I use to live near where you were riding. It was a very nice area! I enjoyed my 30 + years living in California but it changed so much that I could no longer stand living there. Ironically I sold the house I purchased for my mom and bought her a home in Gallatin Tennessee. She didn’t really want to move but my sister and her family moved to Hendersonville and after visiting my mother liked it and made the move. She loved living there but unfortunately old age gets us all and she passed away. She now rests less than 100’ from Johnny Cash and June Carter. May the all Rest in Peace.

I didn't know this Johnny Cash Trail existed. The trail looks so interesting. Looking forward to more art displays along the trail! Thank you for sharing this.

Are you planning to do a multi part video on the American River trail like you did for Mountains to the Sea? That would be a good project. It would be very helpful to those not familiar with it since the American River trail can be a bit hard to follow with all of the side paths. It's best in the spring if you ask me.

I’m going to try this in the fall with some cooler weather. It will be a memorable ride since I met Johnny Cash in person in the early 70’s.

That’s perfect! In August the trail will be installing a new art piece so make sure to look that up before you go! It’ll be a giant sculpture of a Johnny cash pick. I’m looking forward to that!
Amazing that you met him! What was he like?

Interesting, his career in the 70’s was very fascinating if you just put that aside. He lived a lot of hard life before that period!

I've ridden that as an extension from the American River parkway to loop around and return to Folsom, fun ride?

It is a fun ride! That’s so great that you’ve ridden it before! It’s really fun to have a trail not only be accessible but for it to weave in the history of the area. Would love to explore more trails like this.
The American River is a bikeway I’ll be exploring soon! 🙂 Thanks for watching!
