Darin, I just want to say thank you very much for your very informational video - it is very, very much appreciated. I was aware of the extra SoP settings, but dare not touch them because I knew nothing of their actions. Thanks again, from the other side of the pond in the UK!
To the people complaining about the amount of adjustability , go and play forza . It's fairly simple to set up a base that feels good . Then tweak it as you want from there . This guide is a great starting point !
Bloody hell i'm confused with all these settings. I'm scared to start adjusting incase I cock it up completely. Videos like this are really helpful, thanks mate.
Very informative, these videos really are great because man the force feedback is a complete mine field. I have never had a wheel so didn't have a basis of what is "too strong" but I can see now after applying changes that the default ps4 setting are way to high, it's such a fight to get round, not now. Thanks again.
10:34 You need to be in neutral for the car to start automatically. I doesn't respond to just a clutch and gas press for a restart, it has to be in neutral. Also, If you use the telemetry HUD, it displays the force feedback amount in the top left. Very useful to find clipping.
Thank you so much for this video tutorial, Darin!! I just bought Project Cars for XBOX ONE and was a bit lost on the FF settings. After watching your tutorial (a couple of times) I was able to right the ship on my settings and now the game is amazing!! I use the Thrustmaster TX wheel/pedals with the TM Leather 28 GT Wheel Add-On - an incredible wheel, as you know. Big fan of your website and TH-cam channel. Thanks again for your valuable insights. Please continue to inform and entertain us!
Perfect. Thanks Darin, now I'm knocking seconds off my times just with these little tweaks. you've created one problem now... I'm going through every vehicle and setting them up individually lol. I also didn't realise till you went into your setups you can change fuel amounts for practice, qual and race, thanks. apart from a few bugs here and there, PCARS is everything I expected!
Thanks a lot for this awesome ffb guide. I'm playing Project Cars on my PS4 with my Thrustmaster T300RS and it felt so uncomfortable. The ffb was way too strong for me but now it's a pleasure to play this great game! Inside Sim Racing rocks! 🙌✌
Thanks Inside Sim Racing!! At first the Force Feedback on my T300 was REALLY awkward, the wheel was just too heavy and every time i turn the wheel makes a noise(like it was screamming of pain). I started with the Lancer and put everything as you said, than i started the carrer mode with a Kart and god, something was wrong!! So i changed some stuff(the 2000 arm angle isn't good for karts for me). But FX, Fy and FZ numbers are almost the same. very good feedback back then, in retrospect its also a good ideal to lower the force feedback base setting under in game under options and then go make sure the gain is set to 1.00 then after that yes all off the above makes much more sense. so basically the force feadback signal coming out of the game should always be adequate depending on the device / motor receving it. so that the user should make sure that his/her wheel is not oversaturated and distorting by this signal. or that the user dosent have to go and trim the signal digitally neither on the whell settings or on game using gain or other sorts of limiters wich would all end up inpeding the full spectrum signal representation of the force feedback signal.
Had serious trouble with PCars using TM TX wheel, seriously considered dumping the game, Xbox and wheel until I saw this vid. Set up as per advice mentioned and lo, all was good. In love with PCars and my wheel now. Old set up resulted in snetterton lap of 1.46, using the advice in the vid, lap time now down to 1.35!! Really good feel, and info coming through the wheel. Thanks to ISR and contributors.
Thank you so, so much for this video. It's exactly what I've been looking for since yesterday. The changes do indeed help a lot. Here's the thing though. In my opinion, no racing sim should need so much fiddling in order to improve the ffb. It should feel good right away more or less. Overall it's a good game, it has some amazing graphics and effects (for example the rain), it has a nice career mode (although it's a little too long for me), it has some very good physics but the ffb needs a lot of work. Even in GT6 the steering wheel feels more informative, more alive. You can feel more of the tyres and the surface. Obviously there is no comparison with AC. I don't know if it has raised the bar so much that I expect every new sim to feel similar but I am a little disappointed with the ffb. Even after all those changes you don't feel the road. Once again though, thank you for the video!
I agree with you. The force feedback should feel right out of the box. I played the game for about 2 hours so far and something feels a little off with the FFB. However, there are so many settings and I will make adjustments in relation to what Darin showcased in this video. Assetto Corsa is still the benchmark that most sim racers should aspire to.
Thanks for your help much appreciated! After watching your video the force feedback is so much better! It really helps us guys that are not used to these sim setting! Great work!
