of the game, it's just easier for the average player to understand the word remaster, I know the terminology and understand perfectly well what is the difference between remaster and remake, but I would call this game a remake only if it looks like lord of shadows, but it as before is made in the style of 2d platformer, so I called it a remaster, so it's easier for people to get the idea, it does not change the overall picture. Yes, the re-release differs from the remaster not only graphics and soundtrack but also often some gameplay and story changes, but this is for too picky people, for most people that the remaster, that the re-release will be called a remaster, so, all that you described is true, but please ... don't be so stuffy =)
@@GoodGamesLab Given the quality of the game, I'm comfortable thinking of it on the same terms of an actual release. Konami certainly hasn't done it. That's not the definition of e remake. You said you understood it, but then creative your own. It doesn't mean it has to become a different genre, because that's a genre change. Shadow of the Colossus had a remake on a new system, Resident Evil 1 had a remake, Spyro and Crash had remakes; they all fit the definition of a remake when some jumped from PS1 to PS4 and PS5. Lord of Shadow was a reboot; it changed genre and changed the lore, so it was an entirely new thing using familiar elements. I've never met anyone that complained about music unless orchestration taking away character from a game. There's nothing stuffy about why words mean specific things. I think people create their own ideas on things when they don't know or have limited knowledge on it. Remaster and remake were used in film prior decades and decades back and when games adopted it there was never an issue in distinction. I have no idea why in recent years people seem to have issues such as this.
This is a fan re-release of Castlevania 3, I also played the original, and yes, the original and this re-release are different but not very much, the plot is not very different, except that the original had several endings with each companion, while in this re-release they decided to change the ending a little by adding all the companions at once, which is of course worse, because you only need to complete the game once, but this is not a disaster, it's just a simplification, there is nothing terrible about it. Changed some game mechanics in order to simplify the game? Yes, and what's so terrible about it? Yes, when developing any remaster or remake, the developers will not focus on fans, why do they need 10 fans playing their game when they need to show it to a much larger audience, that's the result, this is also normal practice. Music? Well, this genre is often used in remasters and remakes of similar platformers, I don’t know why, but probably among the average player this musical genre is the most popular, as a result we have what we have, yes, it may not be pleasant, but this is also not a catactrophy. As a result, this is still the same Castlevania 3, not the original but a fan reissue and it is done quite well, whether you want to admit it or not is up to you, but it is so, and for the huge number of laudatory reviews on various forums and under various videos about this edition of the game, there is simply an incredibly small percentage of dissatisfied people. No one took the original away from you, please play as much as you want, and the reissue turned out to be, although not a masterpiece, but worthy.
@@GoodGamesLab Thanks for that overly dramatic and extremely excessive response. I got it! Didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings. I just felt compelled to defend the actual game I love, that's all! Sorry if I hurt any feelings!
Agreed, but he made Sypha into the show version. She was a witch with the church, not a Speaker. She hid she was a female because witches are persecuted for using magic and the church took her in when her parents were murdered. That whole aspect of her is gone.
