So seven months later and all if fine as I said it's still in the tank but can't be seen I'm expecting another event in December or January my thinking is that's when temperature is a bit up and down in the UK? But will see will post a vid of tank soon.
I think you got it right, poly lab medic helps the fish, but doesn't eradicate ich. I've used it three times, first time it helped, I gave it a week then dosed again and the white spot cleared up. Several months later ich returned so I treated with polyp lab medic again and it didn't work i lost most of my fish, perhaps velvet wiped them out. I decided to leave my display tank empty for nine weeks while treating all surviving fish with copper in a hospital tank, that cured it. My fish were fine for seven months after returning them, But out of the blue I noticed a few white spots on my flame angel, now my purple and kole tang are covered again. I'm trying polyp lab medic again , so fingers crossed, it's such a shame to take all the rocks and corals out to catch the fish. People have different opinions but do some fish always carry ick? Unfortunately I think ick in the fish keeping hobby is very difficult to avoid.
The only way to success is to quarantine everything especially corals before introducing them into your display tank. fish don't always carry ick but one does not know so a 10 day quarantine in copper should keep you safe for every new fish. 30 day quarantine for corals (no copper) will keep you safe. corals is especially important because no shop will quarantine corals because it takes time, remember every time something new arrives at the shop and is mixed with existing stock quarantine is period is broken. so... treat your main tank, every fish must be taken out and treated (pay especial attention to copper levels to be sure you kill all parasites), main tanks needs 40 days with out fish to also be treated and you will be free of disease. quarantine everything from then on and you will be guaranteed results.
Yes that is the best way fot the most. I have used copper to treat fish be careful not all fish fair well under under this treatment. as for quarantining fish this is a very good idea and may show up issues but i know of a least one case of a fish passing 3months quarantine and going on to infect the tank with white spot, some fish just dont do well and fade away and die in quarantine tanks. while every reefer believes in prevention rather than cure but when it happens you do what you can 19 months later and nearly all the fish are still with me happy days.
Yes the brown and yellow tang were put in first and for 3 days it was murder really thought it was not going to work then one morning they saw them swimming around together. The sailfin tang went in about a year after and after a day everything was fine. When I added the purple tang it started again but both of them against the purple but it also started this parasite issue so was more interested in saving the tank then them. The yellow and regal tang still dont enjoy the purples company. Yellow and puple display to each other frequently. And at feeding time the regal chases the purple away.
@@reefingwithoutjudgement8266 Well I see good to hear that. Just had my purple tang in my newly cycled tank, I'm traumatised if we talk about fish aggression, one of my clown fish who attacked other clowns, 2 were dead n that aggression is on another level. I have a hypo tang still under QT will be added to main display hope the aggression stays minimal. In my area there's not much new fishes coming in so putting those tangs at same time is impossible. BTW I enjoyed watching ur video