I'm starting to make good progress now, this really helped me to get to grips with my new Thrustmaster TMX wheels FFB settings, great show guys, thank you.
Thanks for the video without this the game was just a disk in a case wasent happy with the game until i found this video still blown away you need to do all these setting for each individual car but what a difference it makes and a positive in the end you learn more about cars now i love this game and what a experience with the thrustmaster t300rs wheel highly recommended for anyone to watch this video and follow what they say
Thank you so much for a good base of ffb adjustments. After playing Project Cars quite a bit yesterday with default settings, I woke up with soar arms today lol. I made some tweaks based off of this video and so far so good. I'll have to see how I feel in the morning tho :)
I don't remember the link unfortunately as I found it at my work's computer but I will give you a run down of how I set up the McLarenP1 PART 1: Global Settings 1. Set the global FFB to 100; it will default to 75 when you first start it. 2. Tire Force to 100; or set as you see fit from here. 3. Relative Adjust Gain to 1.10, Relative Adjust Bleed to 0.10, and Relative Adjust Clamp to 0.95 4. Body Scale and Body Longitudinal Scal to 0.01 5. Scoop Knee to 0.70 and Scoop Reduction to 0.15 6 NOTE; if a certain car is too weak or too strong adjust "Master Scale" and "Sop Scale" But always KEEP THEM AT THE SAME LEVEL as each other ! 7. McLarenP1 settings: Master Scale:30 Fx Scale: 60 Fy Scale: 27 Fz Scale: 140 Mz Scale: 90 Fx Smooth: 20 Fy Smooth: 0 Fz Smooth: 0 Mz Smooth: 0 IMPORTANT one: Arm Angle: 1500 Sop Scale: 30 (remember to keep the same as Master Scale above if you change either or) Sop Lateral: 70 Sop Diff: 140 Sop Damp: 0 Most of all the other cars on the list within the game fall fairly close to these but the Arm Angle is 1500 for about 75 percent of them. Some cars have 1000 or 500. The only exceptions are the Ford Focus RS and the Renault Megane which both have 0 for Arm Angle for some reason. It also looks like Mz scales vary between about 80 to 160 with most being around 80 to 100. The Formula A has an Mz setting of only 25 however. Give these settings a go guys and let me know if things improve for you. I've tried other settings including the ones on this video but these have made the biggest improvements to the game. No offense to the guy in this video but he is just fooling around with settings like anyone else who's scoured the internet.
Inside Sim Racing For the subject matter it's the best presented and most informed. That aside it's a damn good summary and overview with information from a variety of sources. Report back when you have full info on all the settings in your own and you'll get my traffic and sub instead. Inside Sim Racing: Thanks for your efforts. I just got mine in today and i'm ready to race with it (PC G27).
blame the devs of thw game becasue thats all you can do... guess ,assume and trial and error... you need to a degree in engineering or a phd to work this crap out..
yes yes yes sorry i meant Darin ..i just got my play seat with a thrustmaster t300rs with the tpa pedals and im like 10 seconds slower than i was with the controller...now im just getting use to the sitting positons and sterring settings..
I brought my rig because i am always looking at the videos you guys post and i went by your reviews..I hope i get the rite settings that suit my driving style..The f1 2015 feels sos so but on project cars the wheel gas and brakes feel way better then f1 2015..
I would like to ask Slightly mad why they put all these wheel settings, its a very big confusion, I spent two hours yesterday and wheel still was terrible, how is possible they did not see that in two years?
Have you tried the Jack Spade ffb files, The posting contains 2 different sets of files - Standard and Fy+Soplateral Mix which are both good but am liking the Fy+Soplateral myself.
When calibrating your wheel for the degrees of rotation, does that depict the rotation of your wheel throughout the game? Or can you adjust it on the fly using the 'hold down mode button and D-pad left' method?
@Darin: As I understand it, "Arm Angle" is actually the Ackerman angle -- i.e. the part of the steering geometry that is resposinble for toe-out on turns. In real life, if you set it to zero, you get no difference in angle between the inside and the outside wheel when turning because, geometrically speaking, the tie-rods, the lateral line between the wheel hub centers and the lateral line between the tie-rod attachment points no longer make a trapez but a rectangle. Strictly speaking, the "Arm Angle" should always be set to a positive angle. I'll check with AJ or Casey Ringley on the WMD forums whether that particular knob actually changes the steering geometry or if it is purely a FFB feel modifier. As an aside, I've always been of the opinion that this shouldn't be modified by people who don't understand suspension and steering geometry, but maybe that's just me being a pedant! =) I'm 'ermo' on the WMD and Project CARS forum btw.
