- Blink 182 performing 'Josie' live on Recovery.
Recovery was a music and youth interests television series broadcast by ABC TV in Australia. It was aired each Saturday morning from 9:00am to 12:00pm following Rage. It aired from 1996 to its last show on 29 April 2000.
scott was a lot better than people give him credit for
... as long as I know, he was not "kicked out" because of his skills, but his "addiction" screwing with blinks opportunities to find a big label to sign with ...
+Jorge Heredia what do you mean
+Stephen Forbes Travis is more creative than most drummers in this genre, but Scott was a very good straight up and down punk drummer in his own right
he admitted that he got kicked out himself in an interview because he was a drunk at the time
w1zard I love how Scott was smiling when Tom gestured to his dick when mark sings "even when I'm lacking in the bulge"
Raynor is a damn good drummer. Fast, loud, and...well, this is Blink-182...
His drumming is sloppy and easy to play
@@diddyfaplord ok where's your band?
Diddy Faplord where’s ur record at?
@@diddyfaplord welcome to punk side of the music, do you know ramones?
Pedro hahaha are you that dumb? Funny you tried to question me about punk music for calling out a sloppy drummer. You’re a joke
Funny story I bought Dude Ranch cd from Cash Converters recently for $1 . I took it home opened it up and inside was an autographed ticket from the Palais show 1998 in Melbourne with bodyjar. Happy days I got it framed with one of the tour posters!!!! Stoked!!
Scott Rheinberger we need a photo of this
Yes!!!
Man, that's awesome!
How you know it’s their autograph
Damn one man's trash is another person's treasure
Scott what a sick FUCKING DRUMS !!!!!!
He rips! Have always loved his style, gives Dude Ranch the perfect attitude.
Probably the most repetitive drumming ever lol
and to think Scott joined when he was in 8th grade
TheLast1100 you don't understand the punk genre if thats what you think of his drumming. Go listen to first date you fucking loser
This might be the best tone Tom's guitar has ever had
So glad people are watching this in 2020. This is my favourite Blink era, loud, fast skate-punk by Mark, Tom and Scott.
Scott makes drumming look so easy. Doesn't even break a sweat
I Think Scott Is A Music Teacher Now Day's And Don't Seem To Mind Not Being In Blink Now Days.
That beat is like... not hard to do.
SpaceGoat_3D stfu trav-sexual
SpaceGoat_3D 🙄🙄
@@spacegoat_3d801 More so playing that beat, in this song specifically, in it’s Tempo, Power and Intensity, all while maintaining that throughout the entire song. Certainly wasn’t easy for Travis either. He can play it, sure, but not at the level of intensity that Scott has set for it, or even heightened during live performances of it, as Skilled and Dexterous as he was.
Scott killing it !!!
He really did
just a rare video when Mark use the left side mic
Cause everything Is opposite down under.
Yeah, I Like How They Switched Mic's For This Song. Tom Looked A Little Board, lol
I thought they swapped sides
Good catch
I miss being young when relationships seemed this big important and magical. That shit sure fades doesn’t it?
Nostalgics unite
and people say scott is a bad drummer, shame on you scott haters. jk but scott is good
ItsGeofry ThatsMe wrong, Scott was great!
especially when he joined the band
Fax
no one says that.
Scott rules!
tom actually hit all the harmonies holy shit
If only music was still like this...
I want my 90’s back
I was 9 at this time. My life was forever changed. I always listened to Blink when I was growing up. And obviously I still listen in 2012!
I just turned 19 when I discovered them last year. I guess because in Germany their presence and legacy isn’t as huge as in America. Nevertheless, my life was forever changed too and they’ll surely follow me throughout my college days lol
You were 22 when you wrote this comment. How does it feel to be 32??
Scott bangs on those drums very hard and fast. Great drumming!
This song makes me feel so nostalgic about something i'm not quite sure i experienced..
