I love bringing you through my actual life progress of DIY's. When we first made over this dining room, Holly was not down with the green and told me she'd love it white. My brain was turning on how to make this space still incorporate all that gorgeous green without it being the main focus. With a few shifts and help from my best friend, I am very excited with the new direction we took it in xx.

BACK TO MAKEOVERS BABAAAAAAAAAAY! Before you GO off (some of you), let me make some notes about the space. DIY wall art doesn’t bother anyone that has sat here the last couples months when eating since we don’t sit with our back directly against a wall the entire time we are eating. Do you guys eat sitting directly against the wall though? Hmm. The copper shelves are above my bun height which means people can sit comfortably against the wall an entire meal if they want. As far as the change from green to white - not my house! Holly’s house, Holly’s rules and Holly design so we make mama happy.

Looks stunning! I was one who commented about the art height, but as you say it all depends on who lives there and what works for you! Wasnt to point flaws at all. my place is super small, we don't have a dining room separated from living room, so everyone that comes by gets quite "comfy" at the dining table, as there is no other option and its not used just for eating, so i guess thats where i was coming from with the comment 😁 i loooved the solution for the bags and the diy copper shelfs!
I think the dining room turned out great. It's like everything just works. It flows so well with the other side of the door/room and I can't believe much more spacious it looks. It's crazy how much wall color will impact room. It looks completely different and I could see the difference even after the 1st coat of paint. Another awesome design!! I'm in total awe of your skills and work ethic ❤
U r true inspiration.. I never held a paint brush in my life and since I started seeing ur content I painted and redecorated all of my and the kids bedrooms.. there is a certain pride that comes with decorating ur own space even if I need to revisit some mistakes as time goes by...

It's hard for some ppl to understand what it's like to live in someone else's home. Your room is literally like your apartment. No matter how kind Holly is, this is HER home, and that's a huge change for someone who had a whole garage in which to do as they pleased. I dig it, I yell at inanimate objects all the time, and I love all the self care steps you are taking to be well. Thanks

I’m glad you DIYed a DIY you saw online for cheaper, I would do the same. I see so many comment sections that hate that because it’s “ripping off an artist” and “copying” or “stealing” and whatnot but like there’s no reason why we shouldn’t be able to make things for ourselves. Now if we were selling them that’s a different story, but just for ourselves is fine to me.
The Sorry Girls DIYed a really generic painting they found on Pinterest and the comment section like chopped their heads off and in the next video they said they were gonna throw them away and buy the original painting. 😑 I’m just glad to find like-minded people here.

Love the bag moment! I had a "What would Rachel do?" moment this weekend while reorganising my room and I had nowhere to put the two bags I use every day (all my other bags go up on the top shelf of my closet) so they were just on the floor and I hated it, but then I got a couple of hooks and hung them on the outside of my closet door and I was like "They're art now, I'm leaning into it!"

Fantastic redo, Rachel! I’m at the tail end of “homeschooling” my son for the day and the textured, cream colored art on that white wall was incredibly soothing. And the greenery...chef’s kiss. I feel like I can breathe again. You cussing at the brackets legit channeled how I’m feeling about 4th grade.

I love when you say "remember, you DO NOT live here" because it is sooo true. Your job is to inspire us and give us ideias, not for us to copy exactly how you do it. I live near the beach, copper wouldn't work for me and I dont like much decor because it colects so much dust and Im frekin alergic, but thats me, it doesn't work for ME, but it does for you and thats the beauty of it.
Oh and I didn't know how to frase it better (English is not my first language) but what I mean is that what you do is supposed to work as inspiration and ideias. We should adapt to our needs and taste
