    It's not AI, it's quite a simple process of making cuts in the video based on the waveform audio (who is talking) and simply making the 1 and 0 guess that you want to see whoever is talking on screen. It’s amazing! But I don’t think it’s AI per se, more like great programming IF Joe speaks, THEN cut to Joe’s camera, etc etc. it’s a lot like the abiotic Premiere et al can sync audio files and how you can build
    a comp automatically in AE from a Premiere sequence using dynamic link. Also very much like Automatic Duck did this in the late 90s. Also intelligent Assistance and other scripting extensions from decades ago. BUT it is Way cool for podcasts etc ! In Resolve Studio, you can have a feature called workflow integration where you can automate editing based on some scripts that you can write, so if you have more than 1 audio input, one for each person, I don't see how this wouldn't be possible as well. Meaning if you use something like Rode Wireless GO mics that merge the audio into one track in your camera, it literally won't work. Hard to understand why, given in your demo it appears to be making all of its cuts on the VIDEO and doing nothing to the audio tracks. No idea why it would have to be so limiting in this specific way.

    Does this AI look through the folders of clips in the footage pool and automatically make a multitrack timeline from it all? I shoot weddings and am looking for a faster way to catch up with my backlog. I use Sony Vegas Pro 18 but am willing to change platforms. Typically, I use three video cameras (all Sony A7IV and A7C) which have Rode Wireless Go radio mics attached to all of them. I use gimbals for the preps, drinks reception, bride & groom walkabout shots. I use three cameras to film the whole ceremony, speeches and dances. I use drones for the venue footage opener and endings. I also use the music used on the day under license for offline copies to the customer. It takes me about 5-6 hours to edit a 1hr documentary movie with all the 'on the move' parts of the day cut in time to music, and the full ceremony, speeches and dances muilticam. When I do the gimbal parts of the day, I like to cut the clips for being in time with the music, mostly in 50% slow motion and to make sure that the cut is a clean single direction gimbal movement (I tend to slowly move and rotate the camera around the subject in a circular parallax kind of way). Will there be something that can learn my style and do all this for me?

    Honestly this edit hurt a bit watching because it was cutting too quickly. I would prefer if it would leave the camera on someone longer, especially when two people are going back and forth like that. It's good if it goes fast for speaking longer, to cut back to the other person, but for short sentences it was difficult to watch.

    There a couple things I don't like about this:
    1. If you have a lot of people close together, then you need to mute/unmute mics to avoid phasing issues. It'd be nice if Autopod cut audio as well as video (I guess audio-only podcasts can kick rocks? :)
    2. It doesn't actually work on multicams, you need to have each camera on separate tracks. Not ideal for quickly changing shot selection, or minimizing the chance for breaking sync when making other edits.

      This. Tried it, it is wonky at best. Not really ideal product. And its not AI, it just recognizes when someone speaks and cuts the scene + cuts again when the part is too long.

    Is it possible to use multicam view to watch on preview both or more cams in same time, to know if someone make some face expression or something to can put that in show?

    JFC that's good. I mean there's bits where I would have stayed on one face while the other person asks or answers but that's a better edit than most YT creators I know would be able to do when starting a channel.

    They've successfully figured out how to create a *sidechain/gate/choke* effect for video.
    If you do music production, you know exactly what I'm talking about.
    But if you're not familiar with music production software, I'll explain it in lay man terms. Basically if you sidechain/gate or put a choke on audio, you're just allowing for one audio to duck another audio source so they don't play at the same time. Like when you hear a dj talking over music, the music volume ducks a little so the voice can be heard, then when he finishes talking, the music goes back to regular volume.
    So take that technique and apply it not only to audio, but video. So not only are you ducking audio, you're allowing the video to switch to the one that's active when you're talking.
    Maaaan, i wish i could program, because there's so many other techniques in music production software that i could make available to video as well.
    IYKYK.

    • @imthirun
      @imthirun ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Premiere already have an auto-ducking feature where you can tag audio channels as 'dialogue' 'sfx' 'music' and premiere will auto duck the music channel whenever someone is speaking in voice dialogue channel.

    • @aaronbazil
      @aaronbazil ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Thiru N Right, by the brilliant idea was to 'duck' the video as well, but not to music, but other dialogue. That's what this AutoPod app is simply doing.
      Another brilliant idea, which is coming soon if not already here, is the 360 cameras and having Ai software give you suggested framing and shots, AND cutting between them.
      AI can already write script and suggest shots through text, BUT the genius idea is to input footage from 360 cameras and letting it suggest the shots and the edit, and WHY.

  • @Aspratt86
    @Aspratt86 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    just to be clear, you are going to watch the whole thing again for review.. right? Any editor worth their weight can give this a once over edit run through and cut it down to what they want, which is what the "AI" did. Now your client is going to review the cuts for first round revisions. So what time did you really save? Yeah the AI cut it down in 47 seconds, but you can't trust the AI so you have to review in real time.
    Still pretty neat tech though.

      I don’t think so, but you just never know. Although, AI didn’t produce the ideas that are shared on the podcast so there’s one thing. Maybe some of us will need to move away from the menial editing tasks and let AI have it’s way with a basic cut and colour but for concept development, ideation, project management, creativity and real execution on concept - that will still need human intervention I believe. The AI revolution (at this stage anyway) is just tools to enhance productivity.

  •  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Sweet! However, the person requesting a multicam podcast edit will still need to hire an editor no matter what, considering that that particular person knows nada about editing. AI is great in these scenarios but you still need to know your stuff at least a little bit in order to check it and correct it if needed. Not to mention that someone has to do the audio mix such as normalizing the levels, adding compression, eq and limiter for instance.

  • @rmsv

    I am afraid switching between feeds based only on audio will fail to capture what's going on on the set if someone has a facial reaction to something the other guy says that is worth filming but is otherwise silent.

    I've got a master plan. Set up an account that does podcast editing, then set your prices at around a $100 price margin and then after that, just use this AI bot to do all the work for you and boom, you got yourself $971 profit, if you make 10 deals per month.

    I film bar band performances where I have 4 cameras running and then have to edit about a 2 hour show. Anything to edit a music performance like this? I doubt it would work as there is only 1 person singing and not sure how it would know to go to guitars, drums, etc.

    Sucks that you need separate audio tracks for each person. If they can do this off of one audio track, then that would be great.
