I just adore how clear it is that the costume department loves dressing Heidi. Unless the role calls for something else, she's always expertly styled. This tiered dress is especially gorgeous.
She has a perfect frame for dressing. Plus, Heidi is a chameleon. She can take on any look, from plain and frowzy to runway glam. Love her role in Shrinking. She nails it.
This year's cast works so well together. Great chemistry. Yeah, I miss the stand-out talents of recent SNL past, but it's great watching a full cast with equal talent work so well together. And work so well with the hosts. Add to that, the best WE Update team SNL ever had and you have a banner year going strong.

However, as a person who has lived in NY but has been away for several years, I can say that most of these things happen elsewhere too, especially the annoying person with the clipboard and the woman trying to tell her friend where she is.
Yep. This even applies to small parks in Oklahoma, Kansas, etc. If there's more than 10 people at a public park, these people start manifesting out of thin air, whether the park is 50 square yards or 2 square miles. Doesn't matter.
Hell yess! Totally on point about weird people at the park. Such an amazing team work for this sketch, they really know how to use all the cast members, the more the merrier.
I love him too, but I hope he doesn't get in the bad habit of breaking character. And he was really miscast in the nail salon sketch, although there wasn't much they could do to save that sketch.
Last time I was in Central Park I saw someone dressed as Big Bird sitting on a bench in front of a tunnel entrance with a cardboard box on his lap that said "Free Kittens". I didn't get close enough to see if they really had kittens 😂. Aside from not including a creepy Sesame Street character, this sketch was pretty accurate.
So happy Heidi is getting more screen time. Love her! The guy with the drone and the guy with the clipboard just made me really really sad - so accurate though
Does the cold open from the Brendan Gleeson episode count as a political cold open? You know, the game show where people try not to flip crap over distressing news. I mean, yeah, it did include some political stuff, but mostly it played out like a normal sketch (and I still think the Try Guys sketch was supposed to be the cold open, but it got switched out because it wasn't funny enough. It's been done before on other episodes).

One of the best cold opens in a long while! So spot on and pretty much what happens in most of the major cities. All the crazies and annoying ones come out full force. This current cast and writers have been great! I don't think the "Live from New York" button has ever been interrupted in the history of the show. I missed some years in the aughts but a break like that would have gotten around the grapevine. Ego is fab as always.

As a former New Yorker who loves to go to Central Park WHENEVER I’m in NYC they nailed it. Totally spot on. Especially, after catching a Facebook live stream the other day when it WAS 90° from a guy making the rounds in Central Park. 🤣
This cast has solidified really quickly. The featured players have gelled really quickly capitalizing on their strengths. Very excited for the next few years of this show.
I lived in New York City for 10 years and hung out in Central Park as much as I possibly could. This is so accurate it’s almost scientific! Bravo to the writers!
I feel like there are so many they didn't cover: Karen calling the cops on someone's bbq, couple that just had awkward public fight, the rich woman that leaves her awful dog off it's leash, tween skateboarders trying to pick up girls, cat-calling construction workers etc
The segment actually serves as a public service announcement. But they didn't mention the legless old man veteran on a plywood cart in tattered clothes being pulled by Lithuanian midget wearing a pink tutu selling used books and concert tickets.And they are both phd's in physics.
Maybe if SNL hired a little person cast member and a cast member who lost his/her/their legs due to an accident or some kind of genetic disorder or even diabetes, then they could have included it.
Spot on! One thing missing was 5 teenage girls, all on their phones, walking side by side that you can't get around on the path.
