Just did this on my 2014 golf 7 1,4 tsi, can say that all the tools matched but space was vastly different, hade to use an allenkey for slider bolts which took ages and to get the caliper mount off there was simply no way of going with an extension.
all in all took me about 3 hrs and was a learning experience, i did replace one caliper so my install was a bit different, bled the brakes but didnt do a 100% job, gonna try again tomorrow.

Every single fastener had been loosened previously and both the wheel and the disc (rotor) had been freed off prior to filming, this is a fantasy version of the job. Completely different to a real world situation. Impractical for real people to use as info.

How would a video of someone having to fight with a wheel nut help you in any way

@@davidwilliams8708 Glad you asked, most people watching this are not skilled techs and have no idea how to loosen a stuck fastener, for instance most times it isn’t the thread that’s rusted, it’s the contact face of the fastener head, a sharp rap sideways with a brass punch will often loosen it. The point I was making is that the most difficult part of the job (loosening rusted/stuck parts) is missing in this video, it’s over-simplified making it appear far more easy than it actually is. The reality was that the wheel on my Golf had corroded onto the hub, which had to be freed without damaging anything, the countersunk screws retaining the brake disc were rusted in and needed drilling out, there were other problems encountered which are not even hinted at in this film, hence my comment re it being a fantasy version. For the record the wheel nuts didn’t fight back.

Is there a reason your video doesn´t contain any torque values of any type of seen screws. Imho this is a real safety issue. Really not cool !

You say to use a large extension to remove the carrier bolts, then show a clip of them not using a large extension

Hi @Alan Cooney. Thanks. For the music, we had to come up with something. It’s hard to please everybody. We hope it didn’t stop you from performing the operation.

Càn I just leave the hand brake off? I dont have a conputer to connect.

Nope. You can do it with a power probe though. You can’t just release the handbrake because the motor will be out
