    That was the original F250 engine intake, that Ford mocked up in the GT350. That’s why it was turned upward…now they have modified and made the correct intake manifold to fit a car. The engine is close to the dimensions of a 351 Windsor, with a slightly taller deck height. It will fit in any Ford car with a small block. @REVan Evan is in the process of installing one in his ‘68 Mercury Cyclone as we speak.

    Just awesome, 7.3 Godzilla is a beast of a motor, 5.2 NA motor is awesome as well, can't go wrong with
    Ford performance is doing.

    If ford has the balls to put that into production, I’ll empty my 401K for one. The most recent GT500 with the duel clutch is my dream stang as it is and I missed out on that. I will not miss the boat on that one.

    Don't expect the Next GT500 to powered by anything that isn't a street version of the GT3's 5.4 coyote based V8 with an Eaton on top.

    as an aautomotive engineer all we need to do is CNC the plastic intake manifold mold and angle the throttle body side with a dual throttle body inlet angled for airflow ...no problem we can AutoCad design it and it will fit nicely .

      I read it is more of a truck motor - low end torque is AWESOME!
      The fastest Tesla's are getting jeally!
      ... though traction is probably the most difficult part of this motor in a regular RWD vehicle.

      @@DikeLover I do agree there's plenty of very good reasons to go coyote in my old lightning but I'm leaning more to the godzilla due to the torque and its a cam in block. Truck motor in a truck right. Kind of keeping with its original theme of the first gen. No blower, pushrod, earth moving torque to get that brick moving but with a boat ton more horsepower for the top end out of a modern motor is right up my ally.

    6:10 The intake "comes like that" because the 7.3 was made for the super duty. The engine sits so low in the super duty engine bay, they had to angle the intake upwards to reach the intake box, very similar to what is seen in the F150 with the 5.0 at 4:02. They literally took a super duty engine and stuck it in the S550 chassis, without modifying the motor. Ford Performance later came out with a "straight" intake manifold that can be purchased separately as seen in 1:47. Believe it or not, some people have seen a small loss of torque but decent hp gains by using the straight intake manifold.

    If that keep that in the s550 shell and change that cowl hood to a forced induction hood to make it sleeker, I’m totally behind this new beast…now FORD is getting it right!!!!….oh and those 700 Hp trucks are amazing. Better late than never!!!!

    Cool motor, but I hope they don't put this in the s650 from the factory. I get you can tune it easily. But beyond that, I don't see how a heavy, bulky slow reving truck engine that probably has a redline below 7k is a good fit for the mustang. Maybe for some 200k track only Cobra jet, but that's about it.

    They should be able to fit that intake manifold in the s650s more cleanly they moved the reservoir to the side giving more room up front

    That’s not ending up in the GT500 from the factory. The Predator makes more power and is lighter. This would be moving backwards.

      It won't make more power than the zilla once the blower is added.. 7.3 is huge displacement and instant never ending power.

      Stick a blower on the Megazilla, and it will make more power than the 5.2 and a ton more torque.

      @@l3wn3ytun3z4 7.3 weights 580 pounds (estimated, Ford has not released the official numbers), 5.2 is 534 pounds. Also the 5.2 being a flat plane it can reach those crazy RPMs which will delivery the power much fast than the 7.3.

      I've heard people tuning these puppies upwards of 600 hp. crazy. I wanted to build a factory 5 cobra and throw one of these in there but I might do a 5.2 voodoo instead cause I love the sound of the flat plane. plus it's rated 500 hp+ which is plenty for a lighter car.

    Don't make sense for the 7.3 being the cobra motor. I think the 5.4 coyote based motor in the mustang GT3 makes more sense

    To be honest I don't see a 7.3L Godzilla V8 on future S650 Mustangs. So this 7.3L Godzilla V8 is pretty much a concept, Ford will most likely keep using 5.0L Coyote V8 with little bump up horsepowers for their future S650 Mustang models, or the 5.2 Predator V8 for S650 GT500

    Why would Ford go backwards to a 2 valve push rod motor that would never pass emissions in a passenger car? That motor is a boat anchor and a very good truck motor. Just look at the 427 ci zo6 motor that makes less power than the 5.2 voodoo motor. Ford will never put a pushrod motor in a car again period! If we are lucky Ford may wake up and make a twin turbo V8 eco boost GT500 that makes at least 900 hp , but most likely we will get a hybrid of some sort and hopefully it will make a combined 900 hp. Now that Dodge set the bar at 1025 hp how does Ford top that? Most likely they won’t give that they cam out with a 700 hp Raptor to compete with the TRX 702 hp Hemi.

    All of the sports cars are moving towards transaxles set ups… I could see this but it would have to be a aluminum block and blower as well for it to be a cobra or gt500

    At least two cylinders extend past the shock mounts, and this means forget about balanced handling of any sort. If you dont have the chassis then forget about stuffing a bigger motor into it.

      Dude.. really? Lol. The pistons on a 6.2 extend by the crank on a 4th gen. It’s still comparable to stock injectors with or without coils.

    Imo they should’ve done this for the dark horse. I liked that the Shelby cars had their own unique engine, makes it worth the extra cash vs another mustang. Not a fan of a specialty car with a truck engine.

