    You shouldn’t put oil on the Breach face, it can contaminate primers if you carry, it can also get oil in the firing pin channel, which you don’t want. Thanks for the video.

    • @travisp11
      @travisp11  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I always finish that portion off with a dry patch. I also mention that while cleaning magazines you want to keep oil out of the mags so the primers stay dry.

      @@travisp11 good stuff. I’m a rust-phobe and it took me a while to trust not having to use too much oil on GLOCKs. When I store my guns, I still coat them, but regular use guns I use it sparingly as you mention in the video. Thanks again.

      @dankeglock Break Free makes a special "museum" grade CLP for long term storage or packing. I've never used it but some say it works well. I mainly use Slip 2000 EWL or Clenzoil spray. I used to use Froglube CLP 🐸 but that can leave a sticky film, white residue.

    Clenzoil is a great CLP. I use it often. I like Slip 2000 EWL. Both are non toxic, no fumes. As for bore 🐍 I prefer Otis Rip Cords. They hold up longer & have Nomex fibers. Easy to use while on the gun range. Swabs are handy: Q tips or bigger barrel cleaners. Glocks do not need tons of oil or CLP. You can field strip & clean the Glock mags too. They make tools to aid in cleaning.

      I haven’t been re oiling before range trips unless the firearm has been in the gun safe for a long time. Even then it is just a minimal amount and mostly for the BCGs of my ARs or the barrels of my pistols.

BUT I CANNOT OPENT HE GUN I cocked it pack and also tried holding it back a quarter all lengths holding it back and the thing just wouldn't come down. The thing on two sides that look like a switch that you did when you held the gun with one hand and your other hand with the other one. It just wont budge???? is paintballs guns meant to be taken apart or not?

    Hi if the glock will be stored for an extended period without use. Example 5 months. Is it best to have the trigger depressed? Or kocked in the ready to fire position? Do you damage the inside of the gun in anyway depending which method you store the trigger in? Thanks

    • @travisp11
      @travisp11  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My G17 Gen 4 and Gen 5 sit for 5-6 months at a time with a round in the chamber and the trigger cocked. They only go to the range a few times a year and I’ve never had an issue.

    • @dankeglock
      @dankeglock ปีที่แล้ว

      Springs wear from repeated compression and expansion, sitting in a steady state won’t noticeably fatigue a spring, so you don’t need to depress the trigger when storing the gun. I’ve had guns sit for years and they were fine when I shot them and I’ve also left mags loaded for over three years and they worked fine for thousands of rounds.

  • @andrescibrian6949
    @andrescibrian6949 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do I have to do all of these if I bought a new glock? Or it’s already lubricated?

    • @travisp11
      @travisp11  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I always clean every gun that I buy new or used. I believe the instruction manual asks you to clean it before you go to the range. Many of these guns have a heavy machine oil that is used in their assembly which can get dirty inside quick.
