GiGi. I’m so glad you was aware of your body to get the help you needed. It’s been one month since I have been diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma. Stage 2 triple negative. I start chemo tomorrow. You give me hope❤❤
Thank you. My mind has not stopped racing since my diagnosis- invasive carcinoma- estrogen and Her2 positive. First it was stage 1a as it was 1/3 cm Dec 27. By the time I had my surgery 2/20- it grew to 2.1 putting me at stage 2a. It was enough having to deal with the diagnosis as already being a cancer survivor from thyroid cancer. Now be told that my treatment plan had changed because it has grown to a stage 2 has been mind shattering. I have two people kids. My daughter is going to college in August (got accepted early decision) into her top school. Now she and my 11 yr old son has to worry about their mother. I am so heartbroken as there is no family history of thyroid or breast cancer in my family by family accounts and genetic marker testing. I feel lost and scared as my chemo will begin 3/18/24 with my birthday 3/24/24. I know I am a strong woman but turning 51 and having to think about his instead of the accomplishments of my babies.....and german shepherd who just turned 4 who is also a big baby..is just..........I heard about the dignicap to save my hair, but to be told that by a nurse that it doesn't work for African American women...right before my surgery just put the icing on the cake of - wrong time and wrong moment lady! I know she was trying to be helpful but with an already worried woman who 's eyes are already filled with tears...its just.....my mind is just.....Thank you for your story. Thank you for sharing as I am one who tries to battle things alone and dont ask for help. Thank you for your courage as I buckle up, pray some more and then some more; love on my babies and get ready for this life altering ride. Lord Help Us all and Keep Us Strong and in your Embrace!

Thank you. I was also diagnosed of breast cancer January 2024. Started chemotherapy, done chemotherapy twice approaching my 3rd chemotherapy. Is not easy but i know i am not alone. God is with me in this journey. I feel down sometime but i am survival by his grace. Thanks a million. Is really encouraging hearing your testimony. Thank you

I just was diagnosed 5 days ago. I’m 38 and have two kids. I am so scared 😭. I haven’t found out what the treatment plan I’m going to go through. I am trying to stay positive. Glad I found this video ❤
Im 34 and have just been diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma 2 in my left breast. Gigi you are so strong and an inspiration to me personally so many things from your story are what is happening with me. I wish you the very best. 💖
Beautiful testimony & inspiring. Thank you so much Pink Sister for sharing your journey & triumph over cancer. I saved this so I can watch again. You gave me HOPE when I needed it. Thank you!💖
❤❤❤ love this story. I was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer March 9. I just finished chemo Aug 10th. This story resonated with me so much. To have someone that truly knows what I went and am going through is phenomenal. I have a double masectomy on 09/18.
Sending you love as you prepare for surgery next week! Feel free to reach out to us at socialmedia@nbcf.org if there's anything we can help you with: We have free eBooks on surgery and other helpful topics, virtual Support Groups, and more that we can share.
I’m very moved by your video. It’s infuriating that the one doctor thought you shouldn’t have the lump removed. I had a similar experience. I’m a breast cancer survivor (24 years since diagnosis). Cysts are often painful, and malignant breast tumors are usually not painful. My tumor was not painful and wasn’t hard; it was firm, immovable and rubbery. Fortunately, I caught it at stage one. It was triple positive, grades 2-3, mixed lobular, DCIS, and IDC. I wish you all the best. Btw, there’s nothing selfish about wanting to live for oneself. I’m an atheist and thank my excellent doctors for my being here. I have no kids but I have a long-time partner; a brother; and many friends. I went through treatment for ME and for THEM. I wish you many decades of living in good health.
How horrible not to be taken seriously! Bless you for taking your health care into your own hands. I wish you well on your journey, I’m just beginning mine. ❤
I just received my diagnosis yesterday for invasive ductal carcinoma. I'm still waiting on further test results which should come soon. It spread past the milk duct but not certain whether it spread to lymph nodes or not. Thank you so much for sharing your journey! I'm nervous but encouraged.
stay encouraged and surround yourself with folks that will support you through this. prepare for lots of doctor visits! going through the same thing with my pregnant daughter who has stage 3B breast cancer. you can and will get through this! sending love and light your way!

