I was sent to Jordan for work along with others over several trips and made time on the weekends Fri Sat to see many archeological and Holy sites. I love the place and the people. Oh I made plenty of mistakes. Some you don't even realize like one time in Petra when my pack strap suddenly gave way and it fell with everything spilling. My buddy grabs me and yells "Mike stop cursing!" Ha. Second time to Petra, a girl that I bought items like jewelry from on my first visit 3 months before recognized me and gave me the matching accessories for my wife. That's right. No charge. A gift for now I was a "friend". Mistake - I touched her while thanking her and she made a face that I instantly recognized and I reacted correctly. The Bedu (who occupy run and Petra will teach you). If they offer you tea. Take it - you are having heat stroke because you did not take enough water! Take as much as you think you need and double it.
@@jad2290 I have lived there for a year and a half studying Arabic at Jordan University, and I would consider it as one of the best times of my life. At that time there was very little tourism, and no big shopping malls like now. May be it was a little bit more relaxed. OK, it is not very spectacular compared to other cities in the Middle East, but I loved it. I lived that time in Djablu l-Hussain.
Thank for this really quality video. Great insight on how to get the most from your trip. Just got back and had an incredible time. I have a little vlog up now, so much to see there!
I’m Jordanian and it’s the first time I am visiting since I was a 1 year old now Im 14 and going their in April so I wanna see if I can bring these items
For number 3, what you can do is say hi or marhaba with your hand 🤚 up. When you leave the interaction you can do the same, plus put your hand on your chest.
Hey Andrew, I remember Holiday Inn & Ramada offering a day pass that includes food (for around 45JOD). Mövenpick is the fancy option but a bit more pricey (55 JOD). Wishing you a fantastic time there!
Very nice video! I am going this summer (yes it is very hot) but that's the only time I can go. Any tour agency you would recommend to visit Wadi Rum? Thanks
I booked my stay here and they do tours through the desert. Had a great experience. Just maybe make sure to book everything before you go there: geni.us/WadiRum_Favorite (jamal Rum Camp)
Love to Algeria! Long time ago I visited Al-Uad, Tuqqurt, Biskra, Qasantiina (very impressive!), 'Annaba, AlDjazaa'ir al 'asima, Laghuat..... Nice helpful people! Love to come back one day....
One more question regarding Petra by Night . I only have time to do it at night will I be able to see most of Petra has to offer or is movement restricted along the Treasury?
As far as I remember, you will only be able to walk to the Treasury. So not be able to move freely like during the day. Plus it will be dark so you will not be able to see very well and I would not recommend climbing up certain routes (too dark)
No. Its a waist of time at night. The day visit allows you to see as much as you can handle but at night you are walking the hardest part to only see the beggining and watch some corny story teller for about 30 minutes and walk back for at least an hour
I live here & you give tourists the best tips. One more thing, don't get the wrong idea if you saw men hugging & kissing each other cheeks (& even between women). It's the way we greet people who are close to us. Finally, don't forget to wear a sunblock since the sun might cause sun burns if you stay under it for a long time.

They hold hands? I’ve never witnessed such thing or heard about it!
I usually find someone that lives in the country and they’ll host me….😂😂😂 I did that in Algeria…..
Regarding point 9, as a Jordanian we don’t hold hands at all, i have never seen 2 men holding hands, must be quite awkward….
