The weird thing about the Stone Mask is that it doesn't actually make you literally invisible, that's just the practical effect it has, it actually makes you "plain as a stone," so you're so uninteresting that nobody is able to notice you're there. Like the Perception Filter from Doctor Who, except actually stronger I think. So taking it off and on wouldn't make you suddenly appear and disappear, it'd make you suddenly noticeable and unnoticeable. Which would probably seriously mess with people if you did it in front of them more than once. Imagine being very aware of something, and then instantly being _forced_ to stop paying attention to it, despite still physically seeing it and technically knowing it's there.
I would imagine that watching someone put the Stone Mask on would force you to completely lose interest as opposed to just making you stop paying attention to them. That would still be pretty weird though. "Hey, who are you? What are you doing he- _Wait, I suddenly stopped caring."_

It's definitely not a perfect illusion though. The guards that fight you in gerudo fortress, as well as the ones around the hookshot chest, and quite a few NPCs will still talk to you while wearing it. From this we can draw two conclusions. 1. The effects of the mask don't work on everyone. It can be interpreted that the geeudo guards it doesn't work on are the "elite" ones, as they have unique appearances for the ones that fight you, and the ones near the hookshot chest are the boss's guards. This indicates to me that if someone is taking their job more seriously, or perhaps just generally smarter, they wouldn't be affected by the mask. 2. Since most NPCs still talk to link while he's wearing the mask, we can interpret that interacting with someone breaks the illusion, and not in a way that's too surprising, otherwise they'd react more strongly. Frkn this, and the masks description, I think it more codes you as "uninteresting" from the perspective of others. Guards seeing you will think it's perfectly ordinary that you're there, but people who you talk to will likely not be very engaged with you, but will still talk nonetheless.
You could use the fierce deity mask to get any job you want. Imagine if the employer says that you’re not what they’re looking for in an employee, so you scream horrifically while putting on the mask and ask them to reconsider
Less violent approach: Mask gives you boost to your own self-assured authority and confidence along with steady nerves needed in a more leadership-oriented roll in a company, hence to be worn in a boss room. Even just the mundane ability to maintain a level head and look right in the eye of someone could be a mild boon.
I feel like it's easy to forget that MM link has ALL of the adult portion of OOT on the back of his mind. He went through all of that, and went back to a world where no one knew anything that had happened. The heros shade in twilight princess says he wasn't remembered. Such a tragic story man.

As true as that is; you would have to be an expert mycologist, or at the very least hope the mask tells you want mushroom is poison, "magic" -as they are technically poison, or edible. There are over 1000 species of mushrooms and many are very harmful. You should never eat a random mushroom, unless you're like 120% sure you know what mushroom it is.
The Bremen Mask would be useful to farmers. Imagine being able to instantly grow your chickens from barely hatched chicks. It would cut down on the costs of raising chickens while enabling them to grow and sell chickens faster. Presumably since it affects other animals you the growth affect would also work on other animals too. So maybe cows & pigs as well
It would also make it far easier to get both chicken meat and chicken eggs, and thus reduce the cost of both. That would be a huge lifesaver for both grocery shoppers and people ordering at restaurants. Chicken McNuggets would be a lot cheaper!

I imagine the stone mask less as making you invisible, and more as making you blend in. I always imagined it as people just thinking, yeah, that's supposed to be there. I would say the stone mask is more like a perception filter from Doctor who, you just perceive other people as an object rather than another person so you can avoid walking into them but there's nothing in your brain that connects them to something you can interact with or even acknowledge.

The impression I get from the stone mask is that wearing it just makes you essentially "beneath notice" rather than making you invisible. Which would imply to me that if you're using it to go grocery shopping, your cart and groceries would also just be something people would gloss over. And when you take it off, it's not like you suddenly pop back into existence, it's more like when you suddenly realize someone is standing next to you that you didn't realize was there. Still spooky!
I would interpret the All-Night Mask as preventing you from _feeling_ tired, but not preventing the effects of exhaustion that sleeping is supposed to prevent, like trouble focusing. It'd basically be like magic coffee.