Thanks for sharing your story, I was diagnosed March 29, 2022. I was so shocked 😢 then I was placed on Tamoxifen & Verzenio to shrink the tumor. It did shrink a little. In Ma rch 23,2023 I had a double mastectomy, notice in surgery i had tumor in my lymph nodes as well.started chemotherapy in June 2023 finished chemo in October 2023. I stared Radiation in December 2023 finished in February 8, 2024. I'm Cancer free. Now I'm back on Tamoxifen and Verzenio estrogen blocker. This journey wasn't easy and listening to this story brings back memories 😢😢 Thanks for sharing

Gigi, I see you. Thank you for your testimony. I am facing a brand new diagnosis at 40 with DCIS in the left breast and invasive ductal carcinoma in the right. I have my appointment with my surgeon today. I am trying to be strong, but I am terrified at the same time. I have a 9 year old daughter and want to show her what being strong and not giving up is.

GiGi, Praise the Lord that all went well, I am 73 and I was diagnostic with breast cancer,. I thank you for your testimony. May our heavenly father continue to bless you.

I’m from Little Rock but I now live in St. Louis. ❤❤. I have invasive ductal carcinoma. Stage 2 triple negative breast cancer. I start chemo tomorrow. Let’s keep fighting ladies❤
I am so glad i saw this. I am 60 years old and just found out i have breast cancer and I am going thru chemo now and it hurts and makes me sick and tired but Incan do this Thank you GiGi
Thank you so much for sharing. You have given me hope to get through this chemotherapy process. I’ve just started my 2nd cycle & will also be done with the season in October 2024. THANK YOU SO MUCH❤
16:00 im scared of 36 too. My mom had me at 36. She died last month if cancer. My family forced her to go to the hospital and we found out. She said she had cancer that come and go. But she left so quickly. Im in my early 30s. We have a similar story, GiGi. So beautiful. We're a sisterhood and we're sisters. Also, it took cancer for me to appreciate and connect with my family.
Thank you for your comment and thank you for sharing your story. We love how supportive you are of this beautiful sisterhood. 💗 Sending love to you and your family!
I am so glad you're doing well, and Praise God, it continues on that path. If I was a younger woman, I would go the chemo route, but at my age, I think I'd just let the disease take me and have some quality rather than quantity. My mom had stage 4 lung cancer that had spread. Her docs suggested we just keep her comfortable, she didn't have long (6 months was the ceiling), and give her the quality of life rather than a few more months. They told us there's 3 kinds of lung cancer, with 1 being very treatable, one that's treatable but tougher to beat, and the 3rd kind, what she had, couldn't be solved with surgery and the odds that chemo and radiation would work were low. They said "Why prolong her life by a few months, being sick from the treatment the entire time? How about we keep her as pain free as possible and let her enjoy her grand kids". They were right, and that's what our family decided.
I loved your story Gigi! I have Invasive Ductal Carcinoma in my right breast & just found out around the 8th of September. To hear all the things you were saying sounding so much like me! I couldn’t stop listening to you. I’m so sorry you didn’t have your Mother all these years to be there for you but you Found Hope & Faith!! I’m trying, thru my best & closest friends, to grab a hold of Faith, from my Jesus Christ that never will leave us, but I’m trying also to doubt if Jesus is with me! I feel guilty about not being in church & I wonder if I’m being punished for that & somehow the guilt is blocking my Faith! I would appreciate your prayers for me; it’s mentally breaking me because I’m saved & know Jesus but feel like I can’t feel him with me thru this. Any help would be appreciated & thank God you came thru all the Chemo & on the bright side of life! You sure are a Joy to listen to & thank you for your time. Blessings , Jean❤️❤️
Beautiful inside and out!!! Amazing testimony!! God bless you GiGi, and thank you for your testimony. I have 3 survivors in my life, my half sister, and two beautiful friends who are like moms to me❤
I just had surgery 3 weeks ago. I was diagnosed with ductal carcinoma Insitu. No family history, overall healthy It's very scary. I'm healing now , I will start radiation in a couple weeks. Very scary 😢
First Dr. really missed the boat, to say the very least. Horrible. Inexcusable. Breast Cancer patients don’t fit in a box. Grateful you got a second opinion ❤ Love it, Breast friend, breast sister. So very informative and insightful. Right, don’t take no for an answer.
Thanks for sharing. I felt exactly the same way. Im 38 yo. Same diagnosis with lymph nodes also on October Friday the 13th out of all days. Started Taxol last week. Decided to combine the treatment with the Hoxsey clinic treatment. Hoping it all goes well as it did for you!
I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma ER/PR negative Her2 positive stage 2. I’m on my second round of TCHP as of July 3rd 2024. I’m 36 years old and found the lump myself and it had spread to my lymph nodes.
Praying for you . If you let people know they can pray for you .Thats why i went public about my breast cancer n i can relate so much .Sending you love n hope ❤️

