I buy a lot of things in men section in second hands: blazers, shirts, t-shirts, trousers... I found that they have better shapes and materials than clothes for women. I wear them as oversize pieces and I love them so much! Recommend visiting men sections very much.
Sounds great! Thanks for sharing! I have always been a bit jealous when someone says they dress in men’s section. It sounds so cool! Unfortunately I am too short for it, and the smallest size is just too long for me 🤷♀️
@@wonderwardrobe I think it's because you're living and shopping in the Europe where men are mostly towering taller than the rest of the world. I've had great luck finding secondhand menswear made in Japan or Hongkong while travelling in South East Asia. The proportions are very female-friendly - not to mention Japanese fabrics are often very high quality even when they are synthetic. I would recommend Japanese denims, flannel shirts, Levi's trucker jackets, corduroy blazers and classic trench coats as versatile pieces for an androgynous wardrobe.
@Gazpacho Suave Bangkok and Sai Gon both have nice secondhand shops and secondhand markets. You can search about them on Facebook. In Sai Gon (Ho Chi Minh city), I'd recommend Mayhem Sai Gon, a very hip shop.
Same, apart from very few like Isabel Marrant, most clothes for women, imo, are not made for real active women. Impractical, too much frills and extra fabric or lack of, that only suit a certain body types. I prefer shopping into the men's section clean cuts, plain design, then I mix and match fabrics, proportions then I add accessories from brooch to turban.
Vanessa Kountul I feel the same, and even though I’m always attracted to that style, when I put them on, the result it’s not the same and I don’t like the way I look
I think short curvy women can still wear tomboy but proportion has to be considered...nothing is sexier to me than a curvy woman in slightly masculine clothes: she oozes confidence in her beauty..the contrast of curves with macho tailoring can be quite scintillating. Sometimes I borrow my husband’s ties or suspenders to wear with an appropriate jacket, etc. DONT GIVE UP just because you are curvy. I’m curvy too and my man thinks I look intriguing.
It's my style. I always didn't like too feminine, too girly, to perfect looks. I always want to have some musculine element in the outfit or something to break the rules, something imperfect . I dont feel comfortable in too girly outfits. I tried to wear girly dresses or skirts, etc, but i understood, that it doesn't work for me. I have a lot of blazers, mens' shirts, trousers, jeans in my wardrobe. Most of them were bought in secondhand and vintage stores. I also wear dresses , but i mix them with something musculine.
Amazing! Thanks for sharing! I like to get inspiration from vintage online shop The Level. They sell men’s or menswear inspired jackets, trousers, and have a very nice minimalist styling.
I find it really interesting that you refer to feminine looks as the "perfect" ones. It is usually menswear that is expected to be perfectly styled and tailored to accomodate for lack of design choices.
I think of this as a minimalist style - clean, simple, classic, but also can be edgy, especially if the color scheme is kept neutral and accessories are used strategically. I love Eileen Fisher and Elizabeth Suzann for this "tomboy" style. Also Rick Owens. I also look at a lot of fashion from the 80s and 90s for inspiration, like Georgio Armani and Calvin Klein.

Thanks for another great video. I am so glad to see lots of ladies commenting about loving this too. I've always worn lots of these items but sometimes struggle w/ the balance of the cuts on my petite pear shape. I'm not a leggy Hepburn type
Thanks for the tips! The tomboy look has been my style since then. I am thin and girly looks in my opinion, requires some curves which I don't have. I grew comfortable with the masculine-feminine style and I hope we can all be confident in our own styles! Love this video! 💞
Thank you Daria! I also had trouble naming my style. I am classic tomboy which became so clear with your description. Everything became so clear, even the women I have most admired. Thank you again.
I've always dressed comfortably, like a tomboy. They could never put me in a dress. And I'm a feminine woman with kids and grandkids. My style has always been skinny jeans or ponte pants, tunics or t-shirts, and one all-purpose cardigan. No purse, one pair of all black sneakers, and one pair of edgy black ankle boots. All items are black, grey, or a pop of color in the t-shirts. I own less than twenty articles of clothing, and my entire wardrobe fits in a carry-on bag. Freedom!
The items in this style I wear most often are vests and wool sweaters. My husband was recently giving away a couple sweaters and a vest that he didn't wear anymore, and said, "you know, you would probably like these". He was right.. They are perfect!
Love it! I just found your videos and this is my style. Jeans here is a rule. Wonder wardrobe is fantastic. I don´t like to buy tons of pieces to make things happen. Getting to know all the combinations you do is a real solution for me. Thank you!
