I literally fell asleep during blood starved beast and woke up on the attemp where he won. That was insane timing. Automatic vod friends skip got activated.
Asmon's comment on "bloodborne not having that much story" went totally over the heads of the chat. He meant that the game doesn't show you 100 pieces of 20min long cutscenes and shove endless dialogue down your throat. Yes the vast and deep story is hidden in there, in small pieces of optional hidden dialogue, or boss voicelines, item information. And as asmongold said, you can go watch a 30min video of someone explaining the basics of the story, and understand like half of it. But first you get to just smash the gameplay without boring story being forced on you. And when it's over you can go and find out what the story was.
Fromsoft never bothered to give a good story but just put in a fuck load of item descriptions so if you cared to find out what the story is about have fun reading all that bullshit. Except for Sekiro they actually tried it with this one.

I wasn't a fan of the vial mechanic as well so to offset that I just used the sacred chalice dungeon code strictly to load up on vials and bullets so that way I never once had to think about farming them. Just made life so much more relaxing to actually enjoy the game

I never learned parrying properly in any of the DS games or Bloodborne, and I still completed them all fine. It's not a necessity, although it certainly makes some things easier when you know how to do it.
I really don't understand when people fight an optional boss, then find out it's optional and complain about it. What do you want? A totally streamlined game with nothing to discover and explore? Be happy that there is optional stuff, it's what makes these games so good and adds motivation to replay in case you missed stuff.
Some people feel a lack of satisfaction. In souls the complaint is usually quite stupid as theirs usually some sort of decent reward for beating the boss. The issue comes when people don't realise they've gotten a good reward and feel unsatisfied.
I can understand why he hates the camera in Bloodborne. If you are not used to a controller or using Claw grip it can get quite frustrating in some more hectic situations.
Imho the camera is just bad in Bloodborne.You can justify it however you like :).Don't get me wrong I absolutely adore the game but when you are fighting Laurence AND the camera it's absolutely maddening.Too be fair it's only really bad with big bosses ,with the smaller enemies it's quite manageable.

The true final boss of every fromsoft game is the camera. Only they could pair a stage where you get stuck on everything with a lock on that zooms into the boss on a sub-atomic level and have it be known as challenging but fair.