My headcanon is that the Troupe leader's mask doesn't really force the Gorman brothers to cry per se, but it more just reminds them of how their brother has basically failed at life and it makes them feel bad for him.
The Gorman mask is something you could absolutely mimic in real life! Find someone with devastating family problems and make a mask that looks like one of those family members. Whether they'd cry from the memories long lost, or the fact you are harassing them in a really messed up way? Who knows! Anyway I think I might want the Romani Mask, because it's just funny and would look cool. I'd wear it to get-togethers for the first 5 minutes and then take it off so that people will stop paying attention to me.

Important point about the Bunny Hood: It's a *hood,* not an actual mask. You wear it on your head. So you can, technically, wear it alongside another mask that goes on your face.

I would put the Goron and Zora masks in the useful in specific situations section. I'll bet that anyone on the Titanic would have killed to have the Zora mask at that time if you know what I mean. Basically, any situation where you may have to traverse large bodies of water would be a great opportunity to use the Zora mask. The Goron mask would be great for fire related emergencies. Burning building you say? Well, Gorons are fire proof so you could just walk right out without a problem. Additionally, the strength of a Goron would be helpful for moving large objects (e.g. furniture, shelves and things like that). Also, while not everyone gets into fights a lot, if you ever do have to fight in self defense, the Goron mask would work wonders for you in real life. I personally would also keep the giant's mask and the fierce deity's mask with me just in case.
I would think the stone mask technically making you unnoticeable (not invisible) would be more lenient, because instead of items defying the laws of physics by appearing and disappearing randomly or moving on their own, you’re still a person pushing a cart. You’re still a person laying out a picnic blanket, or just sitting on the grass: But no one would save you to their long-term memory. People would move out of the way of your cart, and you might not be immune to shoplifting, but you will be immune to judgement. Even if your own mother walked straight past you and you waved to her, maybe even say “Hi, Mom!”, she would not remember seeing you in the store today after she gave you a nonchalant “Hi, honey”. If the properties of the mask extend to items in a shopping cart, you could walk around with a shopping cart that implies an extremely degenerate evening of activities, but no one would bat an eye. (Might not apply when you have the cashiers scan all these items… But hey, they’ll still ignore you, so only you will carry the shame of what you did that one day; you’re the sole factor on whether you can show your face in that store again. The cashier would just have a crazy story to tell for “weirdest combination of items for one customer”.)
Stone mask would be very useful for those situations where you're walking home late at night or to your car and feel just a bit unsafe. No creepers or muggers would notice you. Definitely #1

I feel like the Giant's Mask could veer into "Actively sucks" territory, because let's say that in the real world, you wouldn't have the in-game limit of only being able to wear it while fighting Twinmold. Unless you're in some massive empty field, transforming into a giant would cause an obscene amount of damage just during the transformation, let alone all the things and/or people that you could accidentally crush just by taking a step. Even disregarding that, people would be terrified of you and you'd likely end up being attacked by the military. And I reckon having your body grow to such immense proportions so quickly would hurt *a lot*

I’d 100% go with the stone mask, and not even to go unnoticed by people. I’m a wildlife photographer, I’m working on a research project on salamanders who run and hide as soon as they notice you with my university, and I’m trying to pursue a career in wildlife conservation. As true as that is; you would have to be an expert mycologist, or at the very least hope the mask tells you want mushroom is poison, "magic" -as they are technically poison, or edible. There are over 1000 species of mushrooms and many are very harmful. You should never eat a random mushroom, unless you're like 120% sure you know what mushroom it is.
The Bremen Mask would be useful to farmers. Imagine being able to instantly grow your chickens from barely hatched chicks. It would cut down on the costs of raising chickens while enabling them to grow and sell chickens faster. Presumably since it affects other animals you the growth affect would also work on other animals too. So maybe cows & pigs as well
And more human because there would be no need for steroids or other practices which are frowned on by some.

Now I'm pretty sure it's implied that you don't stop feeling tired (the description says it was once used to torture people) but it would still help me stay awake during the day, like when I'm working or driving, instead of having to take a nap

I would say the stone mask is more like a perception filter from Doctor who, you just perceive other people as an object rather than another person so you can avoid walking into them but there's nothing in your brain that connects them to something you can interact with or even acknowledge.