Wonderful! I am a full figure lady and this is my exact style! I already own most of these items with the addition of lots of scarves and also a few statement necklaces since I want to draw the persons eye upwards. I didn’t know until your video that my style had a name. And you’re correct, it isn’t talked about enough! Ive worn clothes like this since I was a teen.
How nice! I am glad you liked the video and found something new in it! It’s smart that you use accessories to redirect attention to your face. Thanks for sharing!
I wasn't totally convinced until you showed me the mix and matches with the wardrobes. I was surprised with how versatile it could become with a few select pieces :) thank you for this video!
Thank you for this marvellous video...an absolute joy. Most of my wardrobe over the last 30 years has come from the men’s dept...be they new or second hand. I find the materials and cut far superior especially for my 6 foot frame..
I love this style, most of my wardrobe consists of this style. Thank you for this video. Your channel is my favourite; it's unique and beautifully done.
I love to shop for shirts in the men section, I like the cuts better and it's my go to item in spring and summer over a pair of jeans ! I also think that men's wear accessories like baker boy caps and fedora hats are gorgeous.
Funny now that I’ve found myself fitting in a category, but this is it! Daria your explanation is so on point. A subtle touch of “femininity” is something I try with the style, but I always get lazy and just end up wearing the same old (but favorite) necklace and earrings.
Why funny? I think it’s a pretty cool style! :) oh well, don’t force “femininity” too much, just add some little things from time to time like a red lip, small heel or silk blouse 👌
Daria Andronescu Thanks for your advice! It means a lot to me. I do wear silk shirt/blouses, ankle boots, kitten heels, etc. By the way, I said “funny” not about the style, which is fantastic, but about the fact that now I belong to a group (I never took personality test, for example).
Thank you for making this video! I have had "tomboy" style since I was a little girl. A lot of my wardrobe is from the men's section too just because I prefer those shapes and sizes. My go-to outfit for colder weather is: Chunky knit sweater with a pair of cropped black trousers and a pair of suede sneakers or boots. Pair it with a leather jacket or wool trench and it's perfect. xx
I got a lot of outgrown clothes from my older brother when I was little so I am used to tomboy style. Haha... I especially love leather biker jacket, and I prefer the simplicity of men's jackets and sweaters to women's style much more.
I would describe my style as Tomboy with a touch of fantasy mainly in the shoes and warm colours. I love all those beautiful material like wool and cashmere in my pull-overs, trousers and blazers. Personally I have taupe Chelsea boots, pointy low cowboy boots (burgundy) and beige sneakers for the fall. :) Thanks for the video
This is totally my style! I love the video! but i live in Brazil and is summer almost all year long! Can you give some options or tips for this kind of climate? Thanks!
Until I watched this video, I didn’t know both the name of my style and that I definitely belong to Tomboy style. The pieces I have been wearing and the way I match them are totally like the ones explained in the video and thanks a million for making me more aware of my style and I discovered your channel not long ago tbh you are giving such precious info that no book can cover. You are amazing 💙Speaking of one of my fav tomboy piece which is not mentioned in the video is mom jeans. I think it is so versatile to match them especially with blazers and oxfords.
I love this style. But, the word tomboy always makes me think of sporty girls in jeans and hoodies, I want to dress like a lady gentleman, like Katharine Hepburn. Like someone else said here, I too wear a lot of second hand shop items, both for men and women, usually while or black, and mostly in summer to avoid shorts and t-shirts. They feel so lush and elegant and classic. For example my favourite summer pants are simple white 3/4 pants for women from a second hand shop, but they are 5 sizes too big so on me they look like low rise culottes. I also follow a channel called Gentleman's Gazette and try to get creative with their men's style tips through women's clothes that fit my body (I'm size 32-34, no way I could pull off wearing men's clothes other than as oversized "statement" items). I like plain t-shirts too but only if it's cold enough to wear a suit jacket on top. And yessss, structured, classic looking handbags!
Daria, thank you! This style type and wardrobe really spoke to me. Oxfords and trousers are wardrobe staples for me, coupled with slightly cropped sweaters or jackets. And hats!
Love this style which I call Annie Hall style. As for dresses I had a problem to wear them as I always used to say men don’t wear dresses 😂 but as we know it’s not true any more I wear them. What I do is wear them often on pants. Or with chunky boots, sneakers, leather jackets. The only difference vs Daria proposals is accessories . I love to exaggerate with them. Fancy big jewelry it’s a must for me. I like also ties, I make shopping often in men’s sections. I have many men’s blazers. And quality matters of course!
Well I wear male chinos and wool sweaters, female blazers, shirts and jeans. I found many male clothes are of better quality, more natural fabrics. Also I am tall and female trousers and sleeves are usually too short for me. I use my bike daily so skirts are impractical or even impossible to wear.