For the PS4 version of Project Cars I use the T300RS. Force feedback I, starts at 26, I use between 100-200 depending on the car. The top three F scales I set to 34 and the M scale I set between 6 and 10 depending on the car. I don't mess with anything else.
I have a t300 running on the ps4. my question is what setting determines the weight of the car? 2 cars with the same size will feel different. one heavy one light.
Lol I spent all day yesterday messing with the steering settings and still can't get it right...you have to be hulk hogan to steer this t300 on default settings
If i dont feel like going through all tge cars at once is there a way to set them all to the same feel i like for say one car i change then tweak the rest as i get to the cars in the game?
Iv tried to calibrate my t300rs on the ps4 in project cars and the steering feels way off and better with the factory setting , is there a way to sort this please?
pleaase some help...how can i get the wheel (g27) to feel light when the car is at full stop..now it feels so heavy and cluncky and clipping all the time
i tried a lot of settings, but the force when steering is still way too strong on my g27. other forces feel pretty good but the steering feels like i am turning a boat :( what cani do about it?
Noticed when plugging t300rs into pc for firmware update the ffb setting is at default,do you need to put that upto 100,when using on ps4 or leave it as it is?
For anyone that has the Xbox One version and has the issue where the steering is so loose/sloppy you can barely get a feel for the car I've done a video explaining the situation and what settings I've adjusted in detail. But in short for people immediately trying to get something to work with try these setting in the tuning setup: Master Scale: 50 Fx Scale: 176.00 Fy Scale: 176.00 Fz Scale: 176.00 Mz Scale: 176.00 Everything else can be default or you can adjust them one at a time but raising just these will make a huge difference. (This probably won't help you if you're on PS4 and are having FFB that's too strong.)
Maybe it's just my wheel. My first TX felt pretty strong on the FFB (keep in mind I was coming from a DFGT) but when I got a replacement TX it never seemed as strong. Maybe I just got used to it or its not as strong as the first one as it never felt too hard to steer anything or get out of a situation in Forza. Project CARS has a pretty mushy FFB all around center but there was a new patch that just came out so I'll have to give the game another shot and see if any more tweaking still needs done.
I finally found the right settings, but yours are completely different. I guess there are so many viarables that there are many options that feel right.
Could you possibly explain what settings you have for the max degrees on the steering wheel? Setting it to the full 1080 deg. seems way too wild and nothing like your control when watching this video.
Just got my T300 integral and this really helped out for the settings on ps4. is there no way of setting it up one time and saving it for all the cars aswell as the tracks??
I can't get my idea logitech G920 settings at all, always feels like i'm trying to corner in a lorry rather than a racing car, really have to crank the wheel, otherwise the car just goes straight and hits the wall.
I've got both you and Shaun on my steam friends list but never see you playing project cars, I would love to race you guys sometime....although the game can be frustrating at times trying to run a serious race with people more content with trying to play demolition derby.
Brilliant setup car feels so much better, the only annoying thing is after saving the set up to all tracks and I start a new session the force feedback etc settings are all back to default. I must have missed something, even watched video numerous times.
I really like the helmet cam! I have calculated my FoV (48) and without the helmet motions I couldn't see half of the track. It's kinda sad that you can't see the edges of your helmet any more if you change your FoV to a realistic level.
how can i get my g29 to work like that. mine is very very hard to steer and every thing that i have done to it doesn't help it. can someone help me with it. project car is the game??
Guys I'm having a massive problem. I keep stalling the cars. Im using the thrustmaster th8a, t3pa and t300 ferrari gte. I go into neutral, rev to the highest possible rpm, put the clutch pedal down and put the stick into first but it stays in neutral then when I let the revs die down it then goes into first (even though ive already put the stick there) but the revs go down too low and it stalls. When I put the clutch pedal down and leace the stick in first, in reality you could start the car without stalling but everytime I do it immediately stalls again. I've tried plugging via USB and via the DIN port but the problem persists. PLEASE HELP!
