  • Hi everyone!
In this short video, I share how I spent my weekend, attending a sustainable event, a concert, and a designer's ceremony.
I joined the "Marketplace of the Future" event, an organization dedicated to promoting sustainability and responsible practices inspired by the 1939 New York World's Fair. The atmosphere was exciting and fun, with a strong commitment to circularity, renewable energy, regeneration, and social equity. Sponsored by companies committed to net zero, zero waste, and climate change, the event featured panels and talks by influential figures in climate change, sustainability, and green initiatives.
I believe it's essential to share this event with you because we need to engage with institutions, organizations, and individuals capable of addressing climate change and creating platforms like this to amplify the impact in a positive way.
The CEO, Amir, emphasized the serious nature of their mission but also highlighted their approach of doing everything with fun. The event offered a chance to learn about organizations' future goals and initiatives while enjoying plant-based burgers and beverages provided by food companies.
One standout feature was the emphasis on sustainability, including the opportunity to thrift furniture and items used at the event. Attendees could pick pieces at the remix table, contributing to a more circular and responsible approach.
On another day, there was the chance to collect wood blocks used for the stage set, a unique and sustainable souvenir.
Meeting incredibly talented, responsible, and fun people made the experience even more enjoyable than anticipated.
Looking ahead, I plan to explore more creative events, like the collaborative exhibition of my favorite designer and ceramic artist in the Lower East Side, Manhattan. This artist is known for designing soft yet stunning lighting, ceramic pieces, and furniture.
Before attending a celebration event, I stopped at one of my favorite restaurants in a lovely corner, enjoying my meal while watching people. Later, I headed to a concert at the Gramercy Theatre with my sister after attending Eny Lee Parker's ceremony.
One memorable moment was tasting the best kimbap ever, made by a friend's mom. The day concluded with laughter, especially when encountering an ad that never fails to bring joy.
Finally, my friend, part of the band "Parkingtonsisters," has been playing with her sisters for a long time, and they embarked on a tour this year.
I hope you enjoyed this journey through diverse and exciting experiences, from sustainability event to concert and delicious food. If you attended any of these events or have similar stories to share, drop a comment below.
