When conjuring 2 came I thought valak on the background would scare me but it was predictable. What really scared was when Lorraine came out of nowhere to talk to his daughter lol.
I always wondered what I really consider the attic face in exorcist. It's definitely not for the character, but Friedken never wanted to just BOO at us like children
@@InCinematic I literally just learned this morning that exorcist director and author were friends but had a falling out since the producer wanted it to focus psychological issues and the priests more than horror. Read it a few times and that's definitely true. That's why certain scenes were cut outright

Interesting, but you missed out 'The Invisible man' (2020) where in one sequence the camera reframes a couple of times from the main character, anticipating something, ultimately invisible...

So many people assume they're just to scare the audience, but they really help set up the film. The Exorcist is a great example!
