- We shoot the newest Glock 17. Yes it's the fifth generation of this tested and battle proven 9mm pistol. Getting rid of the finger groves on the grip is a great change. I was very impressed and like this better than the Gen 4! Help support our channel. Become a patron.

One thing I've noticed with my Gen 5 is the ejection pattern seems better than some of the later Gen 3s and Gen 4s I've owned.

I like the new Glock safety orange mag followers. the new Glock marksman barrel design, the black improved surface coating, the rounded front. I'm not crazy about the mag well gap.

Best of all the Glocks, in my opinion. Typical Glock reliability with a longer sight radius, Ambi slide catch, slightly wider mag well, forward slide serrations. The first 200 to 400 rounds through mine, although no problems with various ammo being chewed up and spit out, the trigger was a bit heavier than I liked. Now...she runs smoother and just plain better. It’s a great time to be a firearms owner. Options aplenty everywhere! 👍
Yes so true. The Glock is a solid performer. Just picked up a G19 Gen 5
If it has stock sights look at the rear and it will be offset about 1mm. After 2650 rds through my Gen 5 I moved them to center and it shoots great.

I think the best improvement is the bullnose, getting rid of that square pig nose. Makes a big difference in look and function for holstering

Interesting to see how it would compare to the new Sig P320 X-Carry and the new Sar 9.
I've not shot the 320 x-carry, but having shot other 320's I expect it to be very good. I did a review on the DA SAR many years ago and thought it was a good value for the money but not a gun I would buy. However the SAR9 looks very interesting indeed!

Just bought a gen5 19. Know what you mean on the finger grooves. Still like my gen3&4's. Put about 300 rnds through it so far so good.

Did that Glock come with that grip plug on the bottom or is it aftermarket? I had to buy plugs for both of my Glocks, something that should come installed from the factory if Glock took any pride in their products.

Its all subjective. The M&P fits my hand better but I'd be happy with either.
Anyone else notice the Gen 5 Glocks are now coming with the beveled frame to match the beveled slide? I bought my Gen 5 Glock 17 today and the frame matches the slide. Anyone else?
Got one yesterday and yes mine matches. I like it a lot.
You had any experience with Armscore 9mm 115 Grain, seen it in my local gun shop for $9 for a box of 50. If you have, is it reliable.
I shoot their 9mm, 44 Mag, and .45 acp. Never had any issues.

I don't even feel the finger grooves in a Gen 4 Glock.
Many people liked the finger grooves on the GEN three and GEN four pistols. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with them but personally, I do prefer a frame that doesn’t have finger grooves as part of it.

So the only difference between the gen5 and gen2 is stippling?
Other additions are the tactical rail and recoil spring. Bottom line, unless you have to have a rail for a light, the Gen 2 works great.

Yes sir, I couldn’t agree more. I recently acquired a Glock 45. This pistol has a full-size Glock 17 frame with a Glock 19 slide. The balance is exceptional and it fits very well in the hand.

My Gen 2 Glock 17 shot a group as good as the Gen 5. However, I'd want to shoot the Gen 5 another 1000 rounds or so and then try different ammo to see if the new barrel made a difference.
