The following story is about Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo evading taxes in India. Next, is about Threads app by Meta, their users are going down very rapidly and people are not engaging with Threads as much as they do with Twitter. The final story is my opinion on Samsung Galaxy Unpacked happened in Korea where Samsung launched its new Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5. So, there’s a lot to cover. Let’s Go!!

The main reason for Apple "increasing share" is because, Android prices are now more or equal to Apple phones.
And if someone is paying about 40-45k , then he naturally go iPhone just because it also got a brand value , but the market for 10-15k has shifted to 20-40k to fill the gap , and same phones which once costed 20k are coming for 40k😢
Well u r right that android prices have increased.. but u need to remember Android has different phones for different price segments... from like 8k to 120k Rs.
So u can one can only compare a 80k iphone to a 80k flagship android. but android has choices in lower-mid end.

@@deathmen7872 which one bro you get a flagship processor within 40k, earlier chips were not powerful and these days they are being optimised well for performance. Snapdragon 870, 888+, 8 gen 2 not even a drop in performance working smoothly. If phones get cheaper then how come you can differentiate which one is expensive or cheaper, i have one plus device even after 3 years it holds a good resale value.
Buying an apple cannot be compared with an audi 😕 because audi stands out and apple finds a corner for itself and restrained by creating a boundary. Its nothing but a status symbol
And one more ... All Google apps and Google backup work seamlessly on iPhone .. Gmail, Google Map , Google Drive and especially Google photos .. so you don't have to transfer data or buy iCloud subscription. I well researched and bought iPhone to install my office's applications like outlook and blackberry symphony.. due to security those work on iPhone best than Android

Peer pressure and status. We tend to look down at anybody owning a Chinese phone. An iPhone at hand gives us validation that we're not poor at least. No wonder, concepts like Mirror selfie even originated at the first place. Need a proof? Launch original iPhones with no Apple logo at half the price but ppl will still pay 2x for the one with logo

Just bought Samsung s23 base model. Ditched the 13 pro max as the screen had issues after using it for 1.5 yrs. Also it was too bulky and heavy for my hands. Just Loving the size and weight of s23.
Apple has also 6.1 inches iphone 13 pro if you hate big devices

For me its the OS. and those security updates for 5+ years.
The only other device which offer somewhat longterm security updates is Google's Pixel.
Also feasible financial options are making things easier for Indians.
I think millions of Indians are not only buying iphones, but all costly phones.
Samsung provides 4 years of updates for their flagships if I am not mistaken
Also check out M34 5G under 20K with 4 years of Android updates and 5 years of security in the budget range
The only brand providing 5 years of security updates is Samsung and not Google's Pixel.

I've used my friend's iPhone and after using it for 2 days , i realised iPhones are not made for me as i install so many open source apps, official mod apks, ADB debugging and putting Andromeda to provide rootless theming and customisation........ I can't live without compromising such features
The first Apple product I bought was an I pad in 2020, there were not many reliable and high performance tablets back then and there were availability issues as well, due to rise in demand in Covid.
Had already used Samsung galaxy tabs twice and was not happy with the experience. I’m sure things have improved now.
The ecosystem and the performance blew me away, still works like new after 3.5 years. Which led me to buy an iPhone after a year and a Apple Watch after that.
Having been a hardcore android user since almost the beginning of smartphone era, I miss the customisations and tweaks I could do with an android, but reliability and performance are now my main requirements.
Don't know why you guys obsessed with apple. I'm using a 4 year old android phone(asus max pro m1) and it is still working as new. No slow downs or hangs.
And what reliability? It's also a phone.it can die any time just like any other phone. It all depends our usage.

