I did my army training with the British Army at APC Air Port Camp and I had a wonderful time, and met some of the nicest people I could imagine! Thank you for the video. My first visit was 35 years ago, my 4th and last 24 years ago. Enjoyed every day I was there. Belize City is safe. It is as safe as the dark back streets of New York or any non touristy part of a city anywhere in the world. You just have to be sensible where and at what time of the day you go there. I remember the beautiful cayes, snorkeling off Light house Caye and Caye Chapel, staying at the Cockscomb wildlife sanctuary and horse back riding at the Banana Bank Ranch. As much as the people, towns and cities make a country, it is the countryside that completes a country.
Nice video. My Belize is a beautiful country. Parts of the city is dangerous, not all. It all depends on what places you are getting into. We are a small but very diverse country.
English is our mother (First) language. Second would be Spanish or Spanglish since we do have a mixture of some English and Spanish dialect. 90% of the country would speak both Spanish and English or at least understand one or the other.
Belize is one of my favorite places. I stayed in San Pedro when I was there. We did visit the city. Their is a pool area we went to that was made for the locals.

Recently, I spent more than 2 months in Belize for work. It is a wonderful place. Everyone I met was more than friendly and I never felt in danger. Yes, there is trouble, but the experienced traveler knows how to avoid it. I'd even consider retiring there. If you do get to go to Belize, just remember...they're on "Island Time". So, don't expect anything to happen on quickly or even on time. :)
I've been to Belize several times. I call it Some of This City because thats a city that you can just call it one thing. It's some of this and some of that. I've never had a bad experience there and the people are awesome
well i know a little bit the culture from belize, 'cause i lived there, i'm from mexico and i was in belize exactly in belmopan the capital to do a research, i can tell that when i traveling from mexico to belmopan never had a problem, i think that belize is a country with a lot natural resources and a great people. i hope come back soon.
Lived here all my life, Belize City isn't that dangerous or anything but I definitely don't recommend it as THE stop for tourists in Belize. There's not much to do unless you really want to see what everyday Belizean life is like or you care about Belizean history. It's not the most interesting place in the country (nor the most visually impressive/cleanest), especially for a conventional tourist, but it is a pretty unique and unusual Caribbean city if you're into things like that. Otherwise, you can easily skip the city and head to the beaches, islands, jungles, mountains, ancient Maya cities, rivers, caves, etc.
Loved Belize City. I remember going to a club called The Big Apple on North Front Street. It was the early 90's and "bubbling" was all the rage back then. Unfortunately the club closed in '95 or so because of a shooting. Went back about a dozen times, never had any problems with anybody, but I always steered clear of the southern part of town. Too many shady characters down there, but all in all this is a funky town.
belize is cool and it's on a black vibe so it's basically cool...just don't be an idiot and you'll have a good time. just find a cool local and your good, seems just like mexico but blacker.
excuse me, but mexican cities are way better than this city. jeez! Mexico even has skyscrapers. there a lot of town that look like that one, but also towns from Cuba, and even somebody said it looks like a place from New Jersey. Plus their official language is English...
I think it was compared because of the people. We have a lot of Spanish speaking people here. Yes we are poor in infrastructure and might I tell you that that is our attraction. We are an unspoiled country full of natural resources. No pollution here like your big cities with skyscrapers.
I bought a bottle of Sour Sop wine there and took it back on the cruise ship where they checked it in ( no alcohol can be brought aboard the ship, you get it back the night before the curse ends) I never got my sour sop wine back, they claimed it fell and broke. Lies Lies Lies. The wine is delicious and they drank it. So if you are in Belize get the Sour Sop wine. BTW it was Royal Caribbean cruise. They gave me the purchase price plus $5 back.
+TEXASNYC You missed out on all the different types of wines made in Belize from craboo flavor to sour sop. You won't find them any place else on earth. Those wines are rare
I like your documentary style of editing my friend. I also loved Belize. I went last year, first time backpacking and in Central America. The melting pot of cultures blew my mind away. Great video. Heres my video of my trip :) Backpacking in Central America: Belize (1/2)
I'm from Belize, and i'm telling you, you'll love it there. Yes during cruises they keep you away from city life, but if you do have time later on in life take a trip back and see what you missed.
Enjoyed the video! Doing a dive excursion at Sea Sports Belize when in port on a Carnival cruise. Dive shop is located a short distance away from the tourist village. It was helpful to see video of exactly where I will be walking to.
many thanks for this video i am from belize and enjoy seeing documentaries like these. remember Belize love tourist you are safe here we love you all and will make sure you enjoy yourselves
Its Truly amazing to read so many comments about people views, history, hate, love and understanding of belize. Truth be told, they're all or mostly true, but belize is not a dangerous place. The only people who say it is a dangerous place are the ones who want to keep where they're at hands and make money of you or the ones who fear black people and view them as not to be trusted because don't know the lives of black people deeply. I'll say this to all Visitors far and wide, you can go anywhere in belize and no one will do you anything when you nod your head and give your respect or act like you live there for years.Truth be told, belizeans love white people, because they don't see them all the time,so you should't feel intimated or scared, because they fear that you might not like them because of their skin, but there all very friendly. You will not always find someone out of the blue who will try to asks you for money, but you should be real as if you were still home treat them just as you would do with anyone who asks you for money. Sure belize doesn't have a flashy place like America or or well control place like China or japan, but belize has a lot of interesting people with hidden talents, love, challengers and Godly people who will really shake you up if you don't know him good lol. But however you view belize, i can't stop you,but atleast you've been there :).