Darin, Have you tried the tweaked files for Project Cars pc on the WMD forums ? Night and day. Way more road info to the wheel IMO. Slip and rear loss is improved a lot. I am running an Old Gt2 and loving it !
turdhat Not yet, been focused mainly on the PS4 and XBox One since my first look on the PC version. For my latest video "GT3 @ Le Mans" on the PS4, I made a bunch of tweaks to the FFB and it felt really good. I can see it only getting better with more work
hi darin, great video thank you for the info given in the video very helpfull, i havn't got a wheel yet, as up till now untill this game came out there hasn't been a game in my opinion worth going out and buying one so at the moment im using a control pad, does the setting apply to the controller as well, also i havn't noticed but have you made a video or are you planning on make a video just using the controller and going through the setting similar to this video. thanks. AJ
So Inside Sim Racing. For the xbox one where you say it feels lighter than the PS4. Would you recommend the same settings for the fx,fy,fz etc but turn the master scale up? If so what would you recommend? Thanks in advance :)
So to summarise: 1. Americans can't pronounce Megane, 2. ISR Monetized the settings and work from "some guy" without credit, 3. ISR didn't prep for the video enough, had no idea what he was talking about for the duration, and everyone should just skip the video and download Jack Spade's settings for all cars, famous across the Project Cars community.
Nah man, she's right. He irritated the hell out of me simply because I was expecting some explanations given that the video is a half hour long, but he skipped so much and didn't say anything but "I change this setting to this" and crap like that.
Dude, I'm so agreeing. I deleted my comments just now that I left earlier because I felt like an ass, but then I read yours and, BOOM! I got no explanations. He just skipped everything and said what the numbers are. At 7:10... Just told me the tips? You didn't tell me jack up to that point of the friggin video!
Great video, thanX! i have one little question. is there`s a way to feel a car engine vibration on Logitech Driving Force GT in this game? i have it in ETS 2 , it`s shakin a little bit when the engine`s workin, it`s so cool & awesome, but i miss it in P-CARS. anyone? i can`t find it anywhere
Hi Darwin thanks so much for the base settings.. works well. However I still feel the force dl feedback is too weak for pc with fb set to 100.. what else can I do? Turn up the master?
Yup I have set it to 115.... shall I increase it? It is actually on the straight line that I feel the steering is very loose ... almost like an electric steering on a real car... In the corner it is ok ..
How do you map the buttons when I try and input the buttons I need it won't let me save it until I have mapped all 42 but I don't have that many button on the t300 gte, please can you have a go at this and tell me were I'm going wrong I'm sure I'm not the only one
Thanks man. P. Cars is close to going into the "meh" folder. Iracing and Assetto Corsa, although different from each other, both feel better than P. Cars in my opinion. I'll give your settings a try, maybe it will change my mind. Thanks again, I spent hours trying to find settings that felt decent. - cheers
Inside Sim Racing It did man, it gave me a starting point, that helped a lot. I guess I"m still struggling with the fact that I have to do this for most cars that I drive as the cars all feel numb out the box. I don't mind tweaking handling characteristics like we do in Iracing but having to tweak ffb settings for each car seems a bit much. But it is what it is. Thanks again.
hi, I have a problem with my steering wheel " high speed wheel 3in1" I bought it from ebay and it cannot turn correctly I think the problem is from the driver bcz I do not have it.
I really love this game, I can honestly say it's the best game over ever played. I play with a controller on PS4 and although I know it's nothing compared to a wheel I still love it, I have some pretty good settings dialled in for the pad now for all assists off (apart from manual clutch because it's a bit fiddly to shift+clutch with a pad). Playing on 100% race length in career because I love it so much. :-)
Whats the default clutch and shift buttons in project cars ? When I use to play forza 3 I only played with manual shift with clutch and didnt like the default clutch and shift buttons, I switched out ebrake button and clutch button. Made the clutch button A (which would be X on a PlayStation controller), and the ebrake to the left bumper (which would be L1 on the PlayStation controller), I left down shift as X (which would be square on the PlayStation controller), and upshift B (which is circle in the PlayStation controller) and enjoyed it after that. It made clutch shifting a breeze it only took flicking A and B, or A and X. The only downside to it was the design of the 360s bumper buttons which sticks out too far to the side and your finger would sometimes hit the now ebrake button and cause a slight slide.
There is no default clutch button, you have to map one yourself if you want to use it. Back on Forza I used to use the default LB as clutch and found it simple but I tried mapping L1 to clutch on PCars with Square and Circle as shifting but it didn't work as well as I'd hoped. Still, shifting without use of a clutch doesn't bother me, I find the game great fun! :-)
You tested the T500RS the PS4? I think the T500RS does not work properly, I say this because sometimes need to turn on and off the steering wheel in and out of the game, to be assumed correctly the PS4 !!! This is normal? Even with the game Club Drive, sometimes the FFB is "good", sometimes or sit, stay "dead". About the game Project cars, so setting for the steering wheel as for a car to be accurate, it does not seem normal (it's my opinion).
hey, does project cars remain "realistic" when ported from pc to ps4? What i mean is, are all car setup options still there and does it still feel like a simulator in general? They game just remains the exact same (not talking about graphics obviosuly, i mean from a simulation point of view!)?
