Awesome! I have used a few coats of walnut oil let it dry for a day between coats then a few coats of axe wax after the walnut oil dries for a few days it's food safe and none allergenic
Walnut oil eh? That's a great option... I use to use linseed oil, but moved to beeswax after I started selling them just in case someone was using them for food. Will definitely be trying that out. Thanks 😊
A comment on linseed oil. I use a natural flax oil boiled with no chems for natural linseed oil. Same thing, if I understand correctly. It works for my meat knives.
I really like that first puukko blank. I like how you used the dark wood and the light in the middle. I was just looking at old videos for some ideas. I have a couple lauri blanks one is a 95 length with a 62 hardness. Thanks for the ideas.
On point, I love making beezwax, oil blend for leather and wood. A good satin sanding. Just in case you believe in LIFE IS PERFECT! A hot wax pour ( with plastic funnel) NOTTTT!!! may just turn into a wonderful cotton towel/wax fire starter TO LAST SEVERAL LIFETIMES!!! lol ouch lol
I love making my own "fixin' wax" . Beeswax, mineral oil and a hint of raw linseed oil.. Great for protecting my leather boots and gloves from our salty northern Ontario sidewalks.. pretty much what snowseal is
If you try plum wood it can surprise you with a warp and a crack if you try to hurry the cure, dry, stabilizing time! Any wood I get has to be stabilized. So hard to be patient! But well worth the time to heal from hot wax, carving, chopping, batonin Lol!
That is amusing! My bro tried a double barrel round house boxing match just before a trip to the hospital for a double barrel hand, arm cast set. I almost wrote on one DO NOT BE THIS STUPID, but he broke one one his nemesis and being a gentle, scrawny kid did not want to releave his frustrations!???!
Starts video by explaining how he broke his thumb punching some daft c*** in the head.
You’ve got my subscription good sir. 😆👍
Haven't had any issues with little f*** since, so the broken thumb was worth it... still sore when I work though
😂
They look good! I love BPS knives, and Beavercraft, too.
I honestly love you dude, and hope one day I can match your level of videos... I'm not much of an editor, so I just ramble on for wayyyy to long
