MMA without Grappling?

  • What’s harder? Muay Thai or MMA? Wait, does Muay Thai have grappling?
Okay, let’s talk about the Muay Thai clinch, and why we don’t see it more in MMA.
    (0:00)
ONE on Prime Video 1 will feature some of the toughest Muay Thai champions on the planet going head-to-head with small 4 oz. MMA gloves - this means more
    (2:49) knockouts,
    (3:09) clinching, and
    (3:32) sweeps.
And don’t miss our interview with 10x champ, John Wayne Parr at (1:03) on how styles change depending upon the glove size.
    ---
Tune in tomorrow, August 26th at 8pm ET (New York), to watch the world’s most elite #MuayThai - PLUS the rematch between “Mighty Mouse 🐭” Demetrious Johnson and Adriano Moraes (who I consider to be the best current #MMA flyweight on planet): watch.onefc.com
Some match-ups that I’m SUPER excited for-
    Muay Thai:
    Savvas Michael vs Rodtang Jitmuangnon
    Nong-O vs Liam Harrison
    Amber Kitchen vs Diandra Martin
    Superlek Kiatmoo9 vs Walter Goncalves
    MMA:
Demetrious Johnson vs Adriano Moraes II
    Itsuki Hirata vs Lin Heqin
Marcus “Buchecha” Almeida vs Kirill Greshenko
Which matches are you most excited to see??

idk why but I really enjoy watching fights from ONE and how even if they're aggressive in the matches, they're usually respectful and don't bring in trash talking with super personal stuff. I hope ONE has lots of money to pay fighters and gets more popularity but I hope that popularity doesn't negatively change how ONE is at the moment.

With a particular size of gloves like the 4 oz gloves or 6 oz gloves, fighters will have to rely on other forms of effective defense besides mostly guarding up like distance management, parrying strikes, a fair amount of head movement, and a fair amount of footwork.

    • @rileybazan9747
      @rileybazan9747 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

you don't curl your toes at all, you flatten your foot. Put your foot in the air, and then imagine your trying to stand on your toes. It takes some getting used to though. As for using your shin, its preference and situation. Shin hits harder, but has less range then hitting with the top of your foot.

I know they are different sports but the differences are not that big, you got to be a fighting nerd to understand, common people definitely don't. And anyway in one and other organizations athletes have jumped from one sport to another.
