This is the first sketch in years that could have gone for another 10 minutes and remained hilarious. I was sad when it ended. It's a perfect companion to the video short about Xmas church service featuring Cecily Strong.
I don't get it. Nothing made me laugh except the "I'm horrified to accept this award" It was all pretty blah.

I watched season 1, episode 1 on my black and white TV in my bedroom. The rest of the cast is adequate with the adequate material they have to work with. I am neither gay nor Asian, just calling it from my own personal experience watching the show. SNL is in its 49th season. I predict Lorne Michaels will end it after next year’s 50th season.

You know who doesn't get enough attention? The extras. The background players. That's who. People may not understand how sincerely difficult it is to do. You can't laugh. You can't even really react because the job is to be there, but take nothing from the cast. And if you do *anything* to call ANY attention to yourself, you will not be coming back. Also, special mention to the young actors they sometimes need. The kids, the ones with lines (and sometimes the ones who have special action but no lines) often steal their moments. I love it.

Two weeks in a row and the cold open leaves me.....cold.
Steve Martin, who has hosted SNL 16 times, ran a Twitter poll recently on how many regulars SNL should feature. Not past regulars, but current regulars. Got a sense that he thinks there are too many. There are a lot, and yet they are still having to bring in past members to shore the show up.
Bowen and Heidi should keep those clothes.. they both look gorgeous 😊
