your artstyle would be called CC soda. (cotton candy soda) ITS SO WARM AND AUSJFHASHJADS the space girl you drew looks like she would be a really cool friend to go stargazing with and making sandcastles out of moon sand. I love her
I'm annoyed when I encounter this on Pinterest! This type of thinking has been rampant there for a while. If I've had a coin every time I've found some nice art and the comments were like "what style?" I would be a millionare. Like it's just the artist's own style? The other thing, which is less annoying and more understandable is when it's clearly some personal art that happens to have an anime stlye and people ask "what anime?" and it's an OC. An animation studio wouldn't make something like that, which is clear to me and other artists but I guess it isn't to people who view art as content that can be conveniently searched and consumed.
i definitely understand the annoyance! i feel like especially on pinterest, asking for artist names is better since a lot of the work on there is unfortunately reposted without credit; so the artist can get seen more and the og commenter can get similar art so its a win-win!! 😓
Sadly, pinterest is also a cesspool of idiots :sob:, hey just either overcategorize eveything or mistake someone's pretty art for an anime for no reason like they've never seen anime before
I’m genuinely not sure if this has been said already but: Isn’t there a chance it’s the ai bros asking to generate your style easier? That’s what I’ve at least heard
A BIT UNRELATED BUT CONFETTI CAKE ARTSTYLE ACTUALLY SOUNDS SO SILLY AND CUTE AND IT MATCHES THE ARTSYLE SO WELL🙏🙏 Edit: IM WHEEZING??? UNICORN DIARRHEA STYLE💀💀🙏🙏
This becomes very interesting when you consider modern day art style discourse in conversation with how we've historically described art movements over the centuries of human existence. Think Impressionism, Expressionism, Surrealism, Neo-Classicism, etc... These are all categories based largely on the visual style and techniques used in the artwork, but it's also worth considering that the values, beliefs, and politics expressed by the artists themselves also plays a significant role in this categorisation. Notable to this discussion is how art movements are more broad in scope than what we tend to talk about today, usually encompassing a multitude of artists and works over a period of a decade or more. There were often individual artists who were considered especially emblematic of or leaders in these styles (like Picasso for Cubism or van Gogh for post-impressionism), but as a whole art movements were never the work of just one person. Contrast that with today, where the proliferation of the internet seems to accelerate every discourse and social movement at a speed historically unprecedented. A person today on any social media will likely see and be inspired by more individual artworks and artists in one year than artists from older time periods would ever see throughout their entire lives. The way we talk about art has changed a lot as a result, and I think an "art style" as it tends to be discussed lately has become something of a mixed-up hybrid of two of the traditional definitions of the concept: "art style" in the more extensive sense, often used synonymously with or in the description of art movements and cultures as a whole; and "art style" as a term for the technique and aesthetics present in the works of an individual artist, often during just one relatively narrow period of their artistic career, given styles tend to change over time. Perhaps much of the frustration and confusion present in today's art style discourse comes from a general failure to recognise that these two definitions are related concepts with some overlap, rather than the same concept, or two completely separate concepts. I don't really have point here, I just thought this was interesting. Maybe modern discourse could benefit from stepping back and discussing individual art styles vs art movements with more nuance and consideration of the differences there? Then again, trying to make a solid distinction between the two concepts in the internet age would likely be the cause for even more mostly pointless categorisation, and I'm not sure that's what we need right now. Ultimately, I think the sentiment expressed in this video is a good one. Just don't worry so much about it, and leave it to future art historians to sort all this out.
I wanna call mine the marshmallow art style !!^_^ Also, yes. I constantly wanna see the same scrum-diddly-umptious art the ENTIRE TIME !! I'm just too obsessed w cute, colourful, and chunky art.. 😔
Honestly, the idea of naming artstyles sounds really fun imo, but I mean, it CAN become too much, like come on, save some names for the rest of us! Also, The Confetti Cake artstyle suits urs fr fr! (I'd personally name my art style "The LemonMint style" because why not? It fits lol.)
Off topic but you're art style definitely fits "confetti cake" so much, it looks like cake frosting and confetti, though it looks more like "retro frosting" because your art is aesthetic and looks like cake icing
And this is why I’m not interested in joining the art community (because I’m scared of how others would react to my artstyle, which is more cutesy and the eyes are squares).

This is something that really bothers me. I have friends who post their artwork (I only post edit videos, but I love to draw in my free time), and they often get asked, "What's your art style called?" It's frustrating because it can feel demanding. If you're going to ask an artist a question like that, please be more respectful in how you approach it rather than demanding an answer. And if you're not the creator of the art/video, please don't assume that every art style has a specific name-be mindful of how you engage with artists. I understand why many people get upset about the issue of "art style over-categorization," but it doesn’t need to lead to a full-on argument. Most people who watch creators like Bre understand the importance of being respectful and open-minded when asking questions. However, for those who approach artists in a demanding way, please reconsider. You might be upsetting the artist or making them feel uncomfortable, and that's not fair to them. This isn’t just about "art style over-categorization," either. There are other issues in the art community, like people demanding that an artist draw their OC or criticizing their work in unfair ways. There's a lot more to talk about beyond this example, but it's important to approach all of these topics with kindness and respect.
