Thank you for the great turorial. Really well explained how to play the different parts by themselves, but i still couldnt find out at wich time the second rythm part comes on
@@davedoingguitar I do have a question tho, I’m new at guitar so excuse the question. When it’s 0h3p0 does that mean hammer on 3 then play it open? I can’t get my hammer on to be one fluid note like yours
This was a great tutorial. Would you consider doing a tutorial for st vincent's song rattlesnake? Her playing that live on Letterman has a great solo at the end, i would love a tutorial for that.
You're welcome! Yeah for sure. I actually made a post detailing my amp/pedal setup. Head to the Community tab on my page and scroll down to one titled "Gear Post 3 - Amp & Pedals" and that should help you out. Otherwise just throw questions at me :)
Mate can you explain how to do the heavy feedback part on the start before the actual lead part starts ? How to get that effect ? Thanks for the video you got a new subscriber 👍
Thanks for the sub! :) It sounds like it's 3 different layers of feedback/noise from what I can tell. 1. There's the high-pitched feedback - you can hold your guitar to your amp or something to get this effect. 2. The reversed distortion - a studio effect achieved by recording something and then reversing it, and 3. Also the third layer that builds and sounds like a motor. This may be a delay pedal that has the repeats adjusted to get that quick building repetition which cuts off as the main part of the song kicks in. (Could be a Line6 DL4 pedal. They can make a similarly choppy sound). Hope this helps :)
What is this hammering tecnique, im stuck on the high notes on the first part cause for me the hammering just doesnt come in. Im just a beginner so i dont really get it
The drive sound is from a Creation Audio Labs Holy Fire and think there's a touch of reverb on there too which is from a Strymon Flint. Amp is a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe + my Tele! :)
Not too sure exactly but I have a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe and normally have the eq about level but the kids boosted a bit. A number of pedals shape the sound too :)
The overdrive is from a Creation Audio Labs Holy Fire. I'll have a full rig rundown up in a few days on the community tab on my channel so you can see everything I use there :)