Someone help, everyone keeps talking about it being too heavy on the PS4, I'm having the exact opposite, no matter what I do it's far too light. I'm using a TM T150, my last wheel was a DFGT and seemed to have FAR more FFB (never tried it with project cars though). Any ideas? FFB at 100, Master scale at 200 and its still light as anything.
Playing with a pad is so hard for some reason, when compared to Gran Turismo and etc. I don't know why but the braking always stiff, torque is so much that the entire car losses control.
I would reduce either the brake pressure of the car or the brake sensitivity in the settings. Also many cars get loose when you downshift and at the same time steer as the wheels turn faster for a moment when downshifting.
Hi Darin. Ok my mind is blown. I cant understand. On default setting the force feedback is so incredibly light on my thrustmaster tx italia. Ive seen you talk about in game force feedback and then thrustmaster ffb is that pc only? The ffb is so weak i thought my wheel was damaged. But exiting the pits in time trial the wheel is stiff as hell. Then as i exit the pit lane the wheel goes virtually no ffb. Ive put the ffb to 100 in configuration and tried so many setting. Ive played forza to make sure the wheel is fine and forza feels great. If you have any advice would be great. Thanks.
Xplosive Detail I may go back and check out the XBox One version again to see the differences. Beyond FFB at 100, did you change the Tire Force settings ? Also the settings per car ? YOu may need to go higher to get more feel.
Inside Sim Racing yes i would appreciate that. I have specifically deleted my save game data so i would have true default setting and it seems overly soft compared to forza where i play at usually 85 vib 90 ffb. I would like to try mr. Everythings setting as well when i get a chance. He seems to understand/feel my issues. Thanks for a quick response by the way, stumbling across your vids years back is the reason i sim race today!
Just recently got the T300. Followed your instructions exactly in this vid with the same car and settings but my wheel feels ridiculously heavy to the point where I can't even turn it past 30 degrees. Any ideas? One thing I did notice was that I had to hold my wheel firmly in place whilst calibrating, whereas you didn't. Mine always wants to return to centre
Your tips are amazing!!!
Now the money paid for my T300RS is really making sense!
Thank you!
Darin, I just want to say thank you very much for your very informational video - it is very, very much appreciated.
I was aware of the extra SoP settings, but dare not touch them because I knew nothing of their actions. Thanks again, from the other side of the pond in the UK!
Robert I know how much work you put into this. One word: Thanks!
This video helped so much, theyre great base setting for my t300 and i just adjust them slightly for each car. Fantastic thanks alot.
Tim Coles Note down the original settings before you change and save them. Then you have the reference to go back to if you dont like your changes
There is a reset to default setting. So fiddle with everything!!
Thank you for this video, I bought a T300RS recently and was overwhelmed by the settings.
Very informative, these videos really are great because man the force feedback is a complete mine field. Project Cars is truly a force to be reckoned with. Thanks for the guide!
10:34 You need to be in neutral for the car to start automatically. I doesn't respond to just a clutch and gas press for a restart, it has to be in neutral.
Also, If you use the telemetry HUD, it displays the force feedback amount in the top left. Very useful to find clipping.

I also didn't realise till you went into your setups you can change fuel amounts for practice, qual and race, thanks.
apart from a few bugs here and there, PCARS is everything I expected!
TheMasterLunatic My pleasure, glad its helped you !
So in this game you spend more time fine tuning the forcefeed back for each car than you do playing carreer.
Kamil Slomski That can be the case
Kamil Slomski its ridiculous
It's a simulation racer what did you expect. FFS
😂
Thanks a lot for this awesome ffb guide. I'm playing Project Cars on my PS4 with my Thrustmaster T300RS and it felt so uncomfortable. The ffb was way too strong for me but now it's a pleasure to play this great game!
Inside Sim Racing rocks! 🙌✌
Remo Niekrenz My pleasure ! Thanks for watching
i have ps4 and T300 Rs too, what settings did you used ?
John Spirou Similar settings like in the video. But my advise to you make different settings for different cars.
Anti Lluminati a pleasure? yeah then u need to do it again and again .. its just frustrating
Thanks Inside Sim Racing!! At first the Force Feedback on my T300 was REALLY awkward, the wheel was just too heavy and every time i turn the wheel makes a noise(like it was screamming of pain).