I've been seeing this allot on Pinterest personally I'm neutral it can be convenient when looking for reference in an a certain style you like, wanna see or study but oh boy can it get annoying sometimes and I don't know how common this is but when artists answer with it's just my style it doesn't have a name people get so rude like that's not an answer give a proper answer or just get mad at the artist for not knowing what to classify their art as it's just overall hella unnecessary
UR SO CLOSE TO 100K!! ive been here when you used to be SO underrated and im so happy to see how much you grow; especially since youve been my idol since the start.
I left tiktok around 3 years ago now because I lost access to my old email and the community was just hella toxic. And I'm glad I left when I did because it just seems to have gotten so much worse. I understand if people find it annoying and such but they don't have to harass someone over that, especially if they're having fun with it. Hell I might even name my artstyle after this it sounds really cool. Either way I do wish people that mainly use tiktok can just be respectful of others because it's just created such a toxic environment on there.
Might be late to the party hi guys 😞 But this is a take I definitely needed to hear!! I was definitely on the other side of this discussion with the “we don’t need names for everything”, but as a whole it really isn’t that serious from an issue standpoint 😭 ArtTok tends to be inflammatory on both sides. Art styles don’t need names-but it’s still neat to give them ones!! Amazing take as always RAHHH 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Slightly off topic but i like the way u chose colors for u art and what colors u use to shade!! it would be really cool to see a video sharing how u chose colors, shade and kinda how to draw like u in general :3 i love studying my fav artists artsyles and using it to develop my own and im sure alot of people can relate >:D
I get that this might be kind of annoying to have a lot of artstyle names but when I see a piece of art on Pinterest I wonder ooooo, that looks cool! But I don’t know what keywords to search up 😢 (I love your videos) and I like artstyle names)
exactly! this is why i dont find it to be as big of an issue as its made out to be! its mainly just to help look for similar styles since the existing categories (realism, semi-realism, cartoony, etc) can sometimes be too broad! honestly though since a lot of the answers to “whats that art style” is “idk/it doesnt have a name” another good ask is: whats you inspirations??/whos the og artist?? it usually helps out since it could bring more of the same or a similar style to your feed and can bring attention to cool artsits :3
Ok now I want to name styles for my favorite shows (even though some of them I’ve rarely seen in other shows other than its own) simply by watching this video. After I watched this, I don’t really have an opinion but I think the same thing as you (that tends to happen with me when I watch these types of videos, and depending on what I watched, I’ll also probably mix in my own opinions into it). I love your videos so much. Also, I love your arty style. I would honestly call your art style called the berry cream soda art style.
I think my only issue isn’t people giving styles names, it’s how people constantly ask “What’s the style’s name??” When it’s more on the uncommon side to name styles. I wish there was a way for people to know when someone has a style name or doesn’t, that would solve a lot of problems
Bre thank you so much for inspiring “my” style it makes me feel proud to know how I get this style where it is now Sorry if you don’t completely understand what I’m saying😅but love this vid!!!!
I started to use the brushes that you use and tried taking inspo from your style but keep the feel of my style and i think it really helped, i used to try to keep my style as original as possible, like no tutorials or references (which isnt bad) but i think trying to branch out of my comfort zone in art really helped! Your art inspires me to keep drawing and to try to get better. (Thats all. This is kinda a long comment)
Off topic but I’ve been watching soo many of your videos and noticed you’re like an inch away from hitting 100k 😭 what the hellllll, I could’ve sworn you were at 30k just a few months ago Anyway I’m so happy for you and so proud of you I’m only now subscribing though and although that kinda sucks, just glad to say I subscribed BEFORE you hit your one hundred thousand milestone!! Congrats 🎉❤
bre your art is so yummy it makes me feel so happy about my art because i draw in a kind of similar way and you’re such an inspiration to me remember to stay silly 🐺🐺🐺
kind of related to the video, if your style had a name i personally would probably call it the avocado style🙏 like the texture of your art reminds me of an avocado idk😣😣 (i love your art and videos😼)
I feel like it’d be colorful glitter pop artstyle, it may sound cringe but I feel like it’d match and obviously in a good way since it’s very colorful and it pops in my opinion:3
When people ask me what my artstyle is called, I can't answer in one word - and that's fine.. It's cartoony with manga-influence and doesn't need a label.
i think in 2018-2020 from the flipaclip animation memes i saw, it looked like the artstyles looked so similar to the other animation memes at the time, feels nice to know it wasnt just me who think this at least
I just named my art style "WhateverThePotatoThinks". I think your's should be named "Deluoius Unicorn Cotton Candy Sprinkles" it's just gives that kinda vibe. Great video btw❤
As an artist who doesn't have a set stylistic restriction (as i do multipe mediums and there are different ways of for example painting a portrait with acrylics and designing a character for animation) i feel really weird about naming an art style and sticking to it, especially because as you improve, your art is bound to change and grow. In my opinion trying to fit a label isn't a very productive thing, do art the way you want, change things about it when you don't feel like they fit the vibe! The main point is, you should like what you make and the ways you personally use to make it.