    615 HP is quite the drop from my stock 2022 760 HP GT500. …Lets hope Ford puts more HP than this in the next gen GT500.

    I heard someone saying the 700 package isn’t available on a long box, but only because of the stickers aren’t long enough at the moment. I’m sure they’ll fix that.
    Also, they’ve supposedly done a Godzilla intake with the throttle body mounting plate facing forward. It just hadn’t been made when the built the test car.

    Perfected 2025 gt350: 5.2 aluminator w/ flat plane crank, exhaust valves that stay open @crank and in 6th, magneride suspension, lightweight flywheel, carbon fiber driveshaft, recaro interior and carbon wheels.

    Perhaps keep the predator in the gt500, voodoo with FI while keeping it flat plane, and a cobra with the 7.3 megazilla! The aluminator engine or whatever can be used to revive the fusion and put the st name but kind of doubtful. It can be used in the explorer st and explorer st? Idk would be a dope trio and overall lineup but I'm more toyota so I'm not too knowing of what ford's engines are in terms of what's newer and what's going out.

    Hope Ford fixed the oil issue with the lifters in the 7.3. That would give the mustang the torque it needs.

    I don't see Ford putting the iron-block truck engine in the Mustang.
    I'd love to see a destroked 7.0L aluminum-block version, though. The engine probably wouldn't weigh any more than the Coyote, and would have more power. Win, win.

      @Twilight Media Just have electric motors power the front wheels, and that will significantly decrease 0-to-60 times and 60 ft times. GM is already using this recipe in the new C8 Corvette E Ray (6.2L pushrod V8 paired with electric motors) that's coming out for 2024. If Ford is smart, they do the same to stay competitive.

    Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should. if you want a quarter mile Red Eye, buy one. if you want a big screen TV jammed into a Camaro, buy the s650. Most of us want overall performance, reliability and a warranty. Mach 1 all day long baby.

    People better hope they fixed the lifters on the 7.3. Otherwise you're gonna be disappointed when it lands in the shop with a chewed up camshaft.

      The lifters have been fixed. BTW the lifters on the GM 6.2s had the sane issues. Weird it’s almost like they are getting lifters from the sane supplier.

      It closes. Thats why they had to make that ugly hood scoop on top. Im not sure if the same exact car or a different model. But it was already spotted awhile ago driving with that cowl hood. Meaning they was testing this engine

    615 is nice but the motor is heavier than the coyote and to make decent power you gotta build up the motor with cams and what not so to me imo the coyote is still superior

    It would be cool, but I doubt they’ll do such a build coming from the factory. They’ll just sell the kit perhaps but that’s as far as they’ll probably go.

    Why would Ford go backwards to a pushrod engine? Notice what Chevrolet did with the Corvette. They with with a DOHC motor. Hope Ford KEEPS the same GT500 motor, just make the car lighter and have the car where it can be tuned.

    why don’t they bring back the terminator …with the same design with slight changes…that’s manual …I feel like the markings on the car should have a horse 🐎 with a snake wrapped around the Horse after the horse has been bittinnn by the snake 🐍
    Why not drop the 7.3L in that ?

    Ford is the best. Period. I've had many cars but my Fords always let me run them the longest. Easiest to fix because Ford is rather practical. And the engines run a long time. GMC engines run a long time too I will admit tho. America ingenuity really does stand the test of time.......other car makers constantly have to remodel for a reason.

    I don't see that being in a GT500. Not at all. I'm not saying they won't put in a mustang. I just don't see them calling a new mustang with a 7.3 a GT500 but rather a GT7**

    I looked on the Ford build site, and couldn't find any way that you could get the 7.3 in the Mustang. Maybe you can get it in an F150? Also, what happened to the EcoBoost 5.5L? That was supposed to be a game changer. I'm going to the Oshkosh Air Show in July. I sure hope Ford is there again. They were a no show last year.

      From what ive read, the engine fits in just about any mustang as the 5.0s were pretty big to begin with dimension wise. Only problem is the angled intake to manifold. Some dude already threw one of these 7.3s into his s197. I think he may have modded his hood someway to make it work tho. His channel is on youtube and should be one of the first things that pops up.

    Only thing Ford needs to do now is make more budget cars. I had to buy a Subaru with a manual (which I wanted a manual) because I could not find a Maverick (with AWD, FX4, & Lariat), Bronco (with manual and Sasquatch), or Bronco Sport (with 2.0L). Aside from that, this Mustang looks very nice and am betting it will be in the six figure range which counts me out unfortunately. Me sad :(

      The Raptor R has a big ass supercharger sitting on top of the 5.2. "Megazilla" makes north of 600hp, naturally aspirated. Much more reliable power supercharged. And it's so heavy because it was designed as a workhorse engine. It was built to take a lot of stress, and can handle much more power than the 5.2.

    There is no way ford is going to release that high ass intake on a production mustang, won't pass pedestrian protection regs, looks daft and the hood scope opens up a shed load of problems .

    You're late to the party. Everyone knows the engine in the 350 is a stock godzilla and was only built as a test mule for the manual control pack. That is the only reason that car exists. Ford has never planned to offer a zilla powered mustang off the showroom floor.

    7.3 pushrod > 5.0 DOHC. Pushrod always wins. Just ask GM with their even better LS/LT motors.

    I wish ford would offer the 7.3 godzilla in the f150, don't get me wrong I love the 5.0 coyote that's in my f150 but if a 7.3 was in a f150, the 7.3 would pull the f150 like nothing.