Thanks again, it really made the game enjoyable to me!
That was a great video Darin. I look forward to trying those settings on Tuesday on Xbox One!
Thanks Darin, your suggestions were quite helpful. Project Cars is more enjoyable now.
Kwerrauque My pleasure ! Glad it helped you.
Great video. Showed me loads about the trs300 settings thanks and hope to see u on the track some time 👍🏼

I agree, AC makes all the FFB in games I've played since feel like complete crap lol. AC definitely gas raised the bar.
Has* damn typo.
mikSMASH hint: you can edit your own comments lol
Thanks for your help much appreciated! After watching your video the force feedback is so much better! It really helps us guys that are not used to these sim setting! Great work!
I'm starting to make good progress now, this really helped me to get to grips with my new Thrustmaster TMX wheels FFB settings, great show guys,
thank you.
How is the tmx wheel
Simon Dunkley I have a tmx and struggle to feel the car kick out in rear . Any suggestions on ffb settings is greatly appreciated

Thank you so much for a good base of ffb adjustments. After playing Project Cars quite a bit yesterday with default settings, I woke up with soar arms today lol. I made some tweaks based off of this video and so far so good. I'll have to see how I feel in the morning tho :)
I was abit stuck until you explained it, nice one 👍🏻
I don't remember the link unfortunately as I found it at my work's computer but I will give you a run down of how I set up the McLarenP1
PART 1: Global Settings
1. Set the global FFB to 100; it will default to 75 when you first start it.
2. Tire Force to 100; or set as you see fit from here.
3. Relative Adjust Gain to 1.10, Relative Adjust Bleed to 0.10, and Relative Adjust Clamp to 0.95
4. Body Scale and Body Longitudinal Scal to 0.01
5. Scoop Knee to 0.70 and Scoop Reduction to 0.15
6 NOTE; if a certain car is too weak or too strong adjust "Master Scale" and "Sop Scale" But always KEEP THEM AT THE SAME LEVEL as each other !
7. McLarenP1 settings:
Master Scale:30
Fx Scale: 60
Fy Scale: 27
Fz Scale: 140
Mz Scale: 90
Fx Smooth: 20
Fy Smooth: 0
Fz Smooth: 0
Mz Smooth: 0
IMPORTANT one:
Arm Angle: 1500
Sop Scale: 30 (remember to keep the same as Master Scale above if you change either or)
Sop Lateral: 70
Sop Diff: 140
Sop Damp: 0
Most of all the other cars on the list within the game fall fairly close to these but the Arm Angle is 1500 for about 75 percent of them.
"I guess", "I assume" - nice tutorial buddy!
Pluton BC Where's yours ?
Inside Sim Racing For the subject matter it's the best presented and most informed. That aside it's a damn good summary and overview with information from a variety of sources. Report back when you have full info on all the settings in your own and you'll get my traffic and sub instead.
Inside Sim Racing: Thanks for your efforts.
I just got mine in today and i'm ready to race with it (PC G27).
BLDalton85 My pleasure, thanks for watching
+Inside Sim Racing he obviously didnt do one.
blame the devs of thw game becasue thats all you can do... guess ,assume and trial and error... you need to a degree in engineering or a phd to work this crap out..
This really helped. This is my first wheel and loving it and didn't take to long to get use to it
Another great video darin really helped me with the t300! Thanks
Robert you would be the perfect real car reviewer....Thanks for your feedbacks your info is really useful..
+Modesto Vargas Thanks but my name is Darin :-)
yes yes yes sorry i meant Darin ..i just got my play seat with a thrustmaster t300rs with the tpa pedals and im like 10 seconds slower than i was with the controller...now im just getting use to the sitting positons and sterring settings..
+Modesto Vargas No problem :-) It's actually my middle name which was odd that you referred to me as Robert.
I brought my rig because i am always looking at the videos you guys post and i went by your reviews..I hope i get the rite settings that suit my driving style..The f1 2015 feels sos so but on project cars the wheel gas and brakes feel way better then f1 2015..
Excellent video Darin, I'm now able to enjoy the game!
Sonny Cook thanks!
I would like to ask Slightly mad why they put all these wheel settings, its a very big confusion, I spent two hours yesterday and wheel still was terrible, how is possible they did not see that in two years?
Thanks Darin. Very informative when i pick up my T300 for the ps4.