It’s all subjective sure but I see my father using a 6 year old I pad air gives me a reasonable assurance that the product will give me value over long term. Of course any product can die, they are electronics after all. But it’s my perception of value and long term benefits makes me choose apple products now. And in premium products the prices are comparable so I’d choose a brand which has given me reliability as per my experience. Your experience may be different.

iPad Air : very bad build quality in iPad gen 5 , cracking sounds and if you touch at back , docts appear on screen

I got an iPad in 2017… That iPad still works flawlessly and I just don’t feel the need to upgrade it as of now… I have an old iPhone 6s, just as a backup phone, I changed its batteries and it works as good as new…
That’s why people buy Apple, coz you buy it once and it’ll keep working for years and with amazing quality.. That 6s I have still takes pictures much better than many android phones today…
That’s the reason… It’s an investment… And it gives amazing returns… Resale value as well…
I have an infinix phone from 2017 that my brother still uses without needing to change battery and my friend got her iphpne last year , does not turn on , the service center is asking 1 lakh for the repair so yes ! Anecdotes
No everyone buys iPhone for show off and social Status. There is something called optimisation and performance which most of the android smartphones suck at in long term. I know you are an android fanboy but when you are an influencer you should be unbiased. You can't go far with a prejudiced mind.

Personal Experience : I am a Andriod user and still continues to use Android as my primary device ( Note 20 ultra ) but recently bought a second hand ( 20 days old ) iphone 12 mini from my friend as a spare phone and also wanted to use a iphone since i never used one ( I have only used Macbook air , Ipad mini so far and loved the experience ) . Before using Iphone i considered it as only showoff piece highly overpriced ( I still continue to believe so to some extent...) but after using it since last 4 months i can say even tough there not much of a difference i feel but Iphone just feels better optimized... i cant explain but it just feels a lot more smoother and a bit better in terms of perfomance. like Note 20 me beech beech me kya hojata hai automatically wifi band hojata hai , mobile data kam nahi karta even tough upar show kar raha hota hai.... still now didnt feel such issues in iphone. I may not buy a brand new iphone as primary device but i think i will keep a older iphone as my side phone.

I am using Note 20 Standard model, I didn't faced the issues you mentioned, i have 200 apps, No Games, Wifi, GPS Always ON, Only Major issue is Battery Drains very fast, even if not using the Phone, phone heats up while recording Video, and Recording Stops, that too while recording only for few minutes.
Been a Samsung user since 2019.
Pehle S10, then S21 and now S23 Plus.
S21 me network reception was poor in remote areas(smaller towns)
Never had any issues with my S10 or S23 Plus. S10 is still runs without laga
They improved a lot in s23 series , even s22 series was messy considering the poor battery life and heat , s23 has great battery life has no stutters as in s22 they underclocked the processor to save battery , speakers , microphone , cooling is also much better than 22 series

@@SANI50o I don't think 8 gen 2 is underclocked, if anything 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy is especially overclocked just for S23 series. It's just that 8 Gen 2 is such a great processor, it even rivals the A16 Bionic.

After a few yrs these iPhone craze will fall down. In US, no one doesn't really care who's using which phone as almost 90% use iPhone. And its not that crazy expensive in the US. Here in India its all about show off. Only few... may be less than 10% of iPhone users are bothered about the Software experience and ecosystem. Others buy it just for the Apple logo.

I’m the user of iOs since iPhone 5s & iPod touch series generation when there was literally no hype and craze at all in India & still using the same operating system with no complaints carrying iPhone 11 & 13 both❤️
Majority sold is non pro series with 60hz in 2023.
Now iSheeps don't say iPhone 60 hz is Android 120hz, it's not clearly not.
Honestly, I can’t say the difference between 120hz and 60hz. I used to use mi 11x(it’s currently with my mother). I experimented with this 60hz and 120hz setting and noticed nothing. Now I am using iPhone 14 plus and still noticing nothing. I am not talking about general population. I am just stating my case.
I switched to Android (S23) from an iPhone (11 Pro) few months back. Other than its Camera, Animations and Software updates theres nothing impressive in an iPhone. Whereas I have tons of reasons to say no to iPhone.

Fold is actually under speced phone with heavy compromise on basic hardware. Dual screens are absolutely unreliable.battery is low .

1) At somepoint EMI option has became a game changer.
Ex:- I want to buy an iPhone 13 in BBD sale at 40k. I will buy it even though my salary is 20k.. my thought process will be (koi na har week hafta bhardunga usmai kya).
2) BBD SALE AND AMAZON SALE
3) even Android phone has became equal to or sometimes even more than iphone price.. people will think 40-50k deke Android kyu kareedu? ... iPhone leta hu society mai vath padega.

