Oh my goodness I can’t believe it I read this book when I was 11 years old and I’ve never forgotten it I loved it and that’s many decades ago .Thank you so much .
'The Moon of Gomrath' will be up on the channel in a day or two, too... and I've got a documentary about Garner, 'The Weirdstone' and its impact on people which will be on the channel in about two hours time...
@@MysticalMagpie-wo5fn I’ve found the first book on another channel I’m glade you’v got the 2nd book will you be able to upload the 3rd from the series
why isn’t this author well known like CS Lewis. it’s such a good children’s story - the kind us adult kids love, too. it’s very well adapted as a radio play and a wonderful production thereof. thanks so much! :) on to the sequel 🌷🌱
Alan Garner is a paradox - in the UK his books have never been out of print and are considered classics... but as you say, he's never had the mass-recognition of Lewis and Tolkien (though critical opinion certainly places him in their league). As a 'bonus' I'm posting a short documentary about him ('Return to Brisingamen') later today...
I've got a whole playlist of stories adapted from children's novels - children's adventure stories are part of what this channel is about, and in December I'll be posting at least one children's story every day. Here's the playlist, you may find other stories you enjoy in there: th-cam.com/video/aBqKes_vByI/w-d-xo.html
There are several other Alan Garner plays on the channel, including an earlier adaptation of 'Weirdstone' and of course its sequel, The Moon of Gomrath...
I'm another of these big kids. A part of me that never grew up loves these stories and I'm not ashamed to admit it. Thank you so much for this. 😊

Do you have the full book by any chance?
@@NamasW24 Only dramatisations I'm afraid - but unabridged readings are commercially available.
