Good to know you'll never be totally without shelter. Maybe a narrower air mattress? I actually use a camping air mattress, a ThermaRest (one of the best). Gives you more head space plus room for more stuff.
Thanks for doing this. I thought about taking the back bottom out to make more hatch room and leave them home for a recent trip. I didn't try it but now I know what it would look like. At 6'5" I think the bed would be a tight fit.
At 6 foot 5, you might be comfortable. Sleep on the passenger side of the car, no steering wheel to deal with. Personally, I sleep on my side, and usually curl up. Not sleeping like a stick, so I don't take much room up.
Are you asking how to fold the top of the seat down? Or how to remove the bottom of the seat? The bottom of the seat lifts out you just have to pull up with a tug on each side. There is a clip in there that you undo. To fold the back of the seat down go into the trunk and you will see two black pieces of cloth sticking out on each seat. On the left side and right side of the trunk. Pull those pieces of cloth and press on the seat that you're trying to fold down.
thanks for video -great spatial organization i am seriously considering mirage and have significant parking issue is it possible to tell me what width is from one mirror to larger door opening im working with 95 inches from one wall to other wall in parking space appreciate your mirage analysis videos
Just measured it. The car with the mirrors in the driving position is about 78, or 80 inches wide. With the mirrors folded, the car is about 70 inches wide. I hope this helps!
Yup! I sent a comment on my other account and it didn't send for some reason. The car is 80 inches wide with the mirrors in the driving position, and 70 inches wide with them folded.
I wouldn't say this is a caper to live in full time, but more of a week end trip. Like you sleep in a truck/rest stop situation. In my case, I made this to sleep it Quartzsite, Arizona. But that didn't go to plan.
You just need some key words in your video title to increase your views. Hatchback camper, 2,000 pound bed on wheels, 50 MPG bed, or California travel hacks,,,, Drop some catchy key words and see what happens. Safe Travels
@@robertmedlen8289 I mean, it could be van life, but way too small in my opinion. I can fit a lot into this car, but I sure wouldn't want to live in it full time. But as a road trip car, or a few nights, it sure is good!
Go team Mirage!
Yup! Or team any small hatchback for this. ;p

Awesome! Yes, a smaller bed will help. This is a queen bed. But a smaller twin will work much better. Just won't sleep 2.

You mentioned the width but how long is the bed? I'm 5' 11" do you think there is enough room for me to sleep that way?
I am also 5 ft 11 so I'm the same length I fit fine

If the Mirage can't fit in the parking space, no car will.
True! Maybe a Smart car. That's about it. @@g18886
Good to save on rent

I wouldn't say it works long term, but short term for a weekend trip sure!
Doesn't work nearly as well without the cartoon pattern blankets though.
Hahaha! It fits the car well, doesn't it? Lol.
This is a "cartoon car" in the best way!
