SO sorry for the delay in answering these questions! I had someone fielding for me, and a lot didn't get forwarded and I just realized it. Thanks for your patience.
You can store it in the pantry for up to a year usually (will depend on your brand). Wrap very tight, getting air out of the bag, place that in another container (ours come in a plastic tub as well). A lot of brands you can also store the same way in the fridge or freezer, just let it come to room temp overnight before using. Some brands do not store well in cold places, like the brands you may find at the craft store. Using professional brands of fondant is more friendly to your outcome! :)
Thank you for the tip. I colored satin ice fondant with wilton icing color but the fondant resulted in being weird, it had like many many tiny holes all over it. I thought I might have over-kneaded it ??? but I couldn't do less as the color was too light. I was so disappointed !
That's like asking me to pick my favorite child! :) The brands we sell at SweetWise ARE truly my favorites- Satin Ice, FondX, Elite. We're also about to add PME Sugarpaste, which has some phenomenal new uses. Be on the lookout for a video about that!
I know how annoying that can be working w/ that line of colors... especially when trying to get a nice vibrant color. If you're trying to get a really deep color (even red or black) using powdered food color like Crystal Color in conjunction with a good quality gel paste like Americolor works great and you won't have to knead near as much. Adding lecithin is very helpful too.
I have the Satin Ice Blue fondant, but need to make it darker. Trying to get the same color off of "Man of Steel". What would you recommend me mixing that with to get the darker or steel blue/gray color? By the way, I have learned so much just by watching your youtube videos. Keep em' coming!
Hi Kathy! I am actually trying to get a color that is roughly the same color as your top in this video and I just can't seem to get it! I have tried the Americolor electric pink mixed with a few other colors and I have tried to get there with Americolor fuscia but I am having no luck! Any suggestions??
I don't believe that is food grade, but I'm not certain. You can use lecithin with the Wilton colors, but Americolor from Sweet Wise is FAR more concentrated, which adds less liquid. Using professional grades of color will give you a much better product. You have to add so much less, and you will get the colors you actually want.
You can add flavor; just stay aware of how much liquid you are adding. You don't want a gummy product! You shouldn't need lecithin for this for any reason. Try our Key Lime flavor- it's unreal!
Hi could u please tell me that I bought ready made fondant but it was so stiff n hard was very difficult to kneed plz tell me how to make it soft n kneed so as to get better texture n shape

There are some lower quality brands that aren't food safe that might do that, but these are good to use.

We have an Americolor Teal and a Crystal Color Teal that would work great.
You can wrap it, put it in a Baggie, and leave it at room temp.

Awesome video! What happens if you don't have lecithin? Can you still use a powder and gel to make a color?
You can use it, but the lecithin helps the color keep from looking spotty, and it helps it set deeper so you get a more vibrant color.
Sweet Wise thank you!!!
