Athena Strand: Funeral service for 7-year-old included a custom pink casket, her favorite Disney son

- Strand's mother told WFAA that SoulShine Industries donated the casket for the service. The company also made 19 custom caskets for Uvalde victims.

@Smoke King I remember hearing him talk about that. Companies from states away were reaching out to him to get him caskets and he had friends driving hours away to meet people and pick them up. They also drove for hours delivering each one to the family. This man is doing great things. I’m glad he is getting recognition it just sucks that this is why he’s getting it. His company is linked to tragedy but he is doing an amazing job giving these families some more positive memories after losing them.

As a Funeral Director, I love to see the care this man puts into personalizing these caskets. I wish funeral homes utilized him rather than having families select from the generic caskets we all sell. Rest In Peace sweet girl 🙏🏻
It's horrible enough losing a child to an illness or accident, but to lose a precious child because some sicko murders them is so revolting and disgusting that it defies comprehension. I pray the family finds some healing after all this. I don't know how I would cope, I really don't.
I'd start by deleting the stepmom out of this world too. She's partially responsible.

@@christimecarmona6810 yes, it was yet it helped in the healing process over time. He also went to Build a Bear to find a tuxedo for Anthion to be buried in. Anthion was 12 days old when he passed away. He was born at 23 weeks. Beautiful boy.💙💙

As a viking and history nerd, it really got me emotional hearing about the viking symbols and her tagging along to the Renaissance festival with her dad - I can get a feel for the type of family they were and they could have easily been my friends, neighbors, or family... there's no reason any of this had to happen. She seemed like the kind of daughter one would be proud of. RIP baby girl.

Well we don't know the details unless they mentioned it & i missed it but I've been keeping up. I assume he has primary custody cause she got off the school bus at his home where bio mom lives in Oklahoma. And that's not how custody works where a mom "allows" visits to happen. Both parents have to follow unless the child asks to not go/stay or they made their own agreement outside of court. I could be wrong so if you know the details then I'd like to know