I get this is old but you should expect him not to know where anything is. If you are that bothered about it that you even made a comment, go watch someone who is rly good at it. E.g. Lobosjr. Great streamer and uploads to YT.
But sometimes it's just fucking understandable. Asmon is such a great person, I really like him and I often just laugh about his stupidity. BSB was my biggest wall too. The level you’re at usually by this point, lack of significant upgrades to your weapon and no runes. The dude is genuinely fucking hard. That pistol was my best friend
Hes either trolling at being bad or hes honestly one of the worst video game players of all time. Wow is literally the easiest game you can play so I really dont think hes trolling when he gets mad. I think he believes cause hes played wow at such a pro lvl for so long that hes good at all games when in reality hes literally the worst at games that involve pressing more then just right or left click or the number pad in a certain order.
Watching the fight against blood starved beast made me wanna be on his chat to tell him that you can not parry blood staved with a gun on his secon phase atleast not as easily as first phase 🙈 R2 load attack from behind should still parry and using that fire paper that he got would have helped a lot 😅
After he switched out of the trick mode and R2 spam he picked up on the play style pretty nicely on just his second actual attempt of the boss. Bloodborne's a really different playstyle from most Souls bosses (most, I think of Friede, NK and Gael as very Bloodbornesque), so he improved quite a bit...which is the nice thing about the Soulsborne series, being able to improve with every attempt. It was nice to see.
I really like this dude, but sometimes I can't stand him and his strange attitude, where he acts like a child. The way he plays then, the way he talks, his mimics. And I always thought, he is a gamer, which want to know everything about a game he plays, at least the fucking controls. And then he plays like an idiot, triggers everyone watching him and it's just fucking painful. I don't know, you don't have to be a god in every game, but there are some basic rules to start a game that, especially, he should know about. And that's learning the controls. Instead he is lame cheesing the bitch out of this game and it get's more and more frustrating to the point, where you wish he dies, instead of cheering him up and wish him the best.
He just needed LHB, to this day I can't parry that well, haven't used a single fire paper and yet I've beaten the game (DLC included) a few times (NG+5 or something). LHB is that OP
That spin 2 win tho.... Yuuck... No wonder you never finished this game, you refused to actually try new moves. Just two hand r2s for 90% of the gameplay.. The hunters axe should be unavailable to first time players. Start with the threaded cane or saw cleaver. You'll be more apt to discover the usefulness of gun parries and transformation combos. LHB is a pretty great and easy to use short / greatsword combo too, one that scales well and has an hidden dmg multiplier, and has combos for days. The combat system in this game is pretty indepth, more so than one would initially suspect.
@@shevankaseneviratne1724 I started with the axe myself too, but I used the r1 l1 combos more than r2 as I loved the parry system. I pretty much switched to the chikage and lhb almost as soon as I got them, and have been using an uncanny rakuyo with three 20.3 phys gems since I'm stuck playing offline. I tried to play around with all the other weapons too, since ive platinumed the game, but aside from those three I don't really like many of the other weapons... I really like the beast claws with its rune as well as kos parasite with milkweed, but ive used the latter more since I usually run eye rune and milkweed rune already. My only gripe about kos parasite is the damage output as well as the few gems that actually work with it. I have three of those 18% arcane gems you get from mergos loft but for offline game that's about all you can get that I'm aware of, and it took new game +3 to get the gems for it..
sometimes that "thank god" feeling, the rush from overcoming some really difficult obstacle is like a mental orgasm. If you don't understand that kind of fulfillment, and only do things because every second is fun, you really wont get anywhere in life. In fact, people like that most often just live off of other peoples' work as leeches.
The guys' brain was dripping from his nose by the end of the stream. He was very visably demoralised and should have taken a break but instead kept going because it's his job and he had to end the stream with some closure. Even as a viewer I could feel his pain...
This guy plays bloodborne exactly like DSP does. Finds one attack and never stops spamming it, run head first into combat without pausing for a second to strategize or plan, and basically ignores most if not all core game mechanics. This guy has a less annoying voice so points for that.
So.. he plays the game like he wants? Who the fuck cares how someone plays something their first time, it's not like he cares about all the NPC questlines or min maxing his character or anything like that, he's just playing the game. Died twice before killing blood starved. Its quite easy to kill it actually. I am trying to keep the death counter under 10 and so far i am at 4 (not counting the opening werewolf). The beast's poison though is cancer.
Everyone in chat complaining about 30fps is a loser probably raged out and quit before beating the first boss. Bloodborne is one of the best games ever made I’ve played thousands of hours and have never had a problem with the frame rate.
30 fps are way to fucking low and it always bothered me too. Especially, when originally coming from pc, you recognize the difference. I mean, playing this game back in the days, I took what I can get, played through the whole game plus the dlc. I would give my soul to play this masterpeace on a pc with 60fps minimum.
the blood starved beast many people was complaining about being stuck on. and he is infact very challenging, right? who wouldn say that? however. i took him on my third try. there are a couple of thing Asmon did in he very end. 1. antidotes. he never used them xD. he would have won earlier if he used them. but he was afraid that he would struggle later on if he didn have any left. but he just out sustained the poisen dmg with pots lol. 2.fire papers does icnreased dmg. 3.parry is a good way to deal increased dmg. i think its even considered a crit. not only that, but it is blocking incoming dmg that could infact very well 1-3 hit you so.. parry is a very valueble thing to kill anyone you could parry. so mastering parry skill is a must allmoste to get some bosses and tough monsters taken down. and if you arent comfortable using it. train on using it against weak monsters. the average shot does nothing for you. its right in the split second of an upcomming atk, that a shot from your fire arm will stun your target, and you just get your opertunity to just run your weapon straight through your enemies. 4. you do get poisen resistence armor wich he picked up and never used. im not sure how much poisen resistence it gives tho but hey.. if its 10% or even a 20% it may give you another second or 2 to heal that would otherwise kill you if you didn have that poisen resistence 5. after talking to alfred you can summon him to assist you in this boss fight. but that is either for inexperienced people.. or people who just wanna rush and have this boss fight as quickly as possible over with. 6. the very tactic i used for this boss fight, was pretty easy. never stand in this boss face unless you are a parry god. if you are not a master of parry, then circle around him. learn how and when he attacks. and you can easy dogde away from evrything. this boss has a very big gap closer so running away never works really. his best counter is really infact 2 things. parry and being up close and personal with his ass, just never be in his face. circle around him and you can find yourself getting alot of time to get a hit or 2 into him. the blood starved beast has a very weak rotation game as you circle around him. and as such, he will miss alot of attacks giving you more opertunity to inflict dmg. and during the late phase of this match when he activates 3rd phase you may find yourself in control with 70% health and 16 pots left because you have just dogded and parry moste of his dmg, to where your victory is a secured thing. and thats how i beat this shitty boss on my third try.