I was wondering the other day if you would ever do a wardrobe that actually reflected my personal style lol. Definitely keep the menswear-inspired wardrobes coming, I'll watch all of them!!
My style is also tomboy but not the classic, elegant one :p It's more like a modern grunge with creepers, chains, holes in my jeans, flannels etc. I am not a teen anymore so I am trying to make it a little calmer but can't give it up, it's how I feel like me.
Well, apparently some of my wardrobe "whispers" tomboy. Maybe because I live in the country. I give you a big thank you for this video. You gave me ideas for outfits I hadn't thought of, using pieces I own (and never would have put together). I like the outfit at 3:39, 5:20, 5:16 and got the pieces covered. I only watched this video out of curiosity. You do great work, thank you.
Many thanks for very informative video! I like this style very much. Are there some special recommendations for women with hourglas or pear body type who would like to wear the tomboy outfits? Thanks!
I love the Tomboy style. I have a very, very casual Tomboy style though.Black and white Converse are my go to. Boyfriend jeans " men's tank undershirts in dark colors, the classic Kurt Cobain cardigan w leggings, graphic tees, etc. I have short, red, hair, but I always have a smoky eye, just to keep it girly.
This is very similar to my personal style, I actually think it can be very sexy, for instance I myself wear all tomboy outfit but with a transparent shirt and a lace bra underneath, or accentuate a feminine bodyshape by wearing a belt on my waist over the oversized blazer and buy taylored pants, but high waisted ones and tuck my shirt in.
Haha. First I thought that I am rather in a classic style than in a tomboys; but the example shows my wardrobe. So I think I am mostly dressed as tomboy. Thanks 🤗
But you’re right as well. The wardrobe I showed here has a Classic style with casual elements. It’s always a classic style but the complementary elements can be taken from any other style. Tomboy can be more sexy, or punk or boho or creative... depends on your personal style.
Yes, I thought this seemed very classic....so now I'm a little confused between the difference between 'tomboy' and 'classic'. I'm sure I'm somehow a bit of both but now I just don't get the difference. Also, maybe it's because I don't work in a professional setting or maybe because I'm In Canada but our version of 'tomboy' is much more masculine...baggy, ripped boyfriend jeans, flannel plaid button ups, Blundstone boots. Or big oversized sweatshirts or 'grandpa' cardigans. It's much more practical for everyday wear in the winter.
Great video! Question: I LOVE Tomboy style but I have an hourglass shape so it feels harder to pull off the Tomboy style. Would you agree? Any suggestion?
Contrast between harder materials and draping, and cut off the neckline (and possibly arms in t- shirts) the lower neckline is more flattering but doesn’t get to busty. Leather or pleather and for suits avoid dubbelbreasted, look for one or three buttons, smoking cut on the lapels is really flattering. Schals are great to give more vertical lines also don’t be afraid of shoulderpads. Avoid rectangels or square s in the clothing. Example what I wore for an award show ( Nope, wasn’t nominated for anything) smoking jacket in black, gold pleated cami, dark grey/ black jeans skinnies, tall boots and a really wide and big old gold coloured egyptianlooking turquoise necklace in blue and green and an orange lipstick. So about 2/3 masculine but the last third was hella feminine adjust this to your proportion ( might depend on the day). Oh and boots are your friend as are leather backpacks and bigger manbags as well as eyeliner or kajal OR a daring lip. To get more focus on your face and whatever aspect you want to highlight ... but not the whole hog visible Or just go nude but well kept. Really Big jewellry and one or poss 2 or Very dainty avoid in between the proportions for some reason are thrown off. For good example of how to tomboy dressing with a curvy hourglass body check Helen Mirren out .
kysa knopkina =) ... To be honest, took a while to understand the bodytype and the Style. Especially after body changes as I got older as well as having been pregnant .what many people aren’t aware of is that even you don’t give birth having been pregnant whatever the end result changes the body breasts, hips etc including the bone structure in the pelvis and the hormones in the body to redistribute things. One thing I really would have liked information about in school. Also that you can change colours that suit you all through your life so every five years or so it’s time to take photos of yourself ( you normally can’t see it as well in a mirror) for some reason and check the colours, the Style, the haircut and see if it fits you as you are or if it’s time to do an update of either a couple of things or grand overhaul. Also the question should always be posed ... happened to me in a an earlier relationship and scared the bejesus out of me have I become boring? And if I have what can I do about it! Memento mori !
