As for the CDs, many of them act as unlockable "Alternative Music" for Tracks and Battle courses. After obtaining them, they'll have a chance to play on it's respective stage, akin to the older Super Smash Bros. titles. You can tell where they play by the background in the stereo mode music player, as it will show the thumbnail of the level it plays in.
The Garden Top took me awhile to get a hand on as well, I'll try to explain as best I can with what I know now. When activated, you will be placed on top of the Garden Top, and gain speed moving straight forward. It's downside is turning which is very stiff. Use your drift button to make the Garden Top come to a halt, then turn yourself. Once you're turned release drift and the Garden Top will accelerate forward again. It controls very similarly to Kirby Air Ride. Pressing the item button at any point will launch the Garden Top forward, spinning from side to side, causing a massive blow to whoever it hits. It will bounce off walls so be careful not to have it ricochet back into yourself. The Garden Top CAN go through tripwires, but be careful as you loose a lot of your momentum and won't have offroad as the tripwire will despawn the Garden Top. In short. hild and release drift to set up straight lines for the top to make you cruise down, press item to attack, and use it for occasional shortcuts.
1:54 - Tripwire threshold is 200% speed on your speedometer, 300% if you're dealing with offroad terrain effects. You'll know you're there when you see the blue speed shield form in front of your racer. Rings can make all the difference when it comes to getting through tripwires without items that will let you through regardless of your speed. What those items are is obvious enough, but the intangibility effect you get from running over a Hyudoro while not in 1st will also let you through them. You can also inflate a Bubble Shield and throw it behind you for a burst of speed to cross them. 5:28 - That's because these aren't just Prison maps. Prison Break is played on the roster of Battle maps, so seemingly strange design like this is made to facilitate combat against other players... and strictly other players. There's no implementation of CPUs for Battle. 10:03 - Keep collecting CDs. You'll get a means to listen to them soon enough. Barrier Cup is a favourite of mine, I look forward to it.
