I've always trended toward rye mash bill bourbons, as well as rye whiskeys. I prefer the spicier profiles. I'll probably hunt this, but I don't expect to find it.
Me too Fred. our eyes are “muscles”. I know we’re talking bourbon., but thank you for mentioning it. Annoying losing eyesight. But you’re the best. You immediately go to something positive. We all need that Fred and thank you.
Even more respect to you Fred. The enzyme idea is of great importance to me.And what enzymes may still be present by within a bottled whiskey. I’m quite curious to know if any enzymes do remain as again I have a digestive problem which relies on some of the enzymes produced by the pancreas. Therefore, I take a supplement, but I’d be interested to know where these enzymes occur naturally. Especially in bourbon, /whiskey etc.(Anything but Vodka)Iappreciate you so much for now what has become years. As always thank you for your service cheers.
I don’t like regular EHT rye and it’s already hard enough to find…. I’m ok if I can’t find the EHT BP rye. But I def wanna try it and see if I like it better than handy
Sand bagging blue belt here. Training 7 years now. All things kimura be my favorite. Bow and arrow in the Gi, not my favorite but it’s really high percentage for me.
Other than the BP EH Taylor rye (which I guess I'll hafta get at a whiskey bar), two thots: (1) Living in Hawaii, I love your reference to a sugar cane note, a really novel characterization. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your persoective) sugar here was killed by the end of price supports, which made it impossible to compete with imported cane or with domestic beet sugar, now the principal source of domestically produced sugar. I love me some beets, but -- damn -- not in my whiskey; and (2) As for the glasses, I wore them for decades until I had Lasik. Fortunately, my corneas were thick enuf to permit correction of my astigmatism, too. It was the best money I ever spent on myself, freeing me from glasses and opening a whole wide world of peripheral vision. Well, best money I spent on myself until high-end cataract surgery, which kept me glasses-free. Cheers!
Pretty sure us that have been doing this for decades knew from the first mention of them coming out with a barrel proof rye knew it would be just as hard to get as every BT bottle. And after your review it’s a sure thing. I’m sure it’s fantastic but not a bottle I’ll be looking for as BT is for campers in my area and that’s not how I acquire the whiskey I drink. Great review the ball is a rolling! Enjoy!!
@@thomasmichael6509 not wrong. Unfortunately the whole try before you buy doesn't really work at most places. If you see it you need to buy it and find out because if you go back it will most likely have been sold.
So I have to talk about everything else but the bourbon.Cause there’s no way I get that lucky..And this new one?after that Weller video..Geez..You rock ,What else is there to say?
lol my store won't be allocated a single bottle. maybe they can do a traveller rye touched first by the ghosts of the buffalo trace distillery and then the soul of that country music guy, and i can get some stock of that.
I’m sorry to say this, because Buffalo Trace was the starting point of my bourbon journey 10+ years ago, namely BT & Eagle Rare, and has a soft spot in my heart with good memories….but this distillery has kind of become just a joke to me. What other major US distillery can’t keep ANY of their products on the shelf?? I’m over it and have just mentally moved on from caring about anything new they’re doing or my chances of scoring a bottle.
I see your point with ryes being less hunted... But... Shheeiiiittt... Unobtanium unless the store prices at $600 the you'll be able to gawk at it behind the counter on their museum shelf.
I wrestled for most of my young life, hated head gear, but looking at my coaches ears, made me wear it every single time. I recommend you do, you will be thankful
But I have found is to purchase a few different well aged rye whiskey. And not someone listen to what some reviewers say even though I do love this channel and I’m a subscriber sometimes I can’t afford what I see or obtain it.
Brown belt 48yrs old. Rolled for 10yrs but 3yrs ago i got a really bad ankle injury, so i’m not on the mat right now (plus went back and started college). Love shoulder locks and was working on bringing up my omplata game
Dearest Fred, I personally don’t care if you “roll” /spar, and talking about it all the time is very Navy 🛥️ of you (for an Army guy). I wear a Carhartt Belt (think that’s what they call a redneck or hillbilly belt), and my favorite submission is probably doggy…if I get lucky enough with the old lady. Usually coincides with $3.99 margarita night at El Nopal. Now come on brother, you already knew this was going to be unobtainable for us peasants because it says E.H. Taylor on the bottle. You really just need to do fictitious reviews and give terrible ratings on good bottles. Then give us a code word at the end of the video when it’s actually good, because when you say it’s good, we ALL flock to the store (respect) and can’t find it. Hope Kenny and Ryan have a good laugh at this^. The hunt is on, brother and thanks for the review! Hooah 🫡 ✈️ 🇺🇸 💪 Love your buddy from the Air Force
Don't worry Fred, most of us were never going to see this anyway... and if we did it will be $700 😂😂😂
Exactly.
Just found one for 100.
This will be just as hyped and “hunted” as every other EH Taylor bottle simply because of the brand and distillery
"Eh taylor barrel proof rye will be obtainable" thats funny.........
You don't see EH Taylor Straight Ryes sitting around everywhere either?
@@jrlanger42not at all! Correct
@@jrlanger42not the rye..but the if I wanna pay ..?Almost everything is available in Fla..
It’s not anything special… I don’t care what he says
I love the quick history lessons in your videos - can't find this anywhere else and it's fascinating info!
My Favorite submission is the Missionary... No wait...
Fred, my vote is for glasses and ascot for every video. Stay on brand!
Lets be honest. It was going to be hard to find regardless if it is good or not.
Thanks Fred! Great to see you making posts again.
LOL, they could put Traveler in one of those yellow tubes and it would sell like crazy (at least for the 1st year).