@@annarehbinder7540 same here! I already commented above about my Kibbie's bodyshape discovery, that changed my way of shopping and first of all accepting myself as is and finding clothing peaces that flatter my look and elevate my nature beauty.
Question: I love the outfits you’ve shown for women, but can you do a similar style video for tween tomboys. My 11 yr old granddaughter has an apple shape, doesn’t want to wear anything too feminine, pink, dresses, or that looks like something her mom would wear. Can you help?
This is my style :) although for some reason I don't like this capsule compared to your others. Would love to see a more colorful spring/summer tomboy capsule though!
Thanks for this! I basically have all the items in this capsule within my wardrobe - I love a wool jumper and wool trousers. I just need to incorporate some right textures. What were the muses you mentioned in the video? I heard Coco a Chanel, Amelia Earhart and Audrey Hepburn, who were the others you mentioned? Thank you!
Thank you for creating a video that was both stylish and informative. I appreciate that it was so well -researched. You should consider changing the name of your channel to one that indicates/implies/points to the nature of the channel, rather than just your name, as that might attract more subscribers.
Hi, I live in Brasil where the weather is extremely hot, can you please help me adaptat this wordrobe to heat of 47° celcius, the weather is always difficult. Can you help? thanks anyways :) love the video.
I love that style but I always prefer pairing it with either unisex (tennis shoes, sneaker) or feminine shoes and boots with a medium heel. I just don't like Oxfords and loafers at all 😅🌹
In my 20s most of my shorts were from the men's section but as I aged, my breast size has increased making it very uncomfortable to wear button downs (gaping).😔
When women's clothes were too girly and flimsy for my taste (70's), I loved men's clothes. I finally had to admit that my curves and 36DDD's just didn't work with those clothes. Shirts were either too big (to accommodate my chest) or the buttons gaped (or popped open). I remembered liking the sophisticated European look of men who wore pullovers and turtlenecks under their blazers. So I tried it--I switched to mock-turtlenecks and V-necks and rarely ever wore button downs again. They're vastly superior to cotton button-downs: no ironing, no buttons to lose or pop open or gape, no cuffs to roll up, shows my curves a little, free-er movement (knit), and very comfy. They have a certain elegant simplicity and sensuality as well.
I love this film and this is exactly my work style :) btw you look stunning - I love when you style yourself in more lighter autumn colors - beautiful!
Another great video! I love this style but I tent to mix it with more femminine items, depending on my mood and the occasion! : ) I definitely go for it for day looks and at night I like to mix for instance a flower print mini dress with a more masculine blazer and shoes or a tom boy look with more femminine heels and so on..
I live in a very cold place. I like to wear a blazer but in the winter need to also wear another coat over it. Any tips on layering blazers and coats in different seasons? Especially colder months.
Daria, this is amazing video, I love this style so much! Is there any chance that you can make a summer version of Tomboy style? I live in a very warm climate place, wish I could wear all these style but in hot weather!! Thank you in advance!! X Lynn

I love this style, most of my wardrobe consists of this style. Thank you for this video. Your channel is my favourite; it's unique and beautifully done.
Aww thank you! I appreciate your support and happy that you enjoyed this video as well! More wardrobe ideas are coming your way ❤️
I love to shop for shirts in the men section, I like the cuts better and it's my go to item in spring and summer over a pair of jeans ! I also think that men's wear accessories like baker boy caps and fedora hats are gorgeous.
Beautiful! I agree, for example I always buy beanies in men’s sections, they fit and are made so much better!
Pair it with a leather jacket or wool trench and it's perfect.
xx
Thank you for talking about this style: this is my style! I always wear scarves and jewellery to balance the masculine side.
I LOVE my denim overalls with hems ripped to 3/4 length and paired with comic book inspired t-shirts
And hats!
Uuu nice! I forgot about hats! What kind of hats do you wear with this style?
@@wonderwardrobe I have a wool fedora :)
This is the style I like and have always struggled to articulate. Great video. 👍
This has been one of your best!!! Thank you
Aww thanks! I am so glad to hear that!
Smart! I’ve read that male clothing is also cheaper! 👌
Beautiful video, Daria, very inspirational.
I’m 13 so I can still kinda shop in the boy section at h&m and also get high top vans or converse or something similar they look so cool
Fallen in love in your explainings. Absolutely proffesional.
Love your accent! Great video by the way
Many thanks for very informative video! I like this style very much. Are there some special recommendations for women with hourglas or pear body type who would like to wear the tomboy outfits? Thanks!
You’re welcome! Glad you liked it. I’d recommend going for slightly softer fabrics, and choosing high-wasted trousers for a better fit.