I think the main reasons iphones are being sold more in India are:
1. More disposable income among middle class
2. EMI options availability that makes even lower middle-class people able to afford iphones.
I just checked. The iPhone 14 256GB on Flipkart is on offer for Rs. 2543 EMI for 48 months. Tenure is 48 months, but it is affordable now.
Meaning they have to keep paying it for 4 years regardless of it working or not😭😭

Last year I bought a iPhone 13 and don’t know how it’s display got damaged on it’s own….since that day I haven’t fixed my phone, it’s too expensive!!
My reasons for people buying iPhones:
Status symbol: Just show off to some one by wasting lakhs of money instead of focusing what their needs are. Funny part is majority won't use even a fraction of iPhone potential.
Domino effect: someone is buying so I should also buy. No second thought like why should I buy, how much of it i can utilise, are those features really necessary to me
Apple marketing strategy
In my case, I gave up android because of less reliability. It was a 35k phone and it had Calling issues, also slow and unstable. Crappy camera. I bought an iPad Pro last year and it was smooth and fast. Never lagged. And there is not much difference in price between android and iPhones in premium segment. Even midrange phones are going up in price. Got a 14 plus a few month ago and enjoying it. I have 100+ apps in my recents screen at the moment along with games and it never lagged or overheated. Battery life is also very good. I am getting a little over 1 day. I want my phone to be spotless as keeping it pristine can maintain my phone’s resale value. So I got a rugged case for it. And then my sister nagged about that for a month straight saying that it was ugly till I changed the case to a transparent one. I should have got a silicon case. Saw that with a friend. It was grippy and functional.

@@ILNSuryaChandramaybe you didn't make the right choice for which Android you bought. You should specify. Android market is so big that you cannot generalise it based on one bad experience, which may even have been caused by your own bad choice.
Secondly, comparing a ₹80k device with a ₹35k device is a dumb move. Ipad pro literally costs twice and thus, should be expected to be much better anyways.

I work in delhi and most of working class youngster buy iphone in emi.Even though there salary is 20k.
I was shocked when one of my freind whose salary is around 22k brough iphone 14 worth 80k in emi.
i still use a redmi note 10 pro. i seriously cannot see any reason for buying such expensive phones.
Wierd thing is around 90% of these people don't use anything other than whatsapp, youtube, insta and fb..These things even work on a 20k phone smoothly.

I have a little different take on why some people buy the iphones. First of all the price is getting relatively cheaper with their former prices 4-5 yrs ago. Heck, nowadays even some android phones are costlier than iphone standard models.
Secondly, the lack of complete trust in androids. Software update bugs, bad build quality and everything. I have a samsung S20FE. This phone worked perfectly for a year. But with each recent updates, the phone's software is getting buggier and the battery life sucks. You have to admit that. And google as a whole isn't helping with the security patches and updates. Look at all the recent updates making the phone worse than before.
Thirdly, the build quality is nowhere near good as an iphone. My s20fe back panel is getting lose on some sides, after 8 -9 months. I know it's because of hot weather conditions and everything. But what's the use of ip68 rating if water can seep inside of the loose back panel.
And the iphone I'm comparing to is one of my friend's iphone xr who bought it nearly 3 years ago. It's still in good condition.
If you stuck till the end thanks. I'm not an android hater. Actually I'm a big fan of s22, 23 and older note series phones. But the devil is really in the details.
I know samsung camera is good, even better at taking photos than iphones. Android phones give more storage and even have faster charing, and the best of all, a good and vibrant screen.

The major problem is that android mobiles companies are not focusing much on quality updates. I own a 4 year old realme 3 pro and since last update it's lagging alot so much that i can't even use it so was planning to upgrade to a 30k android phone but the problems starts here
Going for 30k means i want phone to justify the price but here the options are so mid
1) Moto edge 40 (Bullshit camera, below avg battery, no screen protection, too much heating)
2) Oneplus ( green line issue)
3) realme (too much bloatware)
4)Vivo v27 ( heard that it's bending and build quality is shit)
5)Nothing ( i hate that UI and back panel)
6) Samsung ( L designs and fat edges on screens)
And I'm left with no good phone. All option i have is to wait for BBD and buy an IPhone 13 for the most lowest price possible. This iphone is the only mobile where I've heard longterm good reviews.

