    I don't know how you got the plywood under the box spring to fit the bed frame and stay in place 😢

    I would love to see a picture of your mattress on top for some reason I just can’t visualize it. I’m attempting to make something similar I have a platform bed but the mattress leaves two small corners at the top open for my cats to crawl under the slats 😵‍💫

    I got done buying a new king size mattress and box springs. I wish I just made thrm myself.
    But I built the bed frame and headboards. Aint nothing breaking that frame lol. Thr side supports are 2x8 attached to 4x4 post with 1/4th lag bolts.
    We tried our best to rock the bed during the deed, and nothing! Lol. I even made it custom height so can lay on her back for some edge action lol.
    We had a Casper system and it definitely doesn't hold up for bedroom fun for us lol

    Do you have to have slats on the bedframe to support the middle of this box spring or does the box spring have enough strength to just rest on the side rails and not develop a sag? Thanks.

    What type of wood did you use

  • @jordanculver9521
    @jordanculver9521 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    For first step, it's much faster to cut one of the short pieces, then instead of using the measuring tape again, lay the cut piece on top of the 2x4 you're cutting up and scribe a line showing you where to cut the long piece. Keep using the same first piece to 'measure' out how long the following matching pieces should be. Bonus: your pieces will be closer to all exactly the same length than if you eyeball it using a tape measure.

      did you click ont he website for printable instructions, I could not understand the measurments of the 5 piecese on each 2 x 4 x 8. The measurments are not correct to follow.

    Can't tell you how refreshing it is to find a female doing this type of work on TH-cam dressing and acting normal and decent, instead of looking like phub to get views. This looks like it'll work really well, gonna try it and subscribe. Thanks!

    curious if your box spring is still being used/in good condition? I wouldnt think brad nails and wood glue would be sufficient for long-term use.

    • @lisao3041
      @lisao3041 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Wood glue is stronger than screws. Brad nails just hold it in place until it dries.

    Starts by using all the hardware...
    Isn't there a way to make it if I don't have all those tools? (I mean, I could buy a few, but I don't need them, only fo it).

    Thanks for sharing but unless your mattress is 2 inches, you're gonna need a ladder to get into bed.

    nice video, but it is NOT a box spring. It is a box. There are no springs or anything springy.

    The video shows how to make a "platform" not a "box spring". There is little to no flexibility in the materials (at least compared to springs) so the title is misleading. I wasted my time.

    • @emeralddragon2010
      @emeralddragon2010 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Actually there is quite a bit of flexibility in that. They are only 1x4 which is only 3/4 thick. Unless you want a trampoline this has plenty of flexibility

      None of my wood box springs had springs in it, lol. Just tossed one out. Now I wish I would have kept it and replaced the broken slats and covered with ply wood on it.
      Looking on line wood box spring cost $254.99 for a queen size one and you got to put it together yourself.

      I’ve never had a boxspring with springs 🤷🏻‍♀️ the materials are listed in the beginning so if you didn’t want that style why watch further and then waste more time on a comment ? It’s exactly what I was looking for so anyway good video ✌️

    Funny how you said you can build it for about $50. You did not mention the cost of battery powered tools and power miter saw which could run you about 500 + for both!

      You're totally right; I choose to price my projects based on the cost of the consumable resources used. I suppose I make the (possibly incorrect) assumption that people who are looking at videos about building things have some of the tools already. I'm sorry if you found it misleading.