Thank you :D I have been trying to find my style for a while now and this has helped me a lot. Thank you
Yess thank god 🥰 this is exactly what I wanted
I have a bowtie, suspenders and masculine style shoes.
Glad to hear from you Bogi! Yes, these are all unique and interesting items that can spice this style up! Thanks for sharing! 💛
Hi daria, could you make a video for androgyny style too? Thank you 😊
I love the Tomboy style. I have a very, very casual Tomboy style though.Black and white Converse are my go to. Boyfriend jeans " men's tank undershirts in dark colors, the classic Kurt Cobain cardigan w leggings, graphic tees, etc. I have short, red, hair, but I always have a smoky eye, just to keep it girly.
whaaat ! I have almost the exact same wardrobe :) super funny! Your are so proficient in what you do!
Super! Thank you 🙌
I just created this capsule for my new job! I found your video after shopping online. I’m happy to know that I will have at least 48 outfits to wear.
yes, please tell us where your shirt is from. I must have it!
I thought this was edgy-classic dressing but I like the tomboy name more!
Thank you so much. You got a lot of respect and tolerance and are real nice .
Thank you! Fashion is not an easy topic for most women so I try my best to create a space of safe discovery, creativity and understanding 😌
Love this video am a 18 year old girl and I love wearing t shirts and jeans and Converse and I love sports.
this video is so professional i feel like i need to sit up straighter
This is 100% me, such a great video. I could wear every outfit you chose🙌Thank you 🥰
Aww so nice! I am glad you enjoyed the video! ❤️
Thank you so much for being such an inspiration ♥️🔥💫...
❤️
Great video Daria. You look beautiful! 💐
I just found your channel, and may I say -wow! Im totally classic girl but I love color. Perfect video
I finally found the right term for my style.
Great video! Question: I LOVE Tomboy style but I have an hourglass shape so it feels harder to pull off the Tomboy style. Would you agree? Any suggestion?
I agree, you can put a belt at the waist in a bottom down shirt or tuck in just the front part of the shirt
@@annarehbinder7540 wow! I sign under every word!
kysa knopkina =) ...
This is it!!!!!This is my style👍👍👍Thank you for explaining it
You’re welcome! 🙌 I am so happy you found it useful.
Great video! Thank you Daria! This is my style 😊 Very well represented!
Great video 💯👍 And I love your blouse!!!
Aww thank you! ❤️
I love this type of style, almost all of my clothes are like this! :) good video.
Lovely! I am glad you liked it! More wardrobe ideas are coming soon.
Love this style! Please any suggestions so I can use it while I’m short and curvy/heavy
Where can i buy the blouse you have on??? It is perfect! I do not like tie dye, but your looks so classy, not sloppy. Please tell me
Claudia coy i think its Massumi Dutti. Thwy did bring our a similar one a few months back
This is my style :) although for some reason I don't like this capsule compared to your others. Would love to see a more colorful spring/summer tomboy capsule though!
I love the way she talks :)
I just love that style. 😊 i have been always including man' items in my outfits 😂 now i know the exact mame of that style . Thanks
You are so welcome! 🤗
i love that you use amelia as a style icon ...
Hi, I live in Brasil where the weather is extremely hot, can you please help me adaptat this wordrobe to heat of 47° celcius, the weather is always difficult. Can you help? thanks anyways :) love the video.
Your shirt is very beautiful. What is the brand?
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video! ❤️🙌
Another great video! I love this style but I tent to mix it with more femminine items, depending on my mood and the occasion! : )
I definitely go for it for day looks and at night I like to mix for instance a flower print mini dress with a more masculine blazer and shoes or a tom boy look with more femminine heels and so on..
Than maybe you have a more feminine/romantic style with a tomboy touch 🤔👌❤️
I live in a very cold place. I like to wear a blazer but in the winter need to also wear another coat over it. Any tips on layering blazers and coats in different seasons? Especially colder months.
Just make sure your coat/puffer jacket is spacious enough to wear thicker clothes underneath and it also should be longer than you blazer 🤗
I also have a free e-book dedicated to winter layering! Download it here: wonder-wardrobe.com/blog/layering-outfits
Daria, this is amazing video, I love this style so much! Is there any chance that you can make a summer version of Tomboy style? I live in a very warm climate place, wish I could wear all these style but in hot weather!! Thank you in advance!! X Lynn
Love this style!!
Love this! I defenitely lean towards an andro look without realizing it. But at the same time I love wearing feminine ethnic clothes (from my own heritage). There is no inbetween :)
Thanks! Yes, but you can totally work with that! The androgynous looks can be for work and the ethnic ones for your leisure time 👌