The impression I get from the stone mask is that wearing it just makes you essentially "beneath notice" rather than making you invisible. Which would imply to me that if you're using it to go grocery shopping, your cart and groceries would also just be something people would gloss over. And when you take it off, it's not like you suddenly pop back into existence, it's more like when you suddenly realize someone is standing next to you that you didn't realize was there. Still spooky!
I would interpret the All-Night Mask as preventing you from _feeling_ tired, but not preventing the effects of exhaustion that sleeping is supposed to prevent, like trouble focusing. It'd basically be like magic coffee.

My headcanon is that the Troupe leader's mask doesn't really force the Gorman brothers to cry per se, but it more just reminds them of how their brother has basically failed at life and it makes them feel bad for him.

The transformation masks can't be that painful, they don't do any damage.
They are extremely situational though. They are mostly useful in the areas you get them and in real life can’t serve any practical purpose.
According to a recent(?) statement by the creators, Link screams not because it's *physically* painful, but because all the *sorrow* from the souls in the masks comes flooding into him every time

I think the idea with the stone mask isn't that you become invisible exactly, but that you become _boring._ Doctor Who would later introduce the concept of a perception filter, which crystalizes that idea nicely. They can see you, they're just magically incapable of caring or paying attention. Though for Link's sake it does work the same as any other kind of magical invisibility requiring the lens of truth... In any case, I don't think they would notice a grocery cart pushing itself around, they would just ignore it.

Important point about the Bunny Hood: It's a *hood,* not an actual mask. You wear it on your head. So you can, technically, wear it alongside another mask that goes on your face.

I would put the Goron and Zora masks in the useful in specific situations section. I'll bet that anyone on the Titanic would have killed to have the Zora mask at that time if you know what I mean. Basically, any situation where you may have to traverse large bodies of water would be a great opportunity to use the Zora mask. The Goron mask would be great for fire related emergencies. Burning building you say? Well, Gorons are fire proof so you could just walk right out without a problem. Additionally, the strength of a Goron would be helpful for moving large objects (e.g. furniture, shelves and things like that). Also, while not everyone gets into fights a lot, if you ever do have to fight in self defense, the Goron mask would work wonders for you in real life. I personally would also keep the giant's mask and the fierce deity's mask with me just in case.
I would think the stone mask technically making you unnoticeable (not invisible) would be more lenient,
because instead of items defying the laws of physics by appearing and disappearing randomly or moving on their own, you’re still a person pushing a cart. You’re still a person laying out a picnic blanket, or just sitting on the grass: But no one would save you to their long-term memory.
People would move out of the way of your cart, and you might not be immune to shoplifting, but you will be immune to judgement. Even if your own mother walked straight past you and you waved to her, maybe even say “Hi, Mom!”, she would not remember seeing you in the store today after she gave you a nonchalant “Hi, honey”.
If the properties of the mask extend to items in a shopping cart, you could walk around with a shopping cart that implies an extremely degenerate evening of activities, but no one would bat an eye.
(Might not apply when you have the cashiers scan all these items… But hey, they’ll still ignore you, so only you will carry the shame of what you did that one day; you’re the sole factor on whether you can show your face in that store again. The cashier would just have a crazy story to tell for “weirdest combination of items for one customer”.)
Stone mask would be very useful for those situations where you're walking home late at night or to your car and feel just a bit unsafe. No creepers or muggers would notice you. Definitely #1

I feel like the Giant's Mask could veer into "Actively sucks" territory, because let's say that in the real world, you wouldn't have the in-game limit of only being able to wear it while fighting Twinmold. Unless you're in some massive empty field, transforming into a giant would cause an obscene amount of damage just during the transformation, let alone all the things and/or people that you could accidentally crush just by taking a step. Even disregarding that, people would be terrified of you and you'd likely end up being attacked by the military. And I reckon having your body grow to such immense proportions so quickly would hurt *a lot*
