I saw him say this in a comment reply to someone else, but I would HIGHLY recommend buying a new pump and not a remanufactured one. I have redone mine twice now. Both times the remanufactured pump has failed and had to be warrantied. Spend the extra money, it's worth it on this one. My last pump was crap and I really started to notice it a week after I replaced it. Bummer. 3rd times the charm, I hope. The procedure he lays out here is great. Thanks for the video.
Great video. Thank you for being concise. So many jokers post 30 minute videos of themselves rambling and shaking their camera. It's was refreshing to see a video that has the pertinent information, and no nonsense.
Great video, very helpful. Documents all the important parts. i getting ready to do this to my truck today, and im sure you saved me a bunch of time! thanks!
I’ve seen other videos that they don’t recommend starting the engine when you bleed the system but going back-and-forth many many times to get all the air out. I’m going on my third pump now going with a brand new one.
I really don't think the bleeding method matters. I think there are a lot of poor quality remanufactured parts being sold. For what it's worth, I still have this truck and it still has this same pump installed on it.
That is what i am trying to research. My truck turns smoothly however there is a whining noise while stepping on the brake and a slight kickback. Not sure what the fix is or if this is normal, not too much information anywhere online. Hydroboost might be a bit more expensive than the p/s pump.
I never comment on DIY videos like this, but this one was fantastic and straight forward. Only step I don't like was not disconnecting batteries. Otherwise fantastic guide for any skill level. Thank you.
Great vid; pretty much everything needed and the visuals are good. Man, I hate needed to use a pulley puller! Have you repaired the hydraulic cooler? it looks like the lower line runs to it. If anyone has seen a vid on this repair, please drop a link in a reply :-)
Ok so I have a question power steering has been leaking etc and then just tonight my pulley came off my pump any idea why the pulley would just come off did the pump shaft get messed up or did the pulley fail?
have you had any issues with this cardone pump? I usually do motorcraft with most stuff and cardone haven't had best luck, wondering if it worked for you?
Not gonna lie. Love your concise no bullshido videos

Reman is almost never the way to go when a new-new part is available. The Motorcraft units are all remans.

No intercooler? My intercooler pipes kinda block from the side bolt
I kinda put power steering fluid in mine what hose should I remove to flush the complete system?
I have a whining noise when turning the wheel and pressing the brake especially at low speeds, new pump?

That’s what mine was doing and my pump just went out. Be prepared for your pump to fail
Have you figured this problem out yet? I am struggling with this also, i have a new pump and high pressure line.

Thank you.
Any idea how to R&R the fluid reservoir? My new pump came without one, and I can't figure out how to remove the old one. Thanks
Whats the best way to flush?
Is not the brake pedal to be pumped while doing the bleed procedure??
Not unless you have air in your brake lines.
I am talking about the hydro boost that assist the brakes, does it not have trans fluid in the spool and sleeve assembly?
I didn't, and yes, it uses transmission fluid.
Excellent video
I need the bracket for my 97 f350 powerstroke. I find one out of a gas truck, would it fit?
Thank You brother. Good job
I can’t for the life of me get that nut off using the wrench where the steel line is. It’s stripping the nut ! what should i do??

How many miles are on the truck
The video was 6 years ago, I would guess at that time 300k-ish.
Nice work man, thanks for the refresher. 22yo MI farm truck isn't gonna go that smoothly though unfortunately. You made it look easy.
Your the man
And thank you for the information
Thanks for this Video! Just what I needed to know. Now I need to find a mechanic to put one on. 👍😄
