Fact check: I feel bad for you. I am a guitarist and i can confirm that she has no actual talent!! She just double picked, button mashed, and missed like every single notes didnt flow together.

This was so much fun. I discovered Nini on TH-cam last year and quickly became a fan, and attended as many of her live streams as I could. To see her on AGT and get the praise she deserved was so satisfying. No matter how far she goes in AGT, doors have now been opened.

I think the nicest thing about AGT is that they manage to fill a huge studio with people who seem to actually want the best for the contestants. With so much judgmental negativity everywhere you turn..it’s just nice to see a room full of people enthusiastically cheering for people they don’t even know.

That's not really traditional attire - or if it is it might be inspired by one smaller people group/tribe. But there is actually a movement in China to bring back traditional Chinese clothing. A lot of young people join in. Traditional attire is called "hanfu". There are shorts/tiktoks of people wearing it around. It is really beautiful.

I read some older Chinese would even mistake them for the Kimono early on. I know there is some controversy about the Hanfu vs the Korean Hanbok

The Qing dynasty and the ruling class were from Manchuria. During the several hundred years of that dynasty, fashion was traded between the Manchu and Han peoples, but they also at times forced the Han people to adopt the Manchu fashion, such as forcing men to adopt the queue hairstyle, which was when they shaved the front of their heads and braided the remaining hair into one long braid. This was not always appreciated by the Han people as it was seen to be a way of repressing them (especially the men's hairstyle which was considered a humiliation.) The dresses they wore during the late Qing dynasty eventually developed into the more modern Qipao commonly associated with China of the 1920s. You can see elements of the Qing dynasty fashion in the simple uniforms worn during the Mao era as well. The current fashion trend for Hanfu is hearkening back to the dynasties prior to the Qing dynasty, when the Han people were able to freely wear their own traditional clothing - hence the name "hanfu" (literally "Han clothing").

Not all instruments are appealing to everyone. It's more about how they are played. That's why you were confused. We all know the traditional Chinese instruments, it's when they're played in a way that's not traditional. That's when people notice.

It's not who she is, where she's from or what she's playing. It's when she played those traditional instruments in an untraditional way that people noticed. As in the Romans who created the language and yes also the Hispanics who think their Latinos music) African music and Native American music on a regular basis? I doubt it.

There’s a whole new realm of Chinese and Asian Rock styled music along with the wonderful Classic style. The great thing is that most of it is real. I’d say most westerners think they are the kings of music, those who make the effort to delve into traditional and cultural music of Asia discover just how wonderful it is to listen to these instruments.
There are many amazing artists like Nini in Taiwan this country. 🇹🇼 I think it is because this land carries ancient traditional art, religious music, and the soil of freedom, and that's why the musicians who produce various soulful works with great soul. This is an undervalued land. Of course, this "underestimation" is largely due to CCP, and you will see them in the comment area.
A lot of us already knew what NiNI could do, and a couple minutes could never show all she is truly capable of, yet she still slayed. For anyone interested in the names of the instruments 1st- Luiqin 2nd San Xian, 3rd is a collab creation of hers thar she named DAOYU (look closely, it's not a guitar)

I audition for AGT for 2024 and when you audition you go through a pre-audition before you actually get on the actual show and it's all virtual and she was in my virtual audition room as well so good for her for getting on the show she was in the audition when I saw her so not surprised she got on