To anyone who is confused:
The drummer is Scott Raynor, the original drummer. Travis doesn't join Blink until the next album.
Scott raynor still to this day one of my main inspirations to play the drums
same
I can’t believe this was before “all the small things” which was the first blink song I heard.
Look up "They Came to Conquer Uranus"
One of Blink's best video clips. I miss Recovery and I miss early Blink. Take me back to these days!
can someone build me a time machine , thanks
People didn’t give Scott enough credit...
Hard when Travis follows you up to get the proper recognition
This is a great performance of Josie
When the still made awesome music = ) Got to meet them on this tour in Oz. They were coool. Were never the same after Scott left in my opinion, despite Travis being a better drummer. Interestgingly Mark was 26, Tom 22 and Scott 19 at this time. Kind of a weird age gap...
This is the original line up I remember, I miss these days so young and innocent 😃
Lol Tom almost broke out with 311 at the end
Haha, I'm glad someone else heard that too.
4 Years on, I know why! 311 also played that day on the show. Look up "311 Recovery", it's the same show and my 11 year old self remembers them playing the same day.
"Chill..."
The golden era of aussie tv! Teenage me ate this up
i would pay so much money to go back to 98 and see this in person
2:38 that surprise ass grab and tom's happy little dance after lol
when I was watching this I had a drink of water and then at 2:51 I just here tom do this UUGHG and I spat all over my screen XD
ItsGeofry ThatsMe Damn😂😂😂
Yeah Tom Was Getting Board When It Was Marks Turn On The Mic, He Could Not Hold It In, LoL
after watching this.. man I'm getting old
I saw this when it aired.. Recovery was the best..
Was a great show when they had live performances and band interviews. Could be dull otherwise though IMO
Recovery 90s Saturday mornings I miss 20 something me and those days.
Black haired era Scott was all smiles and having a good time during this performance. Sadly he got replaced shortly thereafter 😢
Epic upload. Man, I miss Recovery, Blink... and my youth (damnit)
I would have been totally cool if they stayed like this honestly
Never been much of a Blink 182 fan but this is a banger
That's all thanks to Scott. He gave them a little bit of punk cred with his outstanding drumming. Talk to casual blink fans and non musicians and they will say "Travis rulz, Scott sux lolz" where as real Blink fans and especially drummers will tell you how goddamn fast Scott played, he made every song sound a lot punkier.
+James Bayly this!!!
Definitely a different style and vibe after Travis joined
This real blink182 before travis take over drum.
If only I was 14 years older. My generation blows. I was born in 1998 and I listen to blink.
Same here dude! I'm 22, and the two albums I listened to in high school were Buddha and Cheshire Cat.
Same
i am 35 and i was born in the wrong generation.
Stone age music and dinosaur music is the shit!
locke cole Same. I love the music from the late Cretaceous period. That shit rocks.
I found "the" comment
Whose still watching in 2017? #blinkforever
Love this song, this year, this band and this performance. damn
Haha their clothes are fucking awesome, i love how Scott hits the kit as a fucking beast on the last chorus.
I miss Scott
I Think Scott Is A Music Teacher Now Day's And Don't Seem To Mind Not Being In Blink Now Days.
Haha this was the day I was born this show 24/1/98 lol I’m so proud
This is the best dude ranch era performance out there.
Did Tom start playing the opening riff to Down by 311 at the end there?
Oh for sure
Ye I heard that too LOL
back when they had a drummer who would play this song live
This song's always been a killer ! ;)
This is so 90s it hurts.
Scott kills this performances damn tight ASF
Best Blink right here1
Tom is dressed the same way as everyone’s dad does at a BBQ
punk drumming 101. scott was great!
That face Tom pulls at 1:30... he still pulls that face when playing today haha.
2:51 ughh😂
Do you notice how amazing semi mainstream pop punk from the nineties is compared to anything popular today? This was the golden era of music. Anything 83 to 98 is solid gold as long as it was at least semi underground.
thank you
The difference between dude ranch and untitled is completely mind blowing!!!😳😊
Scott brought so much energy to blink 182 back then than Travis no doubt about it.
