Hi! My name is Canan. I am an artist and making ceramics, simple woodworks and innovative use of environmental materials.
In this video, I'm excited to share my latest journey with you! I've been busy in the studio these days and I thought it would be cool to give you a glimpse of my day.
First, I'll show you the process of reclaiming my clay. It's a bit of a messy but fascinating process, and the end result is super smooth and ready for creating beautiful pieces.
Next, I'll take you on a little adventure to Manhattan. I needed a special tool for cutting clay, so we visited some art supply stores in the city.
After our art supply store adventure, my sister and I had a lovely lunch together. We then took a leisurely stroll through the bustling streets of Manhattan, taking in the city's vibrant atmosphere. Of course, we couldn't resist indulging in some delicious desserts.
Finally, back in the studio, I'll show you the results of the day's work with the reclaimed clay. While I won't go into detail about how I wedged the clay in this video, I'll give you a sneak peek at how smooth and ready it is for my next creative project.
So, if you're curious about the clay reclamation process and want to join me on this day of art supply shopping, delicious food, and creative adventures in Manhattan, here you go!

Captivating video. Any thoughts of applying Native culture techniques? Pit kiln etc. Earthenware , stoneware? Well done.

Hi @bobm2331! Thank you for your comment. 😊If you are talking about decoration of native culture techniques, I did only once on a bowl. But I haven’t had a chance to apply to my pottery all which I would love to do it. I have my own manual kiln at my studio. I have been struggling with it time to time cus it is old and second hand. I use only stoneware. I always fire 2 times - bisque & glaze.
      Hope this helps your questions☺️