how is belize if you want to buy a home there hows the healthcare and infrastructures im from canada but my parents are srilanka would you say its similar in many ways or is it better
kuberan peranandan I'd say it resembles sri lanka in alot of ways. I used to live in Belize when I was younger. It was alot safer back then. Crime has worsened the condition of the Belizean state due to the deportation of gang members from L.A. This is more prevalent in Belize City, but has started to expand to smaller areas like dangriga where I spent some of my younger days. Now you even have to worry about MS-13 crazy fuckers.

So any help is appreciated. Im 26 and im from the US. I was born in belmopan but moved to the states really young. Ive lived all over the US. And Brasil for 2 years. Anyways. Im moving back to belize. And im nervous as hell. Im selling everything I have and im moving in a few months. My point. Is this a good choice? In your opinion(ppl) could I make a life here? Would you recommend it? My mom is moving here also. So its sort of a family thing. Idk. I watch this vid and it makes me a bit more nervous. But ive lived in brasil and made it there and loved it. So I think I could make it here....
i was born in corozal and i moved to Oklahoma when i was 6, my parents went back to live in Belmopan when i was about 11, we then relocated to my home town in Corozal out of all the districts if i were to go back to Belize, im in Cancun now, I would stay in Corozal, you get the nice beach 5 minutes from your house if you live in town, you have Chetumal about 30mins away so you can do some shopping, Corozal is just overall the best district. find a good job because you will need it, something like real estate. And last but not least dont forget to plant, there is a lot of land so use it. just dont plant banana trees or plantain they harvest many red ants, stick to citrus and other fruits as well as vegies. good luck.
Adan Olivera ah thanks. I'm actually living in Belmopan atm. I wanna move somewhere closer to the beach. But atm I'm sorta just here in Belmopan. It's nice though. thanks for the advice tho!
Check out Hopkins. It's starting to develop on the beach and tourists like to visit there. They need more businesses!! Good luck, I'm moving to Belize from Canada this fall. Maybe check out Caye Caulker also!!
Depending on what you do. There are tons of bar jobs in San Pedro. If you know how to scuba dive, that's good doe. If your more a professional then I think Belmopan or Belize City is your best bet. Good luck!! Placencia has lot's of resorts.
+Christoper Christopher I don't see the problem if he types his comment in a language other than the one from the video. Where are you from? a secluded area?
helook like a white american. that dont accept that in his own land exist different proud clutures and that, they dont want to break a country but be part of the country but recognized. and thay know that hispanic belizean are older like the rock on that country.. im white too but the comparation is right, but idont consider a it but a hispanic. and that way more beautiful... leave a chance to meet our brothers. they exists and we self and rest of world dont know about them!, their grand grand fathers and very probably the yours spoke spanish
First of all...thank you for your video of Belize....My wife has been freaked out about Mexico for several years. We are finally taking our first trip outside of the US next year. Belize will be one of our stops.. any other advice you have would be awesome. We live in a very small town in the US so the "big world" becomes intimidating" to someone like my wife who has never traveled.
