I love the gen5 because i am left handed so any advantage i can get having a totally ambi gun or rifle is a plus. The new gen5 has improvements inside and out which only enhance the reliability the gun already has.
Love my gen5s but I still prefer my Gen3 17,34, & G26 also gen4 19 & others are awesome too. Out of them all my favorite is the New Lypseys exclusive P80 Gen1 replica made by Glock.
I was blessed to come across a used, Glock 17 Gen 5 a little over a year ago, it was in Brand new condition, and the original buyer put some TG-H3 nite sites on it, I Absolutley love this pistol, probably would of not bought it if it had those horrible standard sites..i got an upgraded 750 dollar gun for 500..
My first gun was a Glock 19. I later purchased a Glock 26 & 21SF, so I’m no Glock hater. They’re fine guns. Eventually I would go on to own Walthers, a Sig Sauer, a Kahr and a Springfield Armory. Currently, I own two Smith & Wessons (Shield Plus & full-size 2.0 9mm). My gun journey has taught me that reliability and ergonomics are foremost important when it comes to guns. Once upon a time Glock was miles ahead of other manufacturers in the reliability department. That is no longer the case. Other manufacturers have caught up to them. For that reason, and Glock’s stubbornness in being slow to innovate their pistol lineup (for instance, that lackluster trigger), I no longer have them on my radar. There are simply better options available to shooters today.
My department just switched over to these and we just completed qualifying with them. If there is anything I hate about this pistol, the slide does not lock to the rear when you're empty. That to me is a problem. I'm not counting my shots when I shoot. I'm focused to SO many other things. It wasn't just the Glock I was shooting either, every other officer said their slide did not lock either when they were out of ammo.
Glock-17 first came out in 1981? I thought it was 1982. Tested by the Austrian Army in 1983. Won the Army trials hands down. Beating the Sig-Sauer P-226, Beretta 92 series, Steyr-GB, etc. On that same year in 1983, the Austrian Army ordered 25,000 units. Followed by the Norwegian Army who bought 3,000 pistols. The Glock-17 was introduced in the United States in 1986. After tested by the ATF, a few politicians in D.C., made a big issue about the pistol. Deemed to be a terrorist weapon, that can slipped into airport securities, called the "plastic gun". The rest was all in the History books. Note: I know there is someone out there just waiting for me to make some comments! So they can jump on my head. lol Thank you.
I was on an exercise with NATO countries of Denmark, Norway and Austrian Armies. It was 1985 and got to shoot the Austrians Pistole 80 or P80. They started issuing the P80 or Glock 17 if you will in mid 1983 and through 1984 until all units had them. Hated it , now love them.
the y rounded the front , ilove racking the the slide at the front so my finger will slip now with gen 5, maybe the next modification would be the angled grip into straight grip, or rounded trigger guard pls stop wrecking this good pistol stop americanizing it, if you don't like the pistol get mnp pistol or ruger.
Maybe glock in there usual saint like manner just anticipated the fact that some users of the Glock product are simply stupid. bro you’re gonna shoot your finger off... always take every single precaution possible when handling a fire arm man. Treat every gun as if it is loaded Keep the barrel pointed in a safe direction and watch your fingers 😂
Seriously, the recoil makes her arm almost go behind her head, not the best for showing off the handgun. Maybe next time you'll let an actual man shoot it.
Jams, straight out of the box, wasted 550$..buy a sig...and,nothing like a huge hole between the slide and frame(right where the barrel lug is) for alot of crap to get in the gun, courtesy of their new ambidextrous slide stop...and...somebody teach that chic proper shooting form.
Just bought a Glock 17 Gen 5 yesterday. I'm now a proud gun owner of 2 pistols now. Also own a Sig P320 as well. Both very good Handguns
Great 👍
Wish the p320 was good but Sig has been having alot of problems with its products. You'll never see me buy a Sig at this time
Keep up the great work
Lol I have both as well the glock 17 gen 5 and the sig p320 legion
I bought a Gen 3 Glock 17 a few months ago I’m in love with it
I love the gen5 because i am left handed so any advantage i can get having a totally ambi gun or rifle is a plus. The new gen5 has improvements inside and out which only enhance the reliability the gun already has.
I have this gun and it is really nice exactly as described. This video is very accurate, and I'm very impressed with this gun.
Just picked up my G17 Gen5 and I'm satisfied with its performance
James Black do they still have the mag well cutout in the front of the grip?

I like the options to use a 24 and 33 round magazine on G17. I’m debating between G17 and S&W M&P Metal
0:11 Nice gun! Less recoil compared to the earlier generations.
3oz unloaded?! Impressive.
It's all the balsa wood

Lol...i noticed that too.
Just bought mine this morning; I can't wait to go shooting! :)
Are you able to get it without the front serrations?
Mine came with but they feel like they give a more secure grip
0:18 ". . . and weighs three ounces unloaded." Uh. . . no! Unloaded it weighs 22.22 oz. With an empty magazine insertd, it weights 24.97 oz.
Like always beautiful review
i have G34 gen 5and 19x . Now the G17 gen 5 popped up at the pawn shop . Thinking
Phenomenal review 👏
The Gen 5 Glock 17 is supposed to have front slide serrations.
This is the early gen 5. The new new fbi spec gen 5 does. Gen 5 has been out for a few years now.

Nice video.
Is there any information for a steel frame for this pistol?
Thanks n advance.

Interesting I purchased a new G-17 three weeks ago and slide locks open after last shoot
The coating didn't work for me I got a small scuff from my belt on the slide while conceal carrying.
Just heard the "AUDIO JUNGLE" sound mark lol. May wanna pay for your music
Honestly they changed the barrel I'm gen 5 cause the the rifling in the gen 3 and gen 4 weren't 100% on ballistics for crimes.
Much People say that other guns are Glock killer. Like hk vp9 , cz p10c, arex Delta gen 2 L...... What is your opinion ???
I love the gen 5 I need one.
Are you able to get it without the front serrations?
In Texas
Who makes the best mags for this model?
Glock
Why does this Glock not have serrations on the front end of the slide
First gen 5 i believe or early model i have the same...
When did Glock add the front serrations on the slide
Yeah that's what I want to know!
I have never shot a gun before. Question. Is it scary to fire a gun?
No but it’s loud if your firing without ear pro on😂 if your scared to shoot start with loading one bullet in the mag
Cleaning gun much more often????
Every time I shoot, I clean that gun. One shot, total breakdown, total cleaning.
The 17 is way too big for her hands
Or she hold it wrong
Looks intimidating though
She was using 2 round magazines