A long time ago, when kids still listening to REAL music.
Calm down Raynor 😂
amazing performance👌👌👌
theres this vid Backstage with Blink182 or something like that and Mark and Tom always have a strong rum and coke before they go on stage to calm their nerves
BLINK DAYS!!!
savage,my favourite blink song!
I have seen ALOT of blink 182 videos but never this one
So hard-core bruuhhh
fuck yeah! Scott was such an amazing punk drummer.
the things would give to be born back then!
early blink always makes me happy
They played better live in the early days.
Billie Joe Armstrong said during the Green Day/blink co-tour in the mid-2000s that it was an honor to be able to blow blink-182 away every night or something.
But if it matters, I still think Travis is better than Scott because he’s slightly tighter and more creative and has better-sounding set-ups (snare-wise, etc.).
@@iredilorryiyellowilorry3355 That's interesting, because I think the Pop Disaster Tour shows were some of Blink's best with Travis. Green Day was always a ridiculously tight band though. Even back when they were just kids, they were a total unit.
things that haven't changed no matter how much people say they have; Tom still squints and/or winks when he sings, and Mark still raises his eyebrows randomly.
@eoghanctv Tom plays a standard Les Paul thru Mesa Boogie and Marshall box. He also plays a Strat with X2N pickup on Cheshire Cat and rare occasions in 1998. He stops using the Les and Strat by '99 and starts using his sig Strats that have Invader pickups in bridge.
@sinsweatnsorrow thanks dude for posting these vids... shame there isn't a show around these days like 'Recovery'... These are classic bands playing original music with passion, and making music for the love of it!!! Unfortunately we are now flooded with crap artists like Gaga, Pitbull and the like... But at the same time there are tonnes of cool new artists coming through, massive thanks to radio stations like JJJ & RTR fm in Perth who support these guys!!!
Love This Song, Blink Looked Like They Had A Blast Playing It. Thanks For Sharing This Video - Rock On!
People also forget, he was 3-4 years younger than Mark & Tom. He was a really good drummer when he was 15, and they were 18 or 19 when they chose him. As a younger guy, he wasn’t as driven, serious or reliable. Alcohol was the issue.
How alcohol could be an issue when you have 15... Man I don't get the US
Great look with the les paul
I Love Josie
20 años yeah
I would be only seven. My all time fav band!
thank u for sharing the footage
Dude!!!! Good ear haha, totally *fistbumps*
Matt Skiba with a Les Paul!!!
thats a joke dude
Young Tom and young Matt are similar in appearance
The year i graduated High School. I remeber getn stoned and listenen
The only time ever!! That mark and tomorrow are on different sides of the stage
I still have this episode on VHS somewhere :D
He was also in the Aquabats before blink! I love them too.
THEY PLAYED IN THE SAME EVENT AS 311!!! AWESOME :D
scott killed this
I always refer to blink as my babies, and they really are babies here! bABIES
This video is from my birth year.....man, I was born 18 years too late...
Haha GAH! You got me again!!!! I almost googled it! lol
Thank you!!
Back when Blink was a punk band..before Travis
Weadfreek and Tom was kicked out
Weadfreek I say they were punk until "Blink-182" came out. Though there are some straight rock songs on "Take off your pants and jacket"
blink-182? Punk band?
HeyPhilip Yes before enema of the state they were punk because Tom always had great distortion and Scott had power on the drums, he gave it some heavy style
Dude Ranch was just 90's style pop punk.
Tom's face at 0:16 AHAHAHAHAHAHAH
A-Mazing.
Scott!!!
@bigbirdtalent YEAH!!! in the enema of the state album 311 was one of the few bands he got listed in the "thanks you section" that's my 2 favorite band :D
SEMPLICEMENTE STUPENDA
Even Tom’s having fun here
