    Great video, in the late 70s I worked for a company that imported Biesemeyer fences into Britain. You could tell straight away it was a good piece of kit. Glad to see there still going. Like your table extension. It looks like the Swiss army knife of table saws.

      David Beaumont thank you! I do really enjoy having this fence. It makes cutting so much easier.

    I’m reeeaaallyy looking to buy that same saw and do this same set up. Let me ask you this, how accurate are your rip cuts?

    Nice table! did you do a video of making it? I love the idea of the portable saw put into a permanent bench... take it out if i need it on the job, and otherwise it doubles as a good shop saw. oh and good vid of the fence also....

      holly h Thank you so much! It is very useful. I like having a large working surface since it is THE only workable top in my garage. I also park my car in the garage so it makes it easy to wheel the bench out when in used and push it to the wall when not. have some videos on Instagram of me making, but not the entirety of the build. I'm still adding more features like drawers and a vise.

    Great job! I am in the middle of building the exact same bench incorporating a Dewalt 7491 table saw. Also going with a Biesemeyer type fence. My question to you is how do you have access to the Riving Knife release lever located on the left side of the table saw? Maybe yours is different than mine?

      @SydBuilds  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the delayed response. There is not a need for me to remove the riving knife. I thought the adjustment is done underneath the zero clearance cover.

    what do you call the round helper you use to hold things in position???

    • @SydBuilds
      @SydBuilds  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Petra Treemer Hi! I was told it an adjustable base to a very, very old (probabaly from the industrial era) dentist examiner stool. It was given to me by a neighbor. I sometime screw a piece of plywood on it and use it as a table surface when working outside the garage. It’s perfect for supporting work pieces because it can be adjusted by millimeters!

    Nice job! Does the fence use the the T-track on your table, or does the far end just float?

    • @SydBuilds
      @SydBuilds  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, the t-track is for other attachments when assembling. The fence doesn’t need to be anchor at the far end. It’s super tight when cranked down so it’s immovable.

      Paolo Pabalinas Hi! I didn't mount the fence rail to the table saw. It is mounted to the table.

    Do you have a video of you building the work bench, I need to create a fence system similar to the one you took off.

      Hi, the videos are on my Instagram page. You can look up "table saw fence by DIY Creator". He made a good one.

    This is awesome! Do you ever miss the rack and pinion set up? You can dial it in really well with those.

    • @SydBuilds
      @SydBuilds  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      surfbreakn The DeWalt table saws are well known and have the best reviews for the accuracy of the fence. It was one of the reasons the giver bought me the the saw in the first place. I personally never used the fence. Believe it or not, I was terrified of using the saw with out a proper support. Thus, I set out to build a bigger work surface. I took the fence off when I built the table. The fence just wasn't fitting with my idea of a fluid workbench. It's naivety on my part really, but the biesemeyer has been serving me very well. You can't find too many fence more accurate than this one. 😊

    Did you pay more for the fence than the saw?

    • @SydBuilds
      @SydBuilds  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      iwantosavemoney The fence is an original made in the US so technically it costs more than the saw, but I bought it on Craigslist for less than $200 so the answer is no 😁

  • @dennynebgen2283

    Real nice Fence system but, $429 !!?? Wow! What in that package makes it worth that much? Just not seeing it.

    • @SydBuilds
      @SydBuilds  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is a system that is as accurate as can be. You can find used ones on Craigslist for much less if you're diligent.
      Mine is actually an original made in the USA from decades ago. I was lucky enough to acquire it from a gentleman, through Craigslist, who had it in storage for a long time so it's in perfect condition.