i'm part belizean and i can truly say belize is a beautiful country but this part of belize in particular (belize city) is not a tourist attraction lmbo!don't recommend anyone visiting the city.Visit the cayes of belize they are beautiful and CLEAN
I live in Belize , he said that its a bit expensive because or money is not that devalue like other coutry it is 1 Us to 2 Bze we are not dirt poor ,we have crime like everyone else and the only reason your being told in the tourism village its dangerous its because they want you to pay for a local guid. Lol walk and talk to the locala we are nice people.
He tells us that Belize City is not dangerous. But do we know what happened to him after the camera was off? Maybe he was robbed then or something even worser like STDs.
l didn't get robbed, and no std's. but l was made aware by two gangsters l talked to on the street, that my every move was being watched. ln dangriga l did have someone threaten to stab me at a bar. l called his bluff and nothing happened
HairJob Harry It never used to be that bad. Alot of it has to do with the deportation of gang members in the 90's which changed the perception of the country. Belize wasn't this bad.
It looks just like a medium-sized Mexican broke beachy town, but with a hell of a lot of blacks instead. Apart from Corozal Zona Libre, I hardly find any other reasons I would visit Belize.
When everybody has their own little business and can make a fair weekly wage everybody is happy and can Improve their lives and businesses With moderate profits. I think Mexico does it well. I think they pay their workers more than they used to and everyone can buy a cell phone And their needs. I have never been to Belize and I’ve studied a map of your country but the map is old from 2005 so I’m sure you have grown as a country. But I thought if there was two loops like to tour the country. One tour by biplane to cover The reefs and cayes. One tour by land or plane to cover the towns and jungles Inland to learn about the country, the people, the agriculture, the flora and fauna and animals it would be nice. If you could cover the country in 2 -1/2 Weeks or longer if people have more time it would be nice. I myself would like to work on a farm or Plantation for a season to pick coffee, Fruits, nuts, cacao, bananas. I have enjoyed coffee and chocolate for years And I would even like to plant some Trees for others in the future. If I had the money I would help out the fishermen who sometimes run out of gas or run into a storm out in the sea. I’d like to build some strong Palapa Hostels with a cook at each one to Give them a nice place to rest and eat before heading back to the fish cooperative. They need to have adequate boats and motors to keep them safe. I would like to propose my ideas to The Queen of England’s grandson Or the leader of your country now, To increase ease of visiting your country. You have the best reefs and cayes why not make a memorable Fun learning trip and make a Jacque Cousteau marine biology hotel and School and then Virgin airlines could maybe have an island hopping route.
EVERY COUNTRY, EVERY CONTINENT, has good and not so good people. You or anyone else can be a victim at any time or any place. You will forever hear that the “entire “ country or city or town is bad, just based on random people’s experience. Or hear say through the vine. Where ever you decide to travel, even if it’s just to the other side of your street ,unfortunately you can be a victim. Be aware, stay prepared!!!
I’m a Belizean and I will back up everything this guy said cause it’s all true!!!...thank you sir for putting us out there ❤️💙💚

I''ve always been fascinated by this country called Belize.I like the name and the street scenes.Much love from Kenya.
One of the most secluded and unknown countries in the world... it really needs to be introduced