I did all test and scan i was so hopeful but 25 /3/24 and results break my heart because it was positive and have seen cancer cells but thanks God he has taken away my worries
This really made me cry 😭 I went to the Er yesterday and they had to make sure a blood clot wasn't going to my heart . They found out I have a 1in nuldge in my left breast and need to get an ultrasound bc it may be cancer 😢
Just been diagnosed about to get both breast removed dcis on the left breast didn't have any sign of lumps still trying to understand the whole thing but have a good spirit of the think waiting for the operation date then the healing begin was told no chemo or radiation but that can change hope I'm making the right decision
I was just diagnosis on Sept 17th with invasive mammary carcinoma - and its triple negative according to the oncologist on Oct 21st which was my first appointment to see him. He say its the most aggressive kind but their process is so slow as to treatment. So the 21st was my first appointment and he explained the results and discussed treatment so it 4 cycles of chemo first before surgery. But before i can even start that I have other test and scans to get done. I was looking to get the ball rolling asap but my next appointment is not until Nov. 4th.2024 hell I'm thinking will it spread before then if its so aggressive. So its a waiting game for me. i will keep u in my prayer as i pray for myself . God is with us all.
I was just diagnosed, at age 63, with invasive ductal carcinoma. This is the same cancer (though they called it infiltrating and not invasive back then) that killed my beautiful identical twin. I knew 20 years ago, when she was diagnosed that my turn would come. Don't ask me how I knew. Maybe because we were twins, I don't know. But a mammogram caught my cancer early, when it was too small to even be felt. It would probably have to triple in size for me to feel it. I'm seeing my surgeon for the first time tomorrow and am very scared. But just like Gigi, I'm a woman of faith. I'm so grateful it was caught early, but I know I will have to go on a journey, the same journey most women go on if they want a fighting chance. This cancer isn't going to kill me like it did my sister. I still have her journals and when I need to be encouraged, I'll read her words, raw emotions and all as she realized she was dying. I pray for all of us who are on this journey and if anyone wants to be "breast friends", I'm available lol.
Hi I am 61 have the same as you. Just had lumpectomy last week waiting for results to see if I need radiotherapy. Praying 🙏 for all of us, we will get through this ❤❤
God bless GiGi. You’re 💯 right, we all need to push and be our own advocates. My tumor was never found on a mammogram, even the diagnostic one 2 months before my surgery was clear. I am a thyroid cancer survivor who still has evidence of something lingering, so I am on surveillance every 6 to 9 months. My IDC was found on a pet scan. I I had a great team at UNC in North Carolina that didn’t just take the mammogram results but went through all of the testing pretty quickly. I was assured this is most likely nothing. After my biopsy, I kept a close eye out for the test results on the patient portal. It was that Friday that I saw the results that it was positive for cancer. Fast forward, I already had my surgery for estrogen and progesterone positive, her2 negative tumor and I’m starting radiation in 2 weeks.
We're so sorry to hear this! We hope you are feeling better today. We have some chemo tips listed on our website if you're interested in checking them out: www.nationalbreastcancer.org/blog/what-helps-during-chemo/
My positive thoughts, Gigi, as you are going through your journey. Any healthcare professional who believes an individual is "too young", as an 8 year old girl had to undergo a mastectomy. Because of your perseverance and putting your health first for yourself, your family so awesome.❤❤❤
Gigi , we have a similar experience . It was also a Friday . I was also brushed off during the pandemic . But you charged on , while I believed the doctor . She said it was just a muscle
I also did not smoke , not an alcoholic , did not party . Tried to be a good person and a good citizen . I don’t understood why these all are happening. My mom also is going through cancer . Thank you for your motivation
Muscle cramps often happen. Now chemotherapy treatment is going for me.4 th chemo is finished.totally 8 cycles.I have back pain, neck pain ,arm pain and shoulder pain.please tell tips for body pain. I have breast cancer(stage2) triple negative. I have a doubt.chemo trips which hand make shoulder and arm pain?
We're so sorry to hear you're experiencing pain. We encourage you to reach out to your doctor for the best ways to manage the pain you're having. Every body is different and your medical team will be able to help you best. 💗
You’ll be fine Sis just trust the Lord. I’m breast cancer patient and diagnosed on 1999. My kids that time was 5, 8 and 16 years old. I’m now 67yrs with 3 grand kids. Praise the Lord! Hallelujah 🙏
I was just diagnosed with breast cancer, who I don’t even know why it is so hard for people of color to be taken seriously to get the help that we need crazy
We hope this was an okay method of delivery with you. We encourage our community to establish clear lines of communication with their medical team, which includes letting them know how they'd like to receive any news or updates to their health. Thank you for all your comments. Sending you love!
GiGi. I’m so glad you was aware of your body to get the help you needed. It’s been one month since I have been diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma. Stage 2 triple negative.

