I sold my Burgman 400 2 months ago and got the 2021 Kymco Ak550. I didn't like the Burgman too much up until I installed the 15g Dr Pulley sliders on it. My first ride I noticed great increase in power right from the start. Anyway it's gone now. The Ak550 is a real beast and much better then the Burgman 400 in almost all aspects except storage space.
Good to know. Enjoy the AK550. I wanted to look at those too but didn't have them in my area to look at. I still think I made the right choice for me though. So far the this Burgman is the perfect machine for my needs
@@robertsalyers1351 Not sure I followed your question. This video is about installing on a 3rd generation Burgman 400. I am sure it is very similar to the older generations too. I had a 2005 Burgman 650 a couple of years back and the process was almost the same.
I didn't watch this video yet but using this as a way to contact you that comments are turned off on the newest video you posted 7-14-21 about the top case and other new add-ons. It says something about your video is suitable for kids. There are several like that. I wanted to ask about the seat cover. Thanks!
Sorry some new changes on TH-cam publishing. I fixed the comments and will fix the kids thing. Please ask me your questions in more detail now that I fixed that.
Yes! Which is unusual for this stuff. Both the bracket and the case I purchased had clear instructions. All my Vespa add ons are in Italian so this is a nice and welcomed change.
Hi how many miles on you're burman now since you bought it ? Any problems so far ? I'm planing to buy a 2019 model with 2k miles ? What problem should I look for with these bikes. I'm picking it up from Houston TX and driving back to California i just don't want to be on the side of the road broken down.
I would really like to upgrade my older 400, but a little worried about the cvt issues burgman has had. The floppy belt slapping drove me nuts. Can you tell me if the new models have corrected the issue?
I can't say exactly on that. I do know that they have redone the motor for these 3rd generation models. I did not see CVT stuff exactly spelled out on this link. But it is good link to review. www.motorscooterguide.net/suzuki-burgman-400-an400/
I havent priced them in awhile. I know they are going to stop making them, or at least stop shipping to USA. So you will probably need to look for used
My 650 seat is slightly lower than most. Its at 29.9" I had a custom Corbin seat on my and I dropped it down about an inch. The 400 has the lowest of any scooter that I know of. 29.7"
@@gr8shotz00 ok thanks for the info. Do you think it would be crazy to take the 400 out west from Ohio probably 1500 miles? It would be my wife and I both under 140 lbs.
@@darrengarlough5121 I don't know for sure. I am sure it can be done. I know people who tour 2 up on Vespa 250's. Just plan your route well. I would keep of long stretches of freeway. 1500 miles if you break it up in to several days is not that much.
Thats because there was no voice to listen to. I tried the text and point method. Easier to film, but results weren't what I would have liked. I should have gone back and done a voice over.
@@gr8shotz00 I didn't find lack of audio a problem. In fact, compared with the some of the "music" (loose, generic term!) one sometimes comes across on videos, I much preferred it. Yes, a subsequent voiceover might have worked but hey, you showed what was needed and that's fine by me! 🙂

Thank goodness for this video. My rack/box came with no instructions, other than a wee diagram showing where to drill.
Glad it was useful. A lot of these motorcycle parts have terrible instructions.
Did the metal plate come with the luggage rack or did you have to get it separately?
Came with it

Will the top case double as a backrest?
Absolutely for the passenger.
The 200 Burgman is easier to install the mounting plate. Good video👍

There’s no sound. Was that intentional for your how-to video?
Just traveled and hours to look at the new kymcos and was to high for me. I wanted so etching more than my 400 how much higher is the 650?

Very Nice Ride...l need one
I think the Shad boxes look better than the Givi ones
I agree. Both good quality
Good video, might have been more useful with audio😂 No audio except for the intro music 😃
Thanks, I often think no one wants to hear me ramble on, and my gas heater is extremely loud which was necessary for survival during the filming.