Lots of help!!! Love the videos man, Keep up the good work!!
Another great video Darren, thanks have been struggling with this on pc as new'ish to pc racing
TheBananaZ73 Thanks ! Glad it helped you
Have you tried the Jack Spade ffb files, The posting contains 2 different sets of files - Standard and Fy+Soplateral Mix which are both good but am liking the Fy+Soplateral myself.
For G27 user, i highly recommend Fz scale turn to 200, you can feel bump, curbs very nicely.
When calibrating your wheel for the degrees of rotation, does that depict the rotation of your wheel throughout the game? Or can you adjust it on the fly using the 'hold down mode button and D-pad left' method?
@Darin:
As I understand it, "Arm Angle" is actually the Ackerman angle -- i.e. the part of the steering geometry that is resposinble for toe-out on turns.
I'm 'ermo' on the WMD and Project CARS forum btw.
Ackermam angle isn't adjustable in cars so i'd imagine this is a function to do with force feedback otherwise it ia in the tuning section.
I'm almost giving up on pcars because of ffb, but I will try more now with your video. Thanks!
TheDrNihil My pleasure, good luck with it
For the PS4 version of Project Cars I use the T300RS.
Darin I have a T300 like yourself,,,what do you have your Degrees of Rotation set to.I Can't seem to get mine just right.
What's your comparison from this game to for a or grab turismo?
Great Video Mate, some Pedal Cam would be good too.
Is this an acceptable rubric to follow for the Fanatec Clubsport V2 on the PC, our are they not interchangeable?
Lol I spent all day yesterday messing with the steering settings and still can't get it right...you have to be hulk hogan to steer this t300 on default settings
If i dont feel like going through all tge cars at once is there a way to set them all to the same feel i like for say one car i change then tweak the rest as i get to the cars in the game?
Thanks for the tips! This will definitely help reduce the learning curve and get me into the fun sooner. :)
Iv tried to calibrate my t300rs on the ps4 in project cars and the steering feels way off and better with the factory setting , is there a way to sort this please?
pleaase some help...how can i get the wheel (g27) to feel light when the car is at full stop..now it feels so heavy and cluncky and clipping all the time
It would be great if you could now go through the setup now you have had patches and more experience with the settings.
i tried a lot of settings, but the force when steering is still way too strong on my g27. other forces feel pretty good but the steering feels like i am turning a boat :( what cani do about it?
Can I use the FFB Settings for my G29 on PS4 ?
Did you manualy set the wheel to 900 degrees or kept it as it is?
Thank you, great Tips. Deep digging as usual.
Kudos
Noticed when plugging t300rs into pc for firmware update the ffb setting is at default,do you need to put that upto 100,when using on ps4 or leave it as it is?
For anyone that has the Xbox One version and has the issue where the steering is so loose/sloppy you can barely get a feel for the car I've done a video explaining the situation and what settings I've adjusted in detail. But in short for people immediately trying to get something to work with try these setting in the tuning setup:
Master Scale: 50
Fx Scale: 176.00
Fy Scale: 176.00
Fz Scale: 176.00
Mz Scale: 176.00
Everything else can be default
or you can adjust them one at a time but raising just these will make a huge difference. (This probably won't help you if you're on PS4 and are having FFB that's too strong.)
Thanks alot! That made a huge different. I set my master scale to 40 though, I think the force feedback is pretty strong on the Thrustmaster TX.
David Danser Like I said, trial and error and everyone likes it different. Glad you got it sorted out.
and what about settings in that thrustmaster control window _?
Could you possibly explain what settings you have for the max degrees on the steering wheel? Setting it to the full 1080 deg. seems way too wild and nothing like your control when watching this video.
Just got my T300 integral and this really helped out for the settings on ps4. is there no way of setting it up one time and saving it for all the cars aswell as the tracks??
Great video Darin. Cheers
Irishlad147 Thanks !
are these settings still ok since 8 may 2015? thanks..
***** Did you change cars, or same car ?
I properly changed the car as I thought the setting was track specific as I saved to all tracks, does that mean I have to change every single car?
Did you run this with a stock setup or did you tune the car? I ran a 3:21.845 with a tune
CDubLDD Stock but I took a little fuel out
That pronunciation of Renault Megane :D
+Warren Newman meg-ann is EU pronunciation
I really like the helmet cam! I have calculated my FoV (48) and without the helmet motions I couldn't see half of the track. It's kinda sad that you can't see the edges of your helmet any more if you change your FoV to a realistic level.
thanks i was wondering what most the settings did i just was told change them a bit lol. Ill write that down now.
i have searched and searched for a t300. Found "1." Before I purchase, is it worth the price tag??
how can i get my g29 to work like that. mine is very very hard to steer and every thing that i have done to it doesn't help it. can someone help me with it. project car is the game??
