I love the way Toreno casually mocks the Air Force, “prepare to be vaporized”. Talk about pure confidence.
If it wasn't James Woods as Torreno it would have been insulting instead of comically arrogant

Toreno is one of the best characters in the game. His chemistry with cj is god damn funny
This is why I like James Woods, he's gotten the roles of some funny characters. He even made a guest appearance on The Simpsons and Family Guy.

I hated Toreno as a kid because his missions were super hard and he came off as a dick to me but as an adult i love him because i never realized how funny his dialogue was

The only mission where you actually traveled all the 3 main cities in the game. You start in Madd Dogg's mansion (Los Santos), stolen the Hydra in Easter Basin Naval Base (San Fierro), and landed it in the Verdant Meadows airstrip (near Las Venturas).
The confidence Toreno has in Carl is astonishing. He knew just how to pull his strings, given the character Carl is.
I love how CJ immediately shouts ''TORENO'' when he hears a voice ahahaha
People who think Supply Lines or Wrong Side of the Tracks are harder missions than this one probably never went this far into the game.
If you’re good with the hydra and stealth, this isn’t too bad. Wrong Side of the Tracks is all RNG based off of Big Smoke’s shooting unless you get the bike on top of the train, which isn’t the easiest thing to do.

Vertical bird is a very easy mission after insane-difficulty "Military service" race.
Tbh, this mission was easier for me than following the damn train 😅 & it was one of the most enjoyable mission of gta san andreas for me

This is one of the missions that make me sit on the edge of my seat. I've tried Supply Lines and WSotT and none of them really gave me the thrills as this mission.
Infiltrating a military ship, stealing a jet and blowing up enemy ships. What can be more badass than that?

Flying missions in GTA SA are some of the hardest ones, especially Vertical Bird, that being said if you learn and nail the controls they can be some of the best and most fun missions out there.

This mission, stowaway, and Black Project making Carl a Secret sevice agent. Something way beyond his level as a hood cleaning gangster.

Without the fog the hydra jet dog fight in this mission was kinda sick though. You can actually see clearly the heat seeking missile just following the jet and blow up.
This mission was easy in PC. But in the mobile, it's extremely hard to control the hydra.

i cant even make the hydra land slowly in my first try but when i replayed the whole game I finished that mission in one go
On mobile the hydra keeps going to plane mode i just wanna fly in hover mode
Just play it with a gamepad then it‘s easy
Love how Cj turns into a special forces operator towards the end of the game

My brother in law (technically former) did all the story races for me and flight school,I did everything else.
The whole point of flight school is to help with the flying missions like the aforementioned ones.

pro tip, to make this mission easier try to destroy 2 jets and after that you'll see the jet that chase you only 1 jet remaining😂
This mission now made me realize why I get a 5 star wanted level when being at the naval base as it's government and military private property.
Not recommended to do that in real life, of course.
This mission is harder in my opinion, than wrong side of the tracks

One of my favorites missions!! in the game…I even have it saved before hand so I can play it anytime…if you can master the flying in this game you’ll be just fine

This mission was always hard for me compared to the rest but I had fun playing it all thx to flying a hydra for the first time
All man CJ got his Suit all wet!!!.. But he managed to keep his hat on through all that B/S! now! that's impressive!!...
Gotta huge tip for all. In the flying part of it. Just get out of the plane then make the enemy planes crash then get back in the hydra(mine was broken) and take it the air strip. Then get a bike at the airstrip and then go to where the boats are and blow them up then go back to the airstrip and place the plane in the hanger. Easy, and works.

I was so ready for a dogfight with the other hydras. But nope, Toreno was right, they were just freaking clowns suddenly crashing into obstructions (probably because I was slow and near the bridge).
The easy part is to steal the jet but the hard part is to pilot or drive the jet
You can see the cars on the street from the sky very very nice rockstar
And it's a fake traffic, getting close from their distance making them disappear which is awful but it's ok for the distance traffic illusion
*THE ABSOLUTE HARDEST MISSION IN THE GAME*
Tip: take out the jets with explosives so you can deal with at least one fighter jet instead of three. Also try to stay near the bridge and make the jet crash into the pillars

You can also use the minigun from the Up Up And Away mission to do the job quickly.

I didn't already know this but after complete the mission you get all of the heavy artillery (Flame thrower, minigun, rocket launcher, and heat seaking rocket launcher)that spawns at trino's ranch. Idk why the game couldn't tell my this.

I remember what I did was to destroy all the other parked jets on the carrier before leaving the carrier in one of the jets. In that way you only get to dogfight one plane

This is so much more harder than any other mission. Other missions got easy tricks but this ain’t got nothing you just gotta get goood at flying and that’s so fcking hard
The way I did this mission is that i destroyed 2 of the Jets, stole one, landed on the dessert and waited for the last Jet to go infront of me so I can use my honing missiles then I just used a sniper rifle to take out the boats (You would probably need around 50-60 Sniper ammo)

Damn, the original PS2 version also had better missiles, the feature that isn't panned as much as the horrible rain and bugged character models is how horrendous missiles look in the remasters. Looks like planes are dragons with a cold as these are literal fireballs

The stormy weather in SA can't catch a break. At first, it was normal in the original PS2 version. Then Rockstar messed up and the sky became bloody red. And here, it evolved into diarrhea-brown.
This took me more re-tries than any other mission so far, my stealth sucks and my flying is unpredictable!
This mission took me hours straight for me to complete because I am not very good with planes

Has anyone thought of destroying the the other two fighter jets on the ship before you escape with the one you stole? If you do so, only one fighter jet goes after you. I tried that myself in my younger days. (I wonder if the same happens when you destroy only one jet and two of them go after you.)
