Last time was her departure skit. Her voice was breaking at the end. Also I cried a little I must admit. Seeing her in this skit made my heart fill with joy. I love this skit series so much. She crushed Ryan Gosling again, as always lol. He doesn't even try to hide it and he really enjoys being in SNL.

I like Gosling but he breaks out laughing too much. He did it I think in every skit. Worse than Fallon, I mean it's funny once or even twice, but every skit kinda ruins the skit.
@JoshuaMartian-go3tm he did break in every skit, but I wouldn't say that ruined it. A host breaking and a cast member breaking are different. To me, a cast member breaking means the writers wrote some hilarious lines for the host to hilariously struggle with. Fallon just sucked at skits.
Kate staying in character when everyone sees her and screams and cheers is amazing. This skit just brought me so much delight.

I'm so glad they used Ryan Gosling's hosting this week as an opportunity to bring Kate back to do this sketch with him! When she hosted a few months ago I was disappointed they didn't do this sketch then.
I freaking love when Ryan hosts. He can never keep it together and it's just gold. I love when he said " I'm just realizing the last time I was here I was wearing the same outfit and I do have other clothes" I'm literally dead 😂😂😂💀💀💀

It might have something to do with her putting her nose in his butt the last time she saw him (prior to this sketch) on set. She has an unnaturally powerful talent of doing the craziest things and making everyone around her break effortlessly.

“Close Encounters” is one of my alll time favorite series of sketches. So glad they brought this back for Ryan. Kate is the all time top character.
This is the best returning skit SNL has had in a decade.
Yes, it is impressive that the skit is more or less the same every time, but the delivery is so funny it never gets old.
I was hoping Kate McKinnon would do the skit the last time she hosted, but I didn't have to wait long.

I pretty much never laugh out loud if I am alone but this one definitely did the job. If I was with someone I literally might have cried real tears. Kate takes it up several levels. Ryan did his best to hold it together but come on. The second time I watched I noticed Kate was trying hard not to make herself laugh at her own over the top character.

Probably the best SNL episode in a long time, usually I tap out after Weekend Update. The whole show was great. Chris Stapelton gained a new fan as well.

Close Encounter is one of my favourite skits throughout the entire run of SNL. The unhinged dynamics between Kate and Ryan makes for great comedy.
I love that Ryan has done this sketch every time he's hosted! So funny! Written by Mikey Day, Streeter Seidell, and Kate McKinnon. These are always great!

That is unsettling to find out when they get some leniency for "good behavior", being forced to go along to get along, is not the same as having taken the freedom of others lives, to live, away, and destroying the benefits of their being in the lives of a family, their friends, and community.
Idk a lot about the moral deviancy, and corruption of a largely privatized prison system, but it seems to be influencing or infecting the courts now, as well.

Cecily was another one who didn't break character. Amazing since she had so much craziness with these two.
When Kate McKinnon acts out the aliens examining Gosling. I wonder if he has ANY CLUE what she is going to do or say. I love the whole series of these.

I truly think she makes it up just to mess with Ryan. Watching him trying to maintain his composure just adds to the sketch.
@@IrrevMikeshe is allowed to improv, which is why they always break. But getting into the other person's personal space is a key component of this sketch every time😅😅
When they break, it's got to be improv 'cause they just did the same sketches for the dress. You could see her dreaming some of the ideas up like "They were sniffing it."
