*Remember* In "Postal 2" you could complete the game by not killing everyone and be a good citizen. But as we saw, most of the world chooses Violence and decided that the company that made this game is responsible for it.
I know, right? I actually found my first run kind of hilarious in how interesting it was to make my way through a very violent world without succumbing to the violence myself. Postal 2 never _makes you_ shoot anyone at all. You can apparently save the marching band from being blown up and everything. Wanna try that next time I play. And just... yeah. It's a weird, janky game, but if it's too violent then it's because that's how people are _choosing_ to play it. "I don't wanna stand in line! *BLAM* Man, this game is so evil, it totally forced me to shoot all those people rather than stand around in quiet reflection for a minute or so."
Yep, it's usually about half way through standing in line at the bank most people chose violence and never look back, furthest I ever made it was day 3 before the guns came out.
Legacy is right. You can hear the care in Vince's voice when he talks about it and it's hard to overstate the impact Postal has had in the grand scope. Can't wait!
It's crazy to believe that one of the most violently messed up video game franchises ever is made by one of the down to earth wholesome group of game developers out there. It warms my heart to see a video game company that isn't corrupted by greed. We all wish you to keep thriving RWS!
i replayed apocalypse weekend recently and i noticed during the pigeon mission FMV, you can literally hear the cameraguy holding in his laughter and they didnt even try to cut it out and that just speaks volumes for how postal 2 was designed with the philosophy of "guys wouldn't it be so fucking funny if we added this"
It is.. with silent hill in my eyes because almost every game movie is bad on purpose. Its a Hollywood thing they know some games have better storys than thier own written bs so they need to drag some big gaming names through the mud.
which is ironic because the director of that movie is well known for hating video games and making terrible adaptations of them. But that one actually worked
Postal is one of those game series that had a major impact in the world of gaming but at the same time went unnoticed. I grew up with the entire series in my life and i have to say the biggest take away from the series as a whole is, its juvenile fun. Its a game series that grew with the player, it learned and became better than how it started. Postal is like that one friend in school who always made edgy jokes but it worked, and as the years went on you both went your separate ways but every so often you two reconnect and they still have that dark sense of humor but with an air of lightness. Postal 2 was like that, where you are given the dark themes with a lampshade of overall silliness, similar to that of an Adult Swim show. Postal 3 and the movie was like them trying to make a profession out of their dark humor but it ended up crashing and burning. Postal 4 was them many years later, still edgy and crude but much more wiser from their ups and downs. Hell, they even treated their low points as a highpoint as they look back on the bad times and laugh at it with us. RWS will always be one of my favorite game companies of all time, not because they make the best games, or have pioneering gameplay, but because they just know how to have fun with the fans.
I had a chance to finally play Postal myself recently, fifteen years later since I heard about it when I was FIVE. Thankfully my parents never took violence in video games seriously, and I am 99% certain we had a Postal 2 disc in our countryside house on a shelf with other old discs, movies and games and stuff. Anyway, finally got the chance to actually experience the game myself, and I was heavily surprised to find out how over the top satirical and sarcastic it was, like I can't believe people used to take this seriously and it was somehow controversial But honestly, I'm glad that this talk happened in early 00s, it feels nice to be able to talk freely about video games, and art and fiction in general :')
What I love about playing Postal series the most? We all know it's so wrong to play. But you really can't help to rip loose. They are great to play when you're upset almost like therapy. They are willing to parody things the rest of the world in a way that comes off as true freedom of speech. Postal 2: Paradise Lost is still among my favorite campaigns in an indie game I ever played!!!
The way you describe it is exactly how I feel with a lot of these kind of violent games, their almost like therapy for your brain. Grand Theft Auto, Postal, Red Dead, games that let you be an absolute menace to society, run around killing and stealing and burning things, their almost relaxing, help you let off stress. Something about them just puts your brain to ease.
I forgot that you were located in Tucson. As an AZ resident, I must say you guys have created one of the few great pieces of entertainment to ever come out of this hellhole state!
the worst game franchise ever known that even the developer itself acknowledge it managed to outlive several AAA games today man i wish i could play postal sooner
The documentary is interesting, the most curious thing is that I got to know the second game in a gameplay and I didn't imagine that it got into controversy (and neither did the movie Lol), but it was very educational, force from Brazil
I love the psychology of postal 2, no matter what you do people end up hating you there's literally no way to get through the game without the entire town turning on you.
imagine getting so upset or offended by a simple piece of media when there are so many legitimate issues in the world to actually be upset about or offended by
Playing Postal 2 when I was 14 during the school holidays was one of the key experiences in my life and has been the benchmark for my love of obscene extreme humor. I would kill for a postal 2 redux so I could have all the games on my console I even own free versions of postal 1
I used to assume there was some justification behind all the scare-mongering around these games. That they were really just these mindless, hateful things, like that other game with the Not Important guy. Then Civvie played 'em and casually explained to me that you can totally just be peaceful if that's your thing. It's an option, and one that no outrage monger in the world apparently even considered. You can just be this chill guy who keeps getting the shit end of the stick and running away, if you like. It's kind of hilarious, IMO.
Postal is truly an enigma: to those who haven’t played it, it’s an unadulterated murder simulator that inspires real life violence. To those who have played it and can actually comprehend what we’re playing without a talking head telling us what to feel, it’s a loud, dumb, over the top game of possibilities that we love to death.
A little shout-out to playing the Postal games on the Steam Deck too. One of the most surprising things about Postal 2 is the friendly fire that rarely happens.
I’m a postal worker and played this game I worked at a postal facility where an employee shot at two of his coworkers at the time clock on the workroom floor I was never bothered by this obviously
I first played Postal 2 on a bootleg CD my buddy brought back to the states from his Uncle in Hungary circa 2005/2006. We installed it on my laptop and played the ever living shit out of it in glorious 15fps for years. He passed over a decade ago, way too young. I miss him dearly and still think of him every time I boot up and go for a runthrough. This little game holds a lot of meaning for some out there, and I'm stoked we get to see some behind the scenes and RWS lore surrounding it and the franchise. Keep running boys, and hold them scissors high!
I think this game didn't need to be banned and discussed so much. Because the name of the game is Postal, even its meaning is about people who are crazy and commit massacres. It's also a good reason to play this game instead of committing violence in real life. You're doing great RWS and don't regret it❤
I've discovered postal 2 in 2017 from my sisters ex and I gotta say is still one of the best games I've played the human the action everything about it it's just amazing
*Remember*
In "Postal 2" you could complete the game by not killing everyone and be a good citizen.