Gigi, thank you for sharing your story.
What a amazing lady, you are a great inspiration ❤
Thank you for this sweet comment!
Gigi. Thank you for sharing your story. You have given me so.
Sending love and prayers your way, Jean!
You are strong and a survivor ❤

I just had surgery 3 weeks ago. I was diagnosed with ductal carcinoma Insitu.
No family history, overall healthy
It's very scary. I'm healing now , I will start radiation in a couple weeks. Very scary 😢
Thanks for sharing. Please know we're sending you love through it all and we are here for you. 💗
First Dr. really missed the boat, to say the very least.
Sending you love through it all! Don't hesitate to reach out if there's any way we can be of any help. 💗 We're here for you!
How did your lymph nodes look and where were they located? I’m sorry you are going thru this.
I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma ER/PR negative Her2 positive stage 2. I’m on my second round of TCHP as of July 3rd 2024. I’m 36 years old and found the lump myself and it had spread to my lymph nodes.
Thank you for sharing! We hope you're doing well today. 💗
How are you now?

I had a great team at UNC in North Carolina that didn’t just take the mammogram results but went through all of the testing pretty quickly.
Thank you for sharing! We hope you are doing okay today. 💗
BRAVO WARRIOR 🫂🌹🫂
Gorgeous brave woman ❤
You’re my hero🥰🤗😇❤️
Had my second treatment of chemo had me feeling very sick ❤❤❤
We're so sorry to hear this! We hope you are feeling better today. We have some chemo tips listed on our website if you're interested in checking them out: www.nationalbreastcancer.org/blog/what-helps-during-chemo/
My positive thoughts, Gigi, as you are going through your journey. Any healthcare professional who believes an individual is "too young", as an 8 year old girl had to undergo a mastectomy. Because of your perseverance and putting your health first for yourself, your family so awesome.❤❤❤
Thank you for this empowering comment 💗
Gigi , we have a similar experience . It was also a Friday . I was also brushed off during the pandemic . But you charged on , while I believed the doctor . She said it was just a muscle
Thank you for sharing. I’m still waiting the type and stage .
I also did not smoke , not an alcoholic , did not party . Tried to be a good person and a good citizen . I don’t understood why these all are happening. My mom also is going through cancer .
Thank you for your motivation
