What I've learned about androgyny over some time of researching and questioning myself, I've come to realize that it's really whatever you make it. You can be more masculine, you can be more feminine, you can be directly in between, you can go back and forth depending on your mood, etc. Androgyny is less about females becoming more masculine and males becoming more feminine and more about being comfortable in you own skin and being whatever the hell you want because it's your life and it's your body. You can identify as androgynous and be masculine most of the time but then decide one day that you want to be more feminine, it happens. I am beginning to accept my identity of androgyny but this past week or two I've felt very feminine. That doesn't make me less androgynous and the same can be for you if that's what you feel. Sorry, I know this is a really long response to a three-month-old comment but I just felt like it needed to be said even for people who are reading through the comments and thinking the same thing. (Also, I saw that picture when I was looking for androgynous hairstyles and I was shook because wow I wish I was that attractive lmao)

Superficial. Why in the world is a skirt for instance not masculine? Clothes don't have gender. If you merely switch from "girly" to "boyish" or "somewhere in between" you're simply reinforcing idea that things can be gender loaded - by simply reversing the coin. If she wanted to take up the route of self acceptance or expression, she would not have trouble "being" herself in a pink dress. Adding a tie to the attire does not revolutionize anything, on the contrary - you're still playing by the rules of the game.