I used iPhone 5c for 5 years. I’m using iPhone XR for the past 3 years and I will use it for next 2-3 years. Poora paisa vasool. iPhones are good. I dropped my phones millions of times but nothing happens. I don’t use any dinchak features offered by android phones. iPhone never hangs. I don’t buy the latest iPhone. Always buy one model behind for half the price. Perfect for people like me.

Sometimes lag nut it's gud for social media. For gaming it was gud back then now it's mid.but my display stopped working after 4 months of used, then I replaced it with fake display and it is still working but the screen got crack on October 2022. I'm planning to buy s23+ on bbd hope it doesn't disappoint. 🤷♂️

People won't but samsung over and over again forever . All UI is same. Chinese android still has reliability issues and people want 5 years atleast for phones to run . Outgoing Apple phones are cheaper to afford considering most android phones are now costing 35 k plus which are meaning full to use . 3 years back all finest android phones coated around 15 K which was way cheaper then apple phones with no respectable brand like LG ,Htc , Motorola , Sony existing in Indian market Apple makes more sense costing 50 -70 k that can last 5 years atleast . It's no more a status symbol with no cost EMI being most popular way to purchase cell phone that doesn't interfere in monthly expsnese

I bought iPhone mini just for its form factor. Now I miss android. May be by next year I will go back to using Android no matter how much ever big the phone is.
I too had this feeling when I bought iPhone 11 Pro couple of yrs back. It was a bad decision. As it was very expensive, I somehow used it for almost 3 yrs. A few months back I switch back to Android (S23). Now I m totally satisfied.

@@meetsingh7709theres so much more you can do on android than on ios , s23 ultra has spen tho not much of use for me , great cameras overall much better microphones than ip , galaxy buds work flawlessly and straight up better in sound profile while being much cheaper than airpods with and can be charged thru reverse wireless charging , theres so much you can do in one ui , cant even map side key on iphone , slow af animations, absoulte no option for multitasking , universal and bt equaliser inbuilt in samsung , dolby atmos is way more useful , thats only available in apple music, samsung has better haptic implimentation like much better although haptics are stronger on iphone , notifications are much better , astrophotography, screen mirroring to any tv with much ease , 3rd party app stores , i use streamio to watch movies which arent available on netflix that too for free , i use wired headphones aswell with adapter and can easily play flac files/audio , battery health deteriorates slower than iphones always! , everything else in terms of hardware is on par , tho s23 charges slightly faster , even adaptive brightness is way better on samsung much more accurate , cant even set up alarms on iphone on a particular date , just reminders that too through calendar app , i have used both for a long time and iphone genuinely suck , only good for oldies or social media freaks , the compression quality is better on instagram, and other apps for ios. Routines on samsung is wayyy more customisable and better than shortcuts on ios. Cant even turn off location on ios without fiddling in settings app. And yea samsung has better lte and 5g connectivity aswell , just more consistent with signal and lte speed

I switched from Iphone to Android baught Vivo x 80 , Abhi 1 saal nahi hua and it's lagging all the time . I phone i used for 4 years without any trouble. I will switch to Iphone again

I was an Android user for 10 years and then shifted to an iPhone. So far the best decision made. My main reason to shift was the problems Android companies started to create. I was using Oneplus at that time. They sent an update which killed my device. And after using Oneplus, I wanted a phone which is priced good, perform well and have a clean UI. Thats when I got iPhone 12(128gb) in 2021 at 50k. Samsung was an option I was thinking to consider but their prices didn’t reduce and they had Exynos chipsets at that time. I also use my father’s old Poco F1 as my secondary device due to iOS limitations.
One plus gives undergrading updates and destroys the originality. Best one plus phone is to avoid update .

I have myself switched from android to iphone. I was a constant samsung user but finally switched. The way apple phones work even after 2-3 years and after multiple updates is simply not there in android phones. Don’t know about present android flagships. My galaxy S7 used to heat up, poor battery life, inconsistent camera after just 1 year. No such issues with apple. Actually apple gets the basics right for which I guess people prefer it. I can settle with 60hz display and 2 cameras, but I need stablity, no heating up and consistent camera.
