Stevo Canuck Well I knew harmonics (natural harmonics atleast) already when starting fingerstyle but yeah, I got the idea of slapping the strings from him as he was the first person on TH-cam I saw doing fingerstyle. So after my first fingerstyle cover (one of Sungha's cover actually), I decided to make my very first arrangement ('Good Time' by Owl City) and since it had a beat, I just sat down and figured out how to do it on my own. :)

It's been 3 years, I still remember when I first heard this song I just ended my high school last semester exam, and i was looking forward for all kind of adventures as I will move into city for my Uni life, and there's when i met my love, although we broke up (recently heh). But now i accidentally listened back to this song makes me reminded myself how passionate and excited was I towards my new life. It gave me the feeling of hope somehow

I can tell by the way you hold your fingers on the guitar that you really been blessed big God to play at this instrument . I think you already know that 99% is work and 1% is talent. 5 years past, your music still makes me feel cozy
To all the doubters that don't see them playing like him anytime soon, it's the dedication, passion, and devotion that drives skill to endless levels. Talent doesn't go very far without practice, and that's what got Sungha to where he is now. There's a fine line between talent and skill, however. Although most of us aren't born with the talent of his calibre, you can still become skilled with practice and determination. YOU CAN do it!!!
Instead of feeling jealous (like many people who commented on this video) I feel inspired and peaceful. I don't feel any "I wish I could do that" or "I'll never be able to do that". I feel "I WILL do a song like that or better". People see a master do work and they feel worthless. I once felt worthless too. But I don't feel worthless now.

I know what you mean. Every day it feels like I'm slowly getting closer to one day being at his level. I've only been playing guitar for a bit over one and a half years, but I've had amazing teachers and I've progressed tremendously due to their help. Many of my friends and family members are surprised by the guitar level I've obtained in such a short time, but when I see him playing multiple songs at the same level as my best ones I can tell that I still have a long way to go. I'm beginning to get close to that creativeness in creating songs, and I've been messing around with fingerpicking while making these songs. The toughest part is coming up with new sounds and finding a way to connect little pieces together to create a beautiful whole that meets your expectations. It's a tough process, but it's definitely worth the struggle when you hear a song that you can call your own and be able to bring a smile to yourself and others.
7 years now, keep coming back to this. Feels like someone you love telling you that it’s all going to be okay!
I've been listening to this dude play his guitars for so long and it just feels like this one of those rare times when someone is a perfect mix of passion for something, dedication to a lifetime of practice, a natural ability for the combination of physical skill and creative genius as a pair, the exact optimal whatever factors in his environment to make him the most motivated to get better at something when he was already better than basically everyone else he knew on the earth.
Mr. Jung I don't know if you read your comments on your videos. Just wanted to say that your music inspires me. I don't know what it is about it, but this song can always put a smile on my face no matter what mood I'm in. I'm a guitarist as well and I know I'll never be quite as good as you are but I'm trying my best to get close. I'm trying to find a video of you that I haven't seen yet but I'm having a hard time. When I'm alone I just find myself going to TH-cam and typing in Sungha Jung. Every time. Keeps life light-hearted I guess. Keep it up. You're one in a trillion.

I do sing with guitar and I agree what leprechawn said but I just feel like there is something missing in the song.
Perhaps he does think of lyrics to go with his songs. I was wondering myself if he is singing along to some words in his head, that we cannot hear, since the way he plays reflects a person's voice. But he might not be able to sing well, so he just focuses on the instrumental part of it. I should like to ask him about that. ^.^
i hope that one day when sungha scrolls his old videos he will be able to notice this comment from his little fans who get healed and inspired by this song. Felicity is the reason why I love Sungha so much.
