  • Hi ♡
I don't know if it is my Saturn Return that's making me think about switching things up again but it does indeed seem like the time has come to try something new. I still don't know if it is a big something new or a small something new but change is definitely in the air... I hope you enjoy this next chapter, whatever it may bring~

This video could not have came at a better time. THank you for being so open about things and showing vulnerability! I'm getting ready to make some big changes later this year and seeing how excited you are about this point in your life makes me feel at ease. It might sound cheesy but I really look up to you and hope that I am able to find the passion that you have

      Hey Jenn,
It was absolutely my pleasure to share these things. Before I started TH-cam, I didn't realize how cathartic it could be to share so openly with people I've never personally met - but, you guys always provide the best sounding board for whatever I am going through.

I hope you find a change that will make you feel more comfortable with where you are in your life. I moved in Seoul this year, been here for 2 months and at 25 I'm still kind of clueless on what I'm doing but, as you also mentioned, the uncertainty also makes it a little exciting (it actually stresses me out a lot but then it shifts to the feeling of being adventurous so I guess it works for now). Hope you're feeling good about sharing the video, I appreciate the honest confessional as someone who can relate in their own way.

      Hey Kon,
Thank you for your comment! First of all, welcome to Seoul! Secondly, your sentiment that the stress shifts into a feeling of adventure really resonated with me. Sometimes it takes a lot of work to positively reframe some of the more stressful times in my life (maybe that's what I am doing subconsciously here) but inevitably I always end up chasing the adventure lol. Even if I know it is rooted in stress... :s So far, it has always turned out well for me! I hope it does for you too~

It's great, to see you again! An apartment tour video would also be nice. I have seen the first two apartments where you have lived, but not the third apartment yet :)

I've been wanting to do an apartment tour for a while! But, the place is still so empty. I'll work on the finishing touches of decor and then make the most epic apartment tour for you~

it would be really cool if you could make a video talking about your job at the k beauty company :) like just your experience there and also how you got it and stuff

**LONG POST COMING I APOLOGIZE IN ADVANCE LOL**
I'm telling you that we're both going through the same thing lol.
I hate getting used to a place where I don't think I will stay for more than a few years. (I'm about to start my fifth year in Korea, XD)
But I definitely took the big risk of moving and looking for a new job. But it wasn't too bad because some of my friends moved with me to the north. A lot of my friends, however, reached the 4-year mark and decided it was time to go home.
I decided to use my skills in video production and graphic design to find work in Korea, and slowly but surely, I keep meeting people who work in or around that field. So it gives me a tiny bit of hope that what I'm doing might not be so crazy. It's also kind of making the fact that I'm close to 30 and making a hasty decision look less crazy lol.
I say this to say that I think making a change in your life, no matter what you plan to do, will be good for you. You could start small by just taking a trip outside of Korea (if possible). A lot of my decisions were made on flights to and from the U.S., which is kind of funny. Or even change job fields. Overall, it's totally normal for you to feel the way you do, so don't worry too much because you'll make the right choice for yourself in the end.

Hearing that a lot of people are still doing know what they are doing with there lives at 30 is scary to me. Before I turned 18 I felt like I had to have my life figured out and reach all of my goals I set. But I’m 20 and I have goals but not sure how long it’ll take me to reach it 🥲
(Crossing my fingers I can move to Korea in 2025 😭🤞🏾)

    • @CamilleBlais
      @CamilleBlais  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Take as long as you need! There's no stopwatch on achieving your goals, I promise. I'm proud to have achieved many of the goals I set for myself when I was younger; my main issue is that I keep getting tempted by new goals lol

Ok I feel the same way! I'm 25 and just spent the past year living in Seoul. I had to leave my teaching job because my manager was the worst so I came home to North America to relax and to figure out my next steps. This video was such a comfort! It helped me feel less alone because I was able to relate to everything you said! I loved Seoul and want to move back, but I do want to move to Germany someday or even France. The world is our oyster because it become so overwhelming right?

It's literally the burden of choice 😂

  • @leel.1037
    @leel.1037 ปีที่แล้ว

Camille! Thanks for sharing! I am literally like you right now. I'm almost 29 and I don't know what to choose anymore (and I feel so stuck) to get to the next "stable" steps in my future life. On my end, there are options, but choosing one makes me feel like I'm abandoning the others for a while. But I also tend to think that any choice that feels aligned with myself today would be a valid experience for my future self. So lately I've been asking myself more, "If I had a month left to live, how would I spend it? This helps me to be aware of what is really important to me today, to clarify my priorities and to make decisions in line with my values :) Btw I will be in Korea next month so would love to meet you if you happen to be free! -Amelie

The burden of choice! I feel you~~~ I love the question you proposed! I need to start asking myself that. 🫶🏻 ps. I hope you have the most amazing visit to Seoul! If you see me in the street, please come say hi!

Free therapy session 😂 Don't worry girl, we're here to listen anytime!
First it's totally normal to be confused about what you want in life specially when you have many choices, that's why they say "it's not good to have many choices" cause you just don't know what to pick, kinda like men, when there's many handsome and gentel men around, you're heart and mind will go crazy of who to love😂 (I don't know why i chose this example, it's not like I have bunch of Lee min ho around me, but anyway you get the point😂)
You know what I do when I'm confused, specially about work, I just write the pros and cons of everything and well as Muslim I pray for guidance. It's good if you could only speak with people who are very close to you about your decisions.
Personally, you can try to move to another city maybe as a first small step, to see how things are there, before moving to another country. I know that most people nowadays are afraid to settle, so if you're not ready as well, just don't think about it too much, it doesn't really matter if you're 30, 35 or even 40, when it's the right time, everything will fall into place!
It may sound cliché but just follow what you heart says, take time for yourself and sit somewhere calm and think of what you truly want.
Sorry this is a long comment 🤦🏻‍♀️😅
For the questions, please I have a couple of those :
    1) My friend wants to be an English teacher in South Korea but the problem is they don't accept English teachers who come from none native countries (we both are from Morocco btw), does she have to go and apply directly to schools there?
    2) I'm a content writer and event organiser myself, and I just studied PR online 😅, many jobs in SK fit my profile but when I apply, I get rejection mostly, do companies there sponsor foreigners, or do I have to go to SK to apply directly?
Thank you so much Camille 🙏🏻

I LOVE a good pros and cons list. I am actually working on one right now~ lol I also couldn't agree more about settling. I think sometimes I feel pressured based on what my friends are doing, but I always try to remind myself that that is their journey and I am on my own journey. Thank you for spending the time to write this detailed comment. 🤍

I remember you saying that you wanted to do your masters. Would you consider looking into a masters? I have a couple masters programs in Europe (especially Germany Cause education is free there) that I’m looking at for after I eventually leave korea

Been looking at doing a Masters in Germany too, haha
Unfortunately while it’s free to get a degree there, still gotta save up enough to cover a year of living expenses 😅

re: Coyote Long. - This is so true! Getting a degree abroad sounds great until I remember I probably can't work when I am there... lol Double my savings goal it is then!

You can work up to 20 hrs a week in Germany on a student visa! 🙂 No more than that though
Between your savings and that, you’d likely have enough to study in Germany. IDK how France is, though!