Cory Beatbox ah thanks. i was looking at Hopkins, and Dangriga. Anywhere near there is so great though! Just now I need to find me a job :P haha
Depending on what you do. There are tons of bar jobs in San Pedro. If you know how to scuba dive, that's good doe. If your more a professional then I think Belmopan or Belize City is your best bet. Good luck!! Placencia has lot's of resorts.
I wanna live in Belize!
Where you from?
40% of the population is Spanish speaking the rest at least understands and maybe speaks some Spanish.
+Christoper Christopher El asqueroso idioma ingles es mierda al sol, al lado del magnánimo Español.
We Belizeans and not used to vloggers, that's why they always stared back😂
Awesome video!
Can any body guide me to visit this country.. I am currently in Pakistan.
Look beautiful and peaceful place
Interesting i always found interesting going to belize and make Some photos in the blue hole!
This city mixed with Africans?
My mom and dad grew up in the city of Belize

Good video. Thank you.
i was born in dangriga but raised in d most dangerous street in belize and still live there
Gonna book a trip with Heisenberg Travel the moment I am able. Maybe my travel agent Mr Goodman can get me some quotes.
My home town ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
He tells us that Belize City is not dangerous. But do we know what happened to him after the camera was off? Maybe he was robbed then or something even worser like STDs.
l didn't get robbed, and no std's. but l was made aware by two gangsters l talked to on the street, that my every move was being watched. ln dangriga l did have someone threaten to stab me at a bar. l called his bluff and nothing happened
Belize has a lot of potential for tourism. Nice landscape, but too many stupid people.
HairJob Harry It never used to be that bad. Alot of it has to do with the deportation of gang members in the 90's which changed the perception of the country. Belize wasn't this bad.
I hated Belize City, but the rest of the country was amazing!
It looks just like a medium-sized Mexican broke beachy town, but with a hell of a lot of blacks instead. Apart from Corozal Zona Libre, I hardly find any other reasons I would visit Belize.
They speak Spanish in Belize
Yes we do we are half creole/garifuna & Spanish we are called mezitos
beautiful
in every country they have at least one bad place or more. Thats i would say is normal. The thing is just to tak precision everywhere u go!😇
BC in the daytime and BC at night is indeed like night and day.
When everybody has their own little business and can make a fair weekly wage everybody is happy and can
Improve their lives and businesses
With moderate profits.
I think Mexico does it well. I think they pay their workers more than they used to and everyone can buy a cell phone
And their needs.
I have never been to Belize and I’ve studied a map of your country but the map is old from 2005 so I’m sure you have grown as a country. But I thought if there was two loops like to tour the country. One tour by biplane to cover
The reefs and cayes. One tour by land or plane to cover the towns and jungles
Inland to learn about the country, the people, the agriculture, the flora and fauna and animals it would be nice. If you could cover the country in 2 -1/2
Weeks or longer if people have more time it would be nice.
I myself would like to work on a farm or
Plantation for a season to pick coffee,
Fruits, nuts, cacao, bananas. I have enjoyed coffee and chocolate for years
And I would even like to plant some
Trees for others in the future.
If I had the money I would help out the fishermen who sometimes run out of gas or run into a storm out in the sea.
I’d like to build some strong Palapa
Hostels with a cook at each one to
Give them a nice place to rest and eat before heading back to the fish cooperative. They need to have adequate boats and motors to keep them safe.
I would like to propose my ideas to
The Queen of England’s grandson
Or the leader of your country now,
To increase ease of visiting your country. You have the best reefs and cayes why not make a memorable
Fun learning trip and make a Jacque Cousteau marine biology hotel and
School and then Virgin airlines could maybe have an island hopping route.
Is Belize bigger then Antigua
Yes. Much bigger. Based on the video, Antigua looks cleaner though.
PongN Chant yea it is clean. I went there this pass September beautiful island
That's my 2nd home ❤️
I'm a Belizean so its true about Belize city
Better Call Soul!

If you to the bad spots and you involve yourself with bad things you only welcome bad things and that is same no matter where you go