"I know what youre thinking. Funny thing is, i dont even like video games." - postal dude
Well said! It's kinda ironic isn't it, but it's the truth. Thank you RWS, best video game company ever.
Its as if playing/desining violent videogames wont turn you into a dangerous psycopath
Its not that bad
They came out the same year as GTA.
Coincidence i think not.😂

I liked too

I love postal devs response to people who say video games bad
"it's a game"
Running with Scissors truly lived up to their name lol, Postal is life
I don't know what the people in the universe where Postal never came out are like, but I feel bad for them.
FUCK. YES. Been a fan since the first release. Then Postal 2 changed my life.
In a good world controversy would not come with violent movies and video games but with violent reality
Oh yay! The documentary is done!
I made my girlfriend watch me play Postal
Made mine play it.
My gf loves the movie :)

@MichaelandJason1981 Postal 2

Today is a good day, we get a 7th TF2 comic and a trailer for a postal documentary
Ill never forget walking around in the game and peeing on everyone. I laughed so hard i fell off the chair.
It's finally here.
One question, will it only be available on Blu ray or will it also come to a streaming service like Netflix or Prime Video?
The film will be released digitally!
I don't even got a DVD player but I'm still going to buy it
It will look great on your shelf!
Okay, that movie cover is fricken awesome by it self, even if I wasn't interested in Postal's History I'd still buy it for that cover alone.
We loved this game in our youth. None of us became a violent murderer 😅
So you finally got your petitions signed
Never thought I'd see the day G4TV gets featured in a Postal documentary. Let's fucking GO.
Which region will the Blu-ray disc be compatible with?
Is this going to be on any streaming platform ? coz, international viewers you know

Postal 1 and 2 was my favourite games on my old PC computer back in 1990s and 2000s it was so mutch "Kick ass" over and over again on repeat!
RWS, you guys okay if people pirate this?
To this day, these devs and Valve are still remnants of how some devs used to make games - when they're truly ready.