BSB was my biggest wall too. The level you’re at usually by this point, lack of significant upgrades to your weapon and no runes. The dude is genuinely fucking hard. That pistol was my best friend

Hes either trolling at being bad or hes honestly one of the worst video game players of all time. Wow is literally the easiest game you can play so I really dont think hes trolling when he gets mad. I think he believes cause hes played wow at such a pro lvl for so long that hes good at all games when in reality hes literally the worst at games that involve pressing more then just right or left click or the number pad in a certain order.
Blood Starved Beast could have easily been handled by Fire. Molotov Cocktail or Fire Paper would be ideal.
Watching the fight against blood starved beast made me wanna be on his chat to tell him that you can not parry blood staved with a gun on his secon phase atleast not as easily as first phase 🙈 R2 load attack from behind should still parry and using that fire paper that he got would have helped a lot 😅

After he switched out of the trick mode and R2 spam he picked up on the play style pretty nicely on just his second actual attempt of the boss. Bloodborne's a really different playstyle from most Souls bosses (most, I think of Friede, NK and Gael as very Bloodbornesque), so he improved quite a bit...which is the nice thing about the Soulsborne series, being able to improve with every attempt. It was nice to see.
I really like this dude, but sometimes I can't stand him and his strange attitude, where he acts like a child.
The way he plays then, the way he talks, his mimics.
And I always thought, he is a gamer, which want to know everything about a game he plays, at least the fucking controls.
And then he plays like an idiot, triggers everyone watching him and it's just fucking painful.
I don't know, you don't have to be a god in every game, but there are some basic rules to start a game that, especially, he should know about.
And that's learning the controls.
Instead he is lame cheesing the bitch out of this game and it get's more and more frustrating to the point, where you wish he dies, instead of cheering him up and wish him the best.
He just needed LHB, to this day I can't parry that well, haven't used a single fire paper and yet I've beaten the game (DLC included) a few times (NG+5 or something). LHB is that OP

That spin 2 win tho.... Yuuck... No wonder you never finished this game, you refused to actually try new moves. Just two hand r2s for 90% of the gameplay.. The hunters axe should be unavailable to first time players. Start with the threaded cane or saw cleaver. You'll be more apt to discover the usefulness of gun parries and transformation combos. LHB is a pretty great and easy to use short / greatsword combo too, one that scales well and has an hidden dmg multiplier, and has combos for days. The combat system in this game is pretty indepth, more so than one would initially suspect.
I ruined my first play thru relying on r2 cheese too. switched to skill and never looked back
@@shevankaseneviratne1724 I started with the axe myself too, but I used the r1 l1 combos more than r2 as I loved the parry system. I pretty much switched to the chikage and lhb almost as soon as I got them, and have been using an uncanny rakuyo with three 20.3 phys gems since I'm stuck playing offline. I tried to play around with all the other weapons too, since ive platinumed the game, but aside from those three I don't really like many of the other weapons... I really like the beast claws with its rune as well as kos parasite with milkweed, but ive used the latter more since I usually run eye rune and milkweed rune already. My only gripe about kos parasite is the damage output as well as the few gems that actually work with it. I have three of those 18% arcane gems you get from mergos loft but for offline game that's about all you can get that I'm aware of, and it took new game +3 to get the gems for it..

