For easy starts, press the decompression button, set saw to full choke, do a slow pull (about 4 rotations of the crank) flick it down to half choke and one good pull and it'll start. Learned it from a arborist forum. It's great
I figured that one out on my own. My ritual is full choke 3 pops then 3 more (slow pull). Flick over to the start setting and it fires in 1 - 3 pulls every time.
Yep this is how I start my ms660, another trick I learned from an arborist forum is to shake the saw to build pressure in the tank, do the full choke slow pull with decomp, and then one good pull half choke and it starts first pull every time
My G660 Pro 36" with the Hyway muffler and corrugated paper air filter really took 10-15 tanks to wake up. I just got the Holz G466 and started it up, adjusted the idle speed and L jet and let it run for 15 minutes. It's a birthday gift to my son for his 44th next week.
Great to hear of another good supplier! That "doohickey" is a spitback guard, to try and keep the filter dry. I prefer the foam insert over it but haven't tried running without either. Clearly way more restrictive than I thought😮 The switch rod and throttle trigger are the only hard parts I've replaced with oem Stihl on my g660 pro, now about 9 out of 10 times fast idle works!😅
Checking out their site right now split screen. Seems like they have some fair pricing! Congratulations! I have had my eyes on the clone 044 and 066 saws so this was timely.
I bought the standard G660 almost 2 years ago. After 4 or 5 tanks, i put a Hyway DP on it that I first gutted, and retuned the carb. It pulls a 28" 404 bar and chain like a boss. I also have a 42" bar with a 375 full skip chain. I dont like running big saws if i don't need to, but when i need to, I love this saw ;)
Ahhh a familiar sound :) Prolly still has the high idle issues I used to fix by putting in OEM trigger/controls . They are cheap upgrades. Careful though, Farmertec stuff can be addicting as you can accomplish so much for so much less....( Hobby/mod & Build stuff )
That foam part you took out absorbs fuel splatter from the carb. You might get a little better performance for a while, until the paper filter gets soaked with two-cycle oil and starts to plug the filter fibers and then you get less performance until you replace the filter or clean it with gas. It is there for a reason. They don't put extra parts in a saw just for the hell of it.
Try a hyway dual port on this saw. It wakes them right up big time! This saw is a replica of the ms660 stihl. The 0 series totally different animal pre epa screamers. Like your 064 pre epa animal. Speaking of wish youd show that puppy off. Its a nice machine.
I did that, gutted the inside of muffler, base gasket delete, hyway big bore with popup piston. 180 PSI compression cold. It pulls the 8 pin sprocket without issue. Cuts wood like a laser.
So to clarify on some stuff. The warranty is a 3 month commercial or 6 month residential parts warranty. So no need to send the saw back to us just let us know what needs to be replaced and will get a new part out to you. This is the clone of the MS660. Yes Boedy you are correct the Pro model comes with a Nikasil cylinder, Meteor piston, walbro carb and some other items. Can not wait to see what you have in store for it, also have a New line of custom products coming in that we can test out on this saw.
I've put a couple of gallons through a G660 Pro and I love the thing! Runs like a scolded dog and hasn't given me a single issue so far. It has a Nikasil coated cylinder, Meteor Piston, Caber rings and NGK plug. Also has a better pull handle and better recoil system.
I think the intake side of things is neglected a LOT by people. They are there to keep the decibels down and reduce spitback. A lot of them are restrictive in order to reduce noise.
Oh yeah it's flooded. On a cold start up my G660 Pro floods easy, but it really woke up after 10 tanks to set in. Of course I did muffler mod and tuned to 4 stroke burble when I let up in the cut with a 36" full house buried in 40" knotty pine. FYI: I also replaced the oiler spring, because the stock was carving a groove in the casing, the pot metal chain adjuster with oem and oil pump with an Farmertec high output oil pump at maximum. Same oiler problem as oem Stihl ms660 with any bar longer than 24".
I am an agricultural contractor in ireland and it always makes me laugh seeing big guy on such a small tractor. Couldn’t believe it lifted the log , a little sketchy but it did it 😂.
What kinda dog is that? I got bulldog/ Ridgeback pups. I got neotec 92 looks like that. It's very strong and fast. Just the hi screw a little & the muffler outlet .
The saw does have the fat base sound. Hope things work out, with the membership stuff. Maybe you can get a little bit bigger machine to place the logs with.

That's a good saw for someone one without alot of money that needs a big saw.I have one and its served me very well.I also run a 28* on.mine with full comp chain.the dawgs on them are pretty crappyand the switch gives me trouble from ti!e to.time, but overall its a big powerful saw well worth the $400
I don't pay attention to warranties because I void them 😊
It suck’s ordering parts so u can put ur saw back in original condition before taking it in for warranty 😂
@@jaydee2620 no doubt 😜
Yea I know like a muffler makes any difference on the saw they built it's ridiculous
Improvement s should help warranties
You're d**n right.

@@MrBooMY3 I Do this as well. so easy. When its cold it takes 4-5 slow pulls and in the heat of summer 2-3 is good.

Congratulations on the new sponsor! Well earned/deserved. That 660 ran really well.
Good company...ive bought a few saws from them...good prices and fast shipping 🤙🏻😎

Prolly isn't a word. Probably might have done better to pay attention in elementary school, huh?😂
@yungsmile7546 I found the teacher guy's. Don't hesitate to ask if you have a question.
