    iPhone X rework is difficult because of the challenges presented by the iPhone X split board. In order to perform any board level repair on the middle sides, the iPhone X board must be split, reballed, and soldered back together. This is how we do it.

    I only discovered Jessa's diagnostic and repair videos about a week ago. Geek as I am, I've been binge-watching them since then, along with Loius Rossmann's videos, and learning so much about what makes iPhones, iPads and Macs tick and how to diagnose and repair them. Microsoldering techniques, using schematic board viewers, the tools required and how to use them -- Jessa's style is so logical and so clear. I'm not surprised, seeing as she's got a Ph.D. in molecular biology. Academic discipline is front and center in what she does, along with great acerbic wit. I have huge respect for Jessa's technical skills, and also for her business where, from what I read, she employs stay-home moms and dads on flexible schedules.

    I am thinking about sticking with the old trusty PPwoneng 120E The outer edge of the of the heat play gets really hot 🥵 so it might work awesome for iPhone 📲 x but I dislike is the heat of the heater it’s so tall hard to keep things stable while pulling or placing chips 🤔😳

    Jessa thanks for the vid. I did not understand you're going low below 183C to avoid damage to the cpu? that's why it takes so long for the balls to melt?

    Maybe you can give me an answer to this Jess or somebody else I can't find it anywhere. Why are the circuit boards gold plated not silver-plated...? silver plating has free electrons and no resistance gold is about 13% more resistant and it's expensive for manufacturing so why don't they silver-plated instead of gold plaited...? The only thing I can think of is that it tarnish but the board is covered with a mask anyway that wouldn't be a problem so I don't know.

    i find iPhone x is flux consuming machine better to use rosin, i hate the mechanic preheater they are really suck

  • @AymanTheRepairTech
    @AymanTheRepairTech 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    The pads which responsible for touch is the most heat consuming because of the big number of ground pads near them & i have learned from some friends in Vietnam that if you lift up the stencil after spreading the solder paste would make it easier reballing and indeed it is, nice video edit best of luck

    • @JessaJones
      @JessaJones  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      We know that many use the “silk screen” method for iPhone X reball. In our hands it makes uneven balls and seems to be hit or miss. Is there some trick to it?

    • @AymanTheRepairTech
      @AymanTheRepairTech 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JessaJones nothing special, just dry the paste with tissue before using it, i think what makes it uneven is the flux in the paste

    • @davidtorres8426
      @davidtorres8426 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting, I was reballing one the other day and noticed that when The stencil lifted/bent from heat the solder paste was left on the board in little square shapes
      I figured If we lift it completely then probably the reball would be much easier, have to still try it thought,
      Jessa I know you mentioned that you just had the regular paste but that is not the paste your recommend right? You should use a lower temp paste for this.