The fact that after beating a boss he makes an expression that says "thank god this is over" instead of being satisfied is beyond disturbing.
It's because he used to raid on mythic mode in WoW - you weren't happy after beating a boss, you were happy because it's over.
What's wrong with that? A lot of people on their first playtrough are like that
sometimes that "thank god" feeling, the rush from overcoming some really difficult obstacle is like a mental orgasm.
If you don't understand that kind of fulfillment, and only do things because every second is fun, you really wont get anywhere in life. In fact, people like that most often just live off of other peoples' work as leeches.
The guys' brain was dripping from his nose by the end of the stream.
He was very visably demoralised and should have taken a break but instead kept going because it's his job and he had to end the stream with some closure.
Even as a viewer I could feel his pain...
This guy plays bloodborne exactly like DSP does. Finds one attack and never stops spamming it, run head first into combat without pausing for a second to strategize or plan, and basically ignores most if not all core game mechanics. This guy has a less annoying voice so points for that.

The fact that triggers me personally, is that he didn't even take the time and learned the basics, the controls and the mechanics.
Instead he tried to cheese the game with one fucking lame move, to the point where you wished him to die, instead of wishing him the best.
Died twice before killing blood starved. Its quite easy to kill it actually. I am trying to keep the death counter under 10 and so far i am at 4 (not counting the opening werewolf). The beast's poison though is cancer.
It’s grab attack one hit me because it applies poison too.

Everyone in chat complaining about 30fps is a loser probably raged out and quit before beating the first boss. Bloodborne is one of the best games ever made I’ve played thousands of hours and have never had a problem with the frame rate.
30 fps are way to fucking low and it always bothered me too.
Especially, when originally coming from pc, you recognize the difference.
I mean, playing this game back in the days, I took what I can get, played through the whole game plus the dlc.
I would give my soul to play this masterpeace on a pc with 60fps minimum.

the blood starved beast many people was complaining about being stuck on. and he is infact very challenging, right? who wouldn say that? however. i took him on my third try. there are a couple of thing Asmon did in he very end.
1. antidotes. he never used them xD. he would have won earlier if he used them. but he was afraid that he would struggle later on if he didn have any left. but he just out sustained the poisen dmg with pots lol.
2.fire papers does icnreased dmg.
3.parry is a good way to deal increased dmg. i think its even considered a crit. not only that, but it is blocking incoming dmg that could infact very well 1-3 hit you so.. parry is a very valueble thing to kill anyone you could parry. so mastering parry skill is a must allmoste to get some bosses and tough monsters taken down. and if you arent comfortable using it. train on using it against weak monsters. the average shot does nothing for you. its right in the split second of an upcomming atk, that a shot from your fire arm will stun your target, and you just get your opertunity to just run your weapon straight through your enemies.
4. you do get poisen resistence armor wich he picked up and never used. im not sure how much poisen resistence it gives tho but hey.. if its 10% or even a 20% it may give you another second or 2 to heal that would otherwise kill you if you didn have that poisen resistence
5. after talking to alfred you can summon him to assist you in this boss fight. but that is either for inexperienced people.. or people who just wanna rush and have this boss fight as quickly as possible over with.
6. the very tactic i used for this boss fight, was pretty easy. never stand in this boss face unless you are a parry god. if you are not a master of parry, then circle around him. learn how and when he attacks. and you can easy dogde away from evrything. this boss has a very big gap closer so running away never works really. his best counter is really infact 2 things. parry and being up close and personal with his ass, just never be in his face. circle around him and you can find yourself getting alot of time to get a hit or 2 into him. the blood starved beast has a very weak rotation game as you circle around him. and as such, he will miss alot of attacks giving you more opertunity to inflict dmg. and during the late phase of this match when he activates 3rd phase you may find yourself in control with 70% health and 16 pots left because you have just dogded and parry moste of his dmg, to where your victory is a secured thing. and thats how i beat this shitty boss on my third try.
Or just cheese him the hell out with blood cocktails
@@hibilbo4755 up close thats hard. in a distance its hard. belive me when i say. up close and personal with a melee weapon is the easiest way to handle this boss. this boss is always moving around. so you dont get much time to throw anything at him.