I always like the historical information you include with analysis. Keep up the good work Mr Minnick!

Fred, any thoughts on mashbill? Is it the eht straight rye but at barrel? Sourced?
Predatory bottle flippers are licking their chops. Animals I tell you.
More attainable? How does the word not get out?😂 it’s ok, I will be alright.
Indeed
Now I’m intrigued
Lol it’s a little late in the game to get cauliflower ear. You want to get the headgear ASAP bc it happens fast.

I got one of these and it’s a spearmint bomb. Absolutely delicious! My favorite rye!

Out of curiosity, have you tried any of the single barrel ryes from Corbin Cash out of Central Valley California? Their stuff is 🔥🔥
Love this Rye! I prefer 💯 Rye expressions with a higher ABV but this is a good one! ☝️
The hunt is on!
Interesting how some reviews are coming out now that it's publicly released, but the reviews seem to rank this as underwhelming
Bourbon people may not like rye, but the bottle flippers don't care. It's going to be tough as nails to get, guaranteed.
No realer statement about BT can be said. Doesn't matter if it's good or not it will get snatched up quick.
I think there’s a lot of fomo. People would rather get the rare bottle and find out it’s mediocre than miss the bottle and find it it’s amazing

Good thing for Jack Daniel's barrel proof Rye for guys like me to enjoy a good Rye with proof. Cheers 🥃

You ever considered getting PRK surgery? I did it about 10 years ago to get rid of my stigmatism.

I see your point with ryes being less hunted... But... Shheeiiiittt... Unobtanium unless the store prices at $600 the you'll be able to gawk at it behind the counter on their museum shelf.
People are going to scoop up anything with that Taylor yellow label. This will be no different.
How would this go against a Jack Daniel’s high proof rye?
Since you’re talking all-time Kentucky greats here, how would this stack up against a Redhook Rye? 😁
I wrestled for most of my young life, hated head gear, but looking at my coaches ears, made me wear it every single time. I recommend you do, you will be thankful
Got one for Christmas. Wife paid $120
The 1st batch will be damn near invisible. Overtime they'll be more attainable
Rumor hasit this is from Barton and was bottled in 2022 , whats up with that .
Not going to be hard to get? You definitely need head gear Fred.
Better than dad’s hat?
Did you spill at the end there?
But but but....will it beat smokeye hill or whatever it's called in a blind? I mean it "beat GTS".
Nothing wrong with a little lard.
BT spend 1 billion expanding to make new limited labels they can hold over the stores to buy the cheap stuff. Hahaha
More whiskey most will never get.
Ugh..

You said it all right there. Labels. My father was a printer. It’s the Jew inside that matters even though the label always sucks me in.

Fred, you're completely out of touch. Most of us haven't seen the regular EHT rye on a shelf in 5+ years. This will be unobtainium.