At this point i hope in near future nobody randomlys label my artstyle. After all it take away the independent part of artstyle. It your artstyle your way to express yourself that is my opinion
To be honest, it's like you say: there is no problem with that, as long as it is not taken to the extreme. A possible name for your style would be: soft colorful (that's what came to mind 😅)
My style would be called Random Rando because idk, I take inpso every day😩 it changes, and you’re art style I think would be called SweetJelly because it makes me think of the jelly art style, but cartoony
I feel like a cool name for your style could either be the cake batter style just bc idk how to explain it but your art style looks squishy or like it would be smth like cake batter
If you going to name the styleI think will be the yapper colors Cuz 1- you really love to yep 2-it's really colorful Or yapping pastel the muddy 1- because the pastel color that you use 2 some of them are really muddy but it's really beautiful 3 and because you are loved yapping❤
Idk if it's just the drawing of the video but I would think your style would be something along a alien style because of the big eyes and the bright colors that or bug style because well same reason big eyes variety in colors (these names suck ik)
ur artstyle is cartoon alien artstyle to me cuz I akways assotuated the way you draw eyes with a cute aliens in cartoons :3 maybe the space girl you were drawing had an impact on it idk :D
For me, I prefer to say my artist inspiration or if I have too many, say an art movement. Which is technically still categorisation but is more vague to let people have their own art exploration. Otherwise it becomes too niche.
funfettie cake maybe? for your artstyle name. It's all fun and games so long as it doesn't become Manditory and people don't get all huffy about having a name or not having a name. Just be silly! I personally really like the names as it can be helpful for seeing more art like it or finding people to comission with that style if you love it!
I've come across this problem before, both in searching for art styles when i was developing my own style AND when it comes to my own art style. I've had so many people ask me what my art style is called and I'm just like, "uhhhhh, its uh, my art style??? Semi realistic??" I have NO idea what to categorize it as as it doesn't fit into a singular box. 🤷♀️
I think a big part as to why people don't enjoy those questions are because ai generators benefit if a style has a name. Some people ask because they want to generate art in that style, which is obviously harmful to the art and creators who share it. Some people just like to hate, though. I've seen reviews on things that went something like "1/10 just bcs I wanted to hate." Or "thumbs down because I'm a hater." Not only is it annoying, but it's spreading unnecessary hatred throughout the entire internet, not just the art community anymore.
for the silly… what would your style name be if it had one?… 🤔🤔🤔
I have no ideaa It is very "???"
Idk I feel like it would be silly art style 😂idk
Like an art style name for my art style?
My art style name is simply named TylerGT, “TylerGT Art Style” which is an inspiration of Disney Amphibia.

i think in 2018-2020 from the flipaclip animation memes i saw, it looked like the artstyles looked so similar to the other animation memes at the time, feels nice to know it wasnt just me who think this at least
I remember comparing a piece of art you did to elektricnka's style in the comments of one of your TikTok videos!!! XD
Dang, this "community" be starting ww3 over jelly art style💀🙏
FUCK PEOPLE BEEN NAMING THEIR ART STYLES?!?!?! shit I need to do that!!!(for fun ofc)
I’m calling mine cotton cherry!!!!!
If you going to name the styleI think will be the yapper colors
Cuz 1- you really love to yep
2-it's really colorful
Or yapping pastel the muddy
1- because the pastel color that you use
2 some of them are really muddy but it's really beautiful
3 and because you are loved yapping❤
I was so happy when i saw my fanart in the outro >_
Idk if it's just the drawing of the video but I would think your style would be something along a alien style because of the big eyes and the bright colors that or bug style because well same reason big eyes variety in colors (these names suck ik)
Your videos are amazing 🎉
ur artstyle is cartoon alien artstyle to me cuz I akways assotuated the way you draw eyes with a cute aliens in cartoons :3 maybe the space girl you were drawing had an impact on it idk :D
I feel like if your art style had a name it would probably by the Cake Pop Art Style! Idk why, I feel like it fits :3
I reckon your artstyle would be like Cotten Candy style or like cloudy style!
I’ve always called your style Bre’s style 😂
I've come across this problem before, both in searching for art styles when i was developing my own style AND when it comes to my own art style. I've had so many people ask me what my art style is called and I'm just like, "uhhhhh, its uh, my art style??? Semi realistic??" I have NO idea what to categorize it as as it doesn't fit into a singular box. 🤷♀️
Honestly id call you artstyle "fluffy Japanese cheesecake" artstyle or "fluffy cheesecake" artstyle IT JUST LOOKS YUMMY 😭
I’d call your artstyle something like “the cotton candy artstyle”!
Your soooo close to 100k!
Mine would be called uhhhhhhhhhhHHHhhHhHhh. idk U CHOOSE
If ur art style had a name I think it would be lavender cake! :0
I love ur videos bree!!!!!
