i hope the lower jaw gets fixed because that's unacceptable, id return this and wait for a fixed iteration or not bother with this Blue.
The jaw of the figure is correct. in his case he was unlucky and found a defective copy
It seems to be a widespread issue. I have contacted Mattel for a replacement.
Pretty disheartening to see the Mattel team advocate how "collector focused" this line is, only to see oversights such as that overbite.. 🤷♂🦖

Agreed. While I respect Mattel's enthusiasm, the final products don't live up to the hype.
And enters Nanmu Studios, making screen accurate JP/JW poseable dinosaurs. The JP3 raptors are on pre-order now (big bad toy store). They're working on a carnotaurus, rexy, and I believe the spinosaurus now 😲

Yeah, it's a shame that QC seems to get in the way of the great work they are doing a lot of the time.
Just bought the last one in my area, it's on clearance in target online for $12 but target was selling it for $10 in-store. No issue with the lower jaw but the dead eye is a thing and the overall quality of the sculpt leaves much to be desired. The Carnotaurus is beautiful on the other hand, although it also has a bit of a dead eye thing going from some angles. It's not as bad because the eye is a lot smaller in comparison to the figure.
They really dropped the ball on this sculpt. The dead eye and bad lower jaw look like some dollar store knock off item.
The lower jaw seems to be a widespread issue unfortunately.
@@JurassicCollectables seems to be an issue only in america as I've seen other videos from international youtubers whose raptor's lower jaw isnt longer than the upper one.
Dude, It's ALMOST perfect. SO CLOSE. Hopefully the jaw is just a production fluke and not how most of them will end up. I dunno why Mattel is giving the glass eyes to the small figures? Like it doesn't work and I'm not sure how this wasn't obvious to Mattel early on? I have the Dimetrodon and the eyes look like empty sockets :\ even in a well lit area. The glass eyes do look nice on the bigger Carnotaurus and T.rex figures (though I'd prefer painted eyes with a gloss coat personally). Yes yes yes I know there are artists that 3D print replacement improvements for these toys... I'm talking from the perspective of the average consumer/collector/kid.
Aside from that... The body looks great especially for a small figure! Such an improvement! Thank you for side-by-side comparing the previous toy to the new sculpt.

Your review saved me from disappointment!As you said its not a bad figure,but not great either.This lower jaw is unacceptable. At least they are improving.Maybe they will make a great Lost World raptor figure🙂Great review!
Thanks for checking this out! I've heard that the lower jaw is a fault and later releases should have it corrected, so worth keeping an eye out for when it is addressed!
Mine doesn't have the jaw issue so either you got a bad one or I got a reissue with the problem corrected.
Nice figure, but i really do not like the glass eyes at all. If done right it would look good, but would be better if they played it safe and painted them. IMHO if Mattel wants to introduce something new they need to make sure it works. Same goes for the neck articulation of the Brachiosaurus.
I agree wholeheartedly. The concept of the glass eyes is cool, but unfortunately they don't work that well in reality!

IMO, the amber collection one is way better.
My blue does not have the overbite or any paint smudges i guess you got so unlucky

Ofc the one dinosaur that they announced that had better proportions had some of the worst paint and qc on any of the Hammond collection figures so far, they do better in one area that we complain about and drop the ball on the other area that they were originally getting somewhat better at

nooo... at this rate i previous the previous sculpt. even with the large feet previously its still better proportioned. this new HC blue has horrible quality control with the paint. HORRIBLE lower haw that mimics the issue with AC compy. balance issues. stripes in the movie arent supposed to touch the thigh. glass eyes arent there yet, dead eyea. and no articulation in the wrist? what is happening
The previous HC raptors had no articulation in their wrists too. And that lower jaw is a widespread issue. It’s not atrocious for every copy
I really don’t like the lips, lower jaw longer than the upper jaw! And the feet 🤔🤷🏻♂️
The lower jaw is a QC issue which has effected man figures - hopefully it is fixed soon!
I bought the Hammond Collection Rex when it was on offer. I won't buy any more Hammond figures. They are crap.
It's fair enough - I think the QC definitely needs work on them!