Thanks for the video, i noticed you have the shifter hooked up to a different wheel, would it connect to the madcatz xbox one wheel? Thanks
TAGS Battfink No it won't
How do I take the wheel off of the car so I don't have to look at my thrustmaster wheel and the in game wheel
I can see it only getting better with more work
i couldnt find my thrustmaster t150 in control scheme..pls help me mate
hi darin, great video thank you for the info given in the video very helpfull, i havn't got a wheel yet, as up till now untill this game came out there hasn't been a game in my opinion worth going out and buying one so at the moment im using a control pad, does the setting apply to the controller as well, also i havn't noticed but have you made a video or are you planning on make a video just using the controller and going through the setting similar to this video. thanks. AJ
AJJUNIOR No I wont be for controllers. I rarely if ever use a gamepad to race with so I wouldn't be the best person to do it.
Inside Sim Racing ok thanks mate and thanks for replying back to me.
So Inside Sim Racing. For the xbox one where you say it feels lighter than the PS4. Would you recommend the same settings for the fx,fy,fz etc but turn the master scale up? If so what would you recommend?
Thanks in advance :)
Duncan Kirby You should use trial and error to find a good balance per car that you like
So to summarise: 1.
Yeah, you nailed it.. great detective work..lol
calm your titts
+Inside Sim Racing Thanks for the video it really help me out. Don't ever let assholes like Olivia get to you.
Sad thing is I went from g29 to podium dd1 from fanatec and the game does not even recognise the wheel so I can't play it anymore.
Darin
Paulabusa My pleasure, have you tried tire force?
Yup I have set it to 115.... shall I increase it? It is actually on the straight line that I feel the steering is very loose ... almost like an electric steering on a real car... In the corner it is ok ..
How do you map the buttons when I try and input the buttons I need it won't let me save it until I have mapped all 42 but I don't have that many button on the t300 gte, please can you have a go at this and tell me were I'm going wrong I'm sure I'm not the only one
Hi I have same wheel...when mapping buttons make sure you map a button for handbrake as it won't let you leave the settings you have set if you dont
Gary shaw I'll try that thanks
Thanks man. P. Cars is close to going into the "meh" folder. Iracing and Assetto Corsa, although different from each other, both feel better than P. Cars in my opinion. I'll give your settings a try, maybe it will change my mind. Thanks again, I spent hours trying to find settings that felt decent.
- cheers
CCL71 My pleasure and hope it worked out for you !
They game just remains the exact same (not talking about graphics obviosuly, i mean from a simulation point of view!)?
mitoand9 Yes it's has all the same features
Okay, great thx, finally sims coming to console too
Someone help, everyone keeps talking about it being too heavy on the PS4, I'm having the exact opposite, no matter what I do it's far too light. I'm using a TM T150, my last wheel was a DFGT and seemed to have FAR more FFB (never tried it with project cars though).
Any ideas? FFB at 100, Master scale at 200 and its still light as anything.
Hey I have a t300 and project cars for the ps4 and my wheel seems to turn left on its own anyone have this problem or know how to fix?
My th8a shifter doesnt work with it must i plug it in my wheel or usb port ?
You need to map its buttons first, they aren't by default. Just check out the edit assignment menu in controls.
Oh and I've plugged it into my USB.
Yeah ive got it working already and its plugged in the wheel. Thanks though ☺
Can you do some racing in some cars in gt3
what is your FOV setting on the camera?
jsap32 65
I really enjoy your videos thank you for posting them
mohanad rahieem My pleasure, thanks for watching
Just recently got the T300. Followed your instructions exactly in this vid with the same car and settings but my wheel feels ridiculously heavy to the point where I can't even turn it past 30 degrees. Any ideas?
One thing I did notice was that I had to hold my wheel firmly in place whilst calibrating, whereas you didn't. Mine always wants to return to centre
+KaySlay1 Could be some changes were made to the title in patches since I did this video
did you get it fixed...I'm having the same problem
+Derek Stechmann reduce tyre force to around 75-80. This reduces the FFB but was the only way I could make it driveable
+Derek Stechmann I also found that reducing the master scale from 26 to 20 has a similar affect as reducing Fx, Fy, and Fz.
